This company solicited a debit card with a fee. I thought I was signing up for a prepaid card and activated it online. There is now a minus of 30.00 worth of (THEIR) charges just to have the card and - not a phone number or contact information in site so that I can ask them to cancel the card.

Just got done talking to an Achieve Card Supervisor...after being told 3-4x within the last two days that a $45.oo pending transaction on my account cannot be put back into my account because I needed to get the vendor to fax them (achieve card), an authorization code. The $45.oo pending transaction therefore is not allowing me to use that money, which is hard-earned by the way. I used the card to pay for my daughter going for a CPR class and the first time the vendor tried to get the money from my account it was denied, therefore pending (the money was there and to my embarrassment of course). Then four days later the vendor tried again and the transaction went through. Now the $45.oo is still not available to me because the supervisor insisted they needed an authorization code. The vendor (after being requeested by me) faxed over proof of payment etc..., not good enough for achieve card. The first $45.oo pending transaction never went through but the money is not there for me (of course I had more than twice that amount on the card to start with). It's caused me so much pain, just because emotionally it hurts that I have to beg for them to give me my money back, which I'm breaking my back working hard for. $45.00????? I thought, like everybody else, that I have found a solution to my "un-banked problems". It's Christmas soon and the $45.OO could buy me and my kids our christmas dinner! Don't know how else to deal with this...just so frustrated and emotionally a wreck!!! Thanks to Achieve Card...EXPECT MORE????DESERVE MORE?????ACHIEVE WHAT MORE????????

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE FULL OF GAMES, THEY TELL YOU THAT YOUR MONEY WILL HIT AT MIDNIGHT AND AS I WRITE THIS COMMENT, IT IS ALMOST 3PM AND I HAVE NOT RECIEVED MY MONEY, A WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT IT WILL BE DAYS BECAUSE IT IS MY FIRST TIME USING IT. I want to thank everyone for their comments. In the past I have been scammed and it is painful when you are on a fixed income. I received one of these cards in the mail and was interested in where it could have came from. I have learned in the past to first go on sites like this one and see what others are saying about it. It is a real shame that you can't trust anything or anyone anymore. I know the people who run this company sleep very well at night...but just you pay close attention to the news, those who rise, will fall. You can not purposely hurt innocent people and not expect to pay in the end. I pray for those who along the way in their lives thought it was OK to do this to a nother human being. If you were one of the fortunate ones that this situation worked out for you, God Bless You. But I would still look for an alternative. What is so wrong with getting a debt card from a bank in your own area? Leave the Devil to wollow in his own stew.

I am currently still waiting on my money from a company. It's currently 3 days from Christmas and the deposit hasen't showed. Very Funny. Never had an issue with deposits from my company before until I switched over to Achievecard. Palm Desert time for you to get on the ball before the ball runs you over. It's not funny I know you're laughing Palm Desert but it is not funny. Don't be the fool here and get these people money on their card!

After reading all of this and seeing that Achieve Card is attempting to smooth things over..but not once do they give you a legitimate phone number where you can contact them direct to a live person, they give their name but only the first, why would this be? I too was sent a card in the mail which I never signed up for. Yes, I was online looking for online payday loans however, did not accept any of them. Nor did I accept or choose to receive this card from Achieve, however, I received in the mail. I attempted to contact the number on their mailing 866-777-0971 with no luck only an automated voice wanting me to activate the card. I will not activate the card. I have a wonderful bank that provides me with a debit credit card as well as I work for the state of my residence, why the heck would I want to give Achieve card my $$ each month and bypass my bank. Sounds fishy to me. All that I can say is that come payday, there better not be in fees taken out of my checking account. If so, Achieve will have some 'splaining to do Lucy!! Sincerely, Dee

I have had good luck with them. Paycheck in ontime except once, was by noon eventually. Had $75 hold put on but used card at pump, CS credited as soon as I called them. Fee of $9.95 too high. B of A sounds like a better program. At least no issues with B of A have arisen as they have w/ Achieve. I plan on switching to B of A, no outstanding acct w/ them, but Un-banked due to divorce.

this shit is jus messed up i got this card requested direct deposit for my tax refund the irs told me that my check was scheduled for direct deposit on jan 28 2011 and it is now 703am and my funds are not on my card ryan since you answering questions can u answer mine why havent my money post and the rep told me my funds would be available between 2-3 am today

I was recently termed by this company by a team lead for a no call no show that was incorrect. I notified my team lead 2 hrs before my shift and was told that I didn't notify her until after 4 which was so untrue. Then I was told by the floor supervisor that he couldn't do anything and he had to go by what she told him. Hmmm wrong on so many levels. I then sent proof of the time by email to the supervisor with my phone statement. He never responded back so I called him and he simply stated that he couldn't do anything about it. So now I'm wonder what kinda place is this where the floor supervisor can't do anything about what a team lead does.hmmm. So I couldn't let it go that easy. I then spoke to 2 HR people who were contracted to work there for a few months, didntever know what the situation was or how to get in contact with anyone over them. So after being persistant I was told that the VP would call, spoke to him briefly and was told that he would get back with me later that afternoon. That after noon turned into a little over a week. When we finally spoke he came with more lies and some truth. Yes their were tardies. No there were no, no call no shows. No I never told anyone, especially this person that I never even knew that I wanted to change my schedule and work the hrs that he stated I told to these people. So common sence told me to ask about this so called meeting that he had with all these people except my team lead...why wasn't I there to hear this conversation, to hear these people say that I asked them to give me more hours. You won't believe what the so called VP Shawn told me..."that's not how my company is ran". What kind of 1sided bs is that? Anyone can say anything in that case and I would never know anything. I continued to tell him that I never told HIM or HER any of that and he simply told me that he had to go by what they told him. Ok well you were told that I gave notification at a different time also. I proved that wrong! So seeing where the conversation was going and how I felt about the whole thing, I nicely told him thank you and have a great night.

Unfair treatment... I do believe so!
I will be reporting this to the Workforce and anyone else they lead me to.
Once again, HAVE A GREAT NIGHT AND A BETTER DAY. I hope no one else has to go through the same torture as I.

You know its kind of interesting. I've noticed two different kinds of callers during my time as a customer service rep at Achieve Card. Customer A. has 4, 000+ dollars in their account, is polite, well spoken, civil, easy to work with, and has a genuine problem. Customer B. is so hostile that the call takes longer than necessary, has failed to educate themselves about our services with the information available, and usually they are broke because they live their entire life like this. They don't have their act together and they take it out on me while I am nothing but nice and informative... Not that these people with poverty consciousness appreciate information.

My favorite callers are the ones who activate their cards after I read a script that SPECIFICALLY clarifies, "the achieve card is a prepaid debit mastercard; this means that it BEGINS WITH A ZERO BALANCE" and, "we have a monthly maintenance fee of $9.95 cents that begins the first time you load money onto the card and once a month afterward." They glaze over, don't listen, tell me to activate and then... THEEEEN they yell at me when they find out there is a zero balance. Just... Wow. You know? Like, there's all these angry people chomping at the bit for a quick money fix even if it puts them in debt and they get mad at me when they find out (after I ALREADY TOLD THEM) that there is nothing on the card and it is to be used like a checking account.

I HAVE an Achieve Card. It is wondeful! It protects me from going into debt! I guess that's why our happy customers actually HAVE money in their accounts. They LIKE a card that helps them manage their money! As do I. This is not a credit card. This is not a savings account. It is simply a fantastic way to recieve your monthly paycheck and pay your monthly bills without the hassles of surprise bank fees such as 30 dollar overdraft charges. When I was younger I had bank accounts that did not protect my best interest. The Achieve Card DOES! Period.

I love my card. I love that I can use it over seas. I love that I can use it anywhere Master Card is accepted. I love that it keeps me from ruining my credit any further. I love that I can swipe it and get cash back with no extra fees. I like that there are daily purchase limits so that anyone who steals my card will leave a paper trail and get caught rather than take all my money in one fatal transaction. I like that I can go online and check the status of my account any time, day or night. I like that Achieve Card gives me what I am looking for in a financial service.

I know every little tick and quark about this card and I also understand the reasons behind them. I think its brilliant. I think that every college student should have one of these to protect them from the future-ruining vortex of the typical bank account. Isn't it bad enough that we start our youth off with a student loan? Do we really need to pile credit card debt onto their backs before they really understand how finances work?

Credit and Interest are a "Zero Sum Game!" What that means is that they are the CAUSE of financial collapse. Credit and Interest are the REASON jobs are so hard to find and I have to listen to abuse all day long because there's no other way to keep a roof over my head right now. (Note: I am GRATEFUL for you angry people because I wouldn't have a job if you didn't exist.)
Please... I urge you ALL to get on youtube and watch the documentary "Zeitgeist Addendum." You need to understand how the banking system works. You need to understand ecenomics! You need to know the big picture to appreciate the small one!

Chase Bank offers a "Second Chance Account." Their monthly fee is 10 dollars. Why isn't anyone complaining about them?

My direct deposite is never late.

I have an Autoloan with GMAC. Its a 22, 000 dollar loan. I'm down to 3, 200 right now. I've been paying on it for five years. I was behind a couple of times and had a 50 dollar late fee. I didn't call up and scream at some poor rep before she could even pull my info up on the screen. No one told me when I bough the car that there would be a 50 dollar late fee. But I was real nice and explianed why I would never be able to catch up on this and the rep actually helped me out. I've seen this happen at Achieve Card but some of y'all are just hateful and impossible for no reason.

We reps are just people. We aren't sitting there laughing at your misery. Every missed call, every dropped call, every hang up, every heavy breath of frustration is MONITORED and GRADED... If those grades are not sufficient, we are terminated! So, if you're on hold for 40 minutes (as one poster divulged), that's right!, we look bad! If we can't help you, we look bad! If you're angry, we look bad! If you're a schizophrenic who randomly called our customer service line to talk about puppies and purple jelly beans, we have can't hang up on you until you're done and then the length of the call goes into our stats... which means we may have missed several other calls...

Wanna know why the call valume is so heavey some days? Becaues problems that could be solved in 2 minutes are filled with 15 minutes of unproductive verbal abuse from the caller against the innocent rep!

I shouldn't even post this, but I feel it needs to be said.

In short; we offer a great product, we CARE about your concerns, you hurt our feelings, we try to help, and we love our cards.

I said my piece.

and PS: You men out there who make fun of my voice and the nice way I sound or the ones who call me "baby, " "toots, " and other demeaning crap... Fuck you! Seriously. You're a fucking loser. Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you! (I'm not allowed to say this on the phone.) Do you ever think the Rep you're demeaning might be pregnant or anything like that??? You just don't talk to a lady like that. Especially when she has done nothing but try to help you. Sick fucks! I hope you get erectile disfunction!

I used to think one of you would find comfort in the fact that your child can't activate the card... but NOOOOOO its STIIIILLLL the end of the fucking world! I kindly apologize and offer to take you off our mailing list without hesitation but that's just NOT good enough, is it?! Noooo! No, nothing is good enough for bipolar nut jobs who want to make a problem out of NOTHING and take it out on someone, rather than have healthy human interactions and spend their time productively! I, Yul Pierce, am contacting your entity due the fact that I applied for a loan with another corporation, which express that the loan applied for was deposited into an account that exsist with your Bank;as i relinquished my account information to this institution, the transaction has been recorded, but as i try to access the deposit, it comes back that there is no funds within the account.It is my wish that some one from your association tend to this matter expeditiously, as I need to clear a matter with the court and other legal entities for this recorded loan transaction. i have an achieve card also, i have never had a problem with them, and i use my card on week ends also with no problem, i love mine, i have bad credit and feel lucky to have this card, asfar as phone numbers, i kept all my papers from when i first gotthe card, i have only had to call thm twice, they were very helpful and friendly, i have direct deposit, its always there when its supposed to be, give achieve a break, some times we bring problems upon our selves, no bank or credit card company is perfect, just as we are not, andim sure they will work it out for you, i find that when i call a buisness if i speak to them wit kindness then they will speak to me i the same manor, ...try it you will get better results...thanks s.rideout

BEWARE!! This card was sent to me UNSOLICITATED!! They didn't even spell my name correctly. I have notified the Atty General's office here in MPLS, which I am very happy to say were very proactive about this. I am also filing a complaint with the BBB. I suggest you all do the same. I would love to hear the response from the Achieve Card troll that hangs around defending this pathetic practice. Please, tell me your sad excuse for this type of behavior.

something's rottenn in denmark here... the amount of disinformation posted in favour of achieve card is phenomenal. my bs detector is working overtime...

my take on this:

1. achieve card has been spamming my cell phone with sms messages, i thought that was illegal...

2. if the president of achieve card is so concerned about their customer satisfaction, why are we getting posts from flunkies claiming to represent achieve card, and not the president himself? if my csrs were doing the things claimed here, i'd certainly want to be proactive about it.

3. wal mart money card is NOT an achieve card. my wal mart card is issued through one of ge's financial institutions, and it has a website where i can access my account balances day or night. to claim that wal mart debit cards are achieve cards is an outright lie.

4. $10 a month service fee? isn't that a bit steep considering the wal mart cards only charge $3? or is it ok to bilk poor and uneducated people of their hard earned money? if this sounds like a good deal to you, you probaly drive around town looking for the most expensive gas station...

I have been suckered into this bugus mess, I have never seen a company charge so much, so many fees for ATM cards. Must be owned by Mobsters! I am shocked to find that i'm not the only person to recieve this card and never even applied for it. Should of known something was fishy, still I held on to the card any way, cuz I use debit cards to pay for online purchases. I had to pay $4.95 to load money onto it, I only loaded the exact amount I needed, but when I went to use the card to complete my order transaction, I was denied because "ACHIEVE" the rip offs took out $9.95. I went to withdraw the rest of my money, I knew the ATM machine charged $3.00 but why did achieve charge me $2.00? They even charged $2.00 for the transaction I unsuccessfully tried to make.
I'm about to report them to the BBB, I had to come here first, to try and warn other consumers before they get RIPED OFF like me!

THE QUESTION IS, HOW THE HELL DID THIS ACHIEVE CARD COMPANY GET OUR NAMES AND ADDRESS??? THAT WAS ENOUGH FOR ME TO BECOME SKEPTICAL. I'M NOT PUTTING MY MONEY ON A CARD FROM A COMPANY I NEVER HEARD OF. USUALLY ONLY CREDIT CARD COMPANIES SEND CREDIT CARDS IN THE MAIL...SINCE WHEN ARE COMPANIES SENDING OUT PRE-PAID CARDS BY MAIL WITH YOUR NAME ALREADY ON IT??? DONT DO IT GUYS!!

ok so i set up my shit card or what they call it achieve card. as soon as i got my ssi check sent to the shit card i lost 40$ right off the bat what the hell is that. come on an then everytime i would pay a bill i lost more money are you goin to replace my money that i coukd have paid my electrict bill with i dont think so so how the hell am i goin to pay my bill im screwed an in a day my electricity will be shut off thank you so much for fucking me in any way your company can an ive tried to contacted you people an no one will speak to me or email me so i want my money back wich is 157$ or i will take you people to court an sue you an print out what everyone is saying an i know i will win sense im already talkin to a lawer thank you an return my money

I applied for this accive card sometime in November 2010 I had sighned up for direct deposit at the time of activation. I have had no problems up until now. I called to check my balance yesterday and to my suprise nothing was credited to my acount. I first called my employer to make sure they had no problem they said everything was fine on their end. I called Achieve Card and they said that no deposit was sent. After calling customer service the first time the rep told me they are going through a bank merger and my direct deposit will be in at some pint the same day, so I checked my account several time durring the day with no deposit. I called again and the rep stated the same thing. I called just before they closed last nite and the rep did a trouble ticket to find my deposit and he told me to call them 10am sat morning if my deposit was not in yet. I tried to call caude guess what (NO DEPOSIT) and the automated system stated they were not open. Tese people need t realize we count on this money to be put into our accounts in a timely mannor now what do I do this portion of my paycheck it to feed my children what do I tell them when they say I"M HUNGRY MOMMY! do I say the bank took my money honey i'm sorry you cant eat this week. "I dont think so" please I need something done about this now...
