CIC is billing me monthly for a service I do not use, do not need and can't seem to stop. I will call them, write them, report them to the BBB and to the attorney general. Shame on CIC!

Okay, Guys, I have a suggestion beyond staying away from these people. If they're billing your credit card, call your credit card company and advise them that you want to dispute the charge. The credit card companies will typically give you your money back and recover theirs from the merchant. Most credit card companies have whole departments to take care of problems like these. But remember, the earlier you catch it the easier it will be for the credit card company to handle the problem for you... so watch your statements!

I just found out that I am being charged and I never signed up for this thing, and not only that they are charging me and my husband DAILY!!!! My husband is in Iraq right now and we are barley making ends meet I am furious! I can't believe this!

They told me they would send my credit report in the mail due to the fact they could not identify who i was, then i never received anything at all and just got charged 12.95. The triple advantage company is a scam and should not be allowed to advertise and should be reported to the BBB.

WHAT IS THIS GARBAGE? I signed up for the free triple advantage thing a month and I cancelled 3 days later. I get my statement in my e-mail from my credit card company today and there's A CHARGE FOR 12.95$ I CANCELLED THIS CRAP!!! They are getting a handful from me tomorrow on the phone and I'm going to mention all of these damn complaints to them as well. If they don't refund my charge, I will dispute with my credit card company. THEIR ASSES ARE GRASS AND I'M GONNA SMOKE IT!

I has this problem with this god forsaken company also. I called them countless times, cancelled half a dozen times only to be continually billed each month.

The only way I was able to stop them from billing me was fill out a fraud report with my bank and close the account. As you can imagine there were some repercussions that came from that but I was sick and tired of paying them money for absolutely nothing.

Do yourself a favor and cancel your account now...

I just noticed charges on my credit card statement for 412.95 for something I never authorized not signed up for. If it wasn't for this website, I would not have been able to find the contact number.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 30-day trial period, you will be billed $12.95 for each month that you continue your membership.

When you sign up for your FREE credit report on FREEcreditreport.com for $9.95 you are also signing up for a FREE trial membership which becomes unFREE unless YOU call and cancel the membership within 30 days. There must be some marketing trick that says that if you plaster the word "free" all over something people actually tend to think it's truly free.

Hard to believe this is legal even though so many people have been deceived, judging by the monster number of complaints.

After calling CIC and requesting they remove the charges from my account I was told the credits would show up in ten business days... we'll see.

I have an unauthorized billing on my VISA card statement. I never even signed up for anything with Cic!! I am getting billed for something and I don't even know what it is! WTF!
392 days ago by Alice J. Brooks [send email]
I thought I was going to get a free credit report when I filled out the information. Then I see, after all information was given them, that it is going to cost me a $12 monthly fee, therefore, I never completed the transaction. They emailed me to say I didn't finish processing the information and told me what to do. I ignored this as I had no intention of completing this. Low and behold, I just got a $12 charge on my Visa card. They will here from me in writing and on the phone. I will also notify Visa to credit my account.

I just canceled as well, though I did order the service, unfortunately I hadn't written down the nick/password so that took some doing to get back into the site.

When you call the number (877-481-6825) they will try to get you to keep the service, obviously, and they read from a script that's hard to understand, especially if your rep happens to have marbles in their mouth.

After you get through the spiel and still cancel they tell you they will send you a confirmation number via email. Ask for it anyway. I don't trust my email to actually send it, or them, for that matter. They can give you a confirmation number over the phone.

This is outrageous, I noticed it on my bill and called to cancel but it should have never happened in the first place it is supposed to be free and they charge you a monthly fee??? Please put a stop to these con artists.

I have been victimized also by the same people. I had to cancel my credit card and get a new one in order to get it stopped. I was unable to get in touch with the company as they kept putting me on hold. Someone needs to file charges.

I also was being charged $12.95 for this service, I thought it was through Experian but I am being billed from them on a entire different credit card. I just canceled with them and they gave me a confirmation #. I also never received the free credit report and I kept blowing this problem off, they got about $50 from me. Don't get tricked from these people!!!

This is outright fraud. I went to the FreeCreditReport.com web site but never signed up for anything. Then I started getting charged $12.95 a month!

I noticed a $12.95 charge on my bank statement that I did not recognize. After an inquiry to the bank, I was informed that this was Triple Advantage. I looked at previous statements and found that there were 3 months of this unauthorized billing. I never signed up for.

I signed up for the 30 day freecreditreport.com trial membership (through experian) to check my credit report on may 10. I marked on my calendar to cancel in early June so I called on June 7th and asked them to cancel my membership. June 11, my credit card statement is billed 12.95 from triple advantage. I just called now and explained what happened (luckily I could understand the girl this time). Even though the first time I was told "you will not be billed." She said she will refund the charge on my credit card so I am crossing my fingers and hoping it actually happens. The number i called is different than what people were saying early in the thread. I called 877-481-6826 and I kept choosing the "for all other" options on the automated system ( I think that is why I could understand her this time). Anyway, out of curiosity, I asked her if they would have caught their mistake if I had not called and she giggled and said probably not...

1. Call your Credit Card and dispute the charge they will atleast go back 60 days.
2. Call (877)481-6825. Be sure to get the representative's name and employee ID# (they will only give you their first name)
3. Tell them you want to cancel. (Listen to their spiel and then tell them you want to cancel!!!)
4. Get a confirmation number for your cancellation
5. Dispute your other unauthorized charges with them. Their address is:

Consumer Info - CRG
PO Box 19729
Irvine, CA 92623-9729

Fax 949-567-3858

6. Write them and fax them. Once you get your confirmation number you should be cancelled for good. I am learning with everyone else NOTHING IS FREE!

I had CIC Triple Advantage charges also show up on my Visa account inexplicably. They were quite prompt and polite in crediting the charges back to me. Curiously, I have also since seen the mysterious "EPI 866-637-8815 CA" charge for $9.65 show up and am investigating. The previous post by "John" cannot be mere coincidence. I am working with my Visa provider to investigate this further. All of you should check your statements for this kind of thing and cite this research. The investigator noted that if enough chargebacks get sent to the merchant, it will raise a red flag and the credit companies will start to take a more serious look at the merchant.

I guess the company is back to scamming... we got scammed for the exact amount, $12.95. FreeCreditReport.com is not free. Use AnnualCreditReport.com... You can only do it once a year though.
