I wish we had seen all the warnings and negative comments about American Kitchen Corporation in Alamance County, NC before paying them to remodel our kitchen.
They gladly took our large deposit, produced a design, then EVERYTHING STOPPED. Our money is gone and we have absolutely nothings to show for it. No cabinets or flooring were every delivered and no demo ever began. Since Tyler Sheets and Rob Selfors have employed the same deceptive business practices with American Kitchen Corporation that were used with Kitchen Carolina, deception must be the ultimate plan. Their motto must be "SELL ALL THE KITCHENS WE CAN, COLLECT LARGE DOWN PAYMENTS, KNOWING WE CAN NEVER DELIVER, THEN CLOSE DOWN." Tyler Sheets and Rob Selfors simply do not care about all the people they have cheated and how many lives they have disrupted. Many victims are retirees and can never replace the money that was taken by American Kitchen Corp. "ROB" is a very appropriate name for Mr. Selfors, who sometimes introduces himself as Bobby and has conveniently forgotten to bring his business cards. What salesman forgets his business cards?! The fact that he is supposed to be a church pastor is even more disheartening. Makes one lose faith in the human race.

Government Actions

On July 14, 2014, North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper filed suit in Wake County Superior Court against American Kitchen Corporation and its owners Robert Selfors and Tyler Justin Sheets seeking to ban them from offering home repair or home improvement services to North Carolina homeowners. Cooper is also asking the court to require them to pay refunds to consumers who paid for work that was never completed.

Consumers with unfinished kitchens who have not already done so are encouraged to contact the North Carolina Attorney General's Office to file complaint with their office and also file complaint with your Better Business Bureau.
