Holding insurance proceeds

Chase loss draft and citibank loss draft... Use assurant, inc. @ one chase manhattan plaza, new york, ny 10005, 212.859.7000. Call the ceo and the board members to get something accomplished. If they had several hundred phone calls a day... The policies and procedures would change. Give them a dose of their own medicine.

Chase and citibank outsource insurance payments from insurance companies. Once insurance work is started and or completed... The "loss draft dept" becomes involved if you have a mortgage on your home.

When you call the loss draft dept every transaction takes 48-72 hours. Can you check and see if documents have arrived, yes but it will take 48-72 hours. All documents and transactions take 48-72 hours. Each piece of document that you send in will be misplaced for 48-72 hrs. Then you call asking if they have it... Nope, resend or fax... Another 48-72 hours. 48-72 is engraved into their minds... Everything takes 48-72 hours... Regardless!

Not to be outdone... I found the
Board of directors... John michael palms, phd. , d. Sc. , (Hon) , lhd, (Hon) , chairman of the board; elaine d. Rosen. Vice chair; beth l. Bronner, director; howard l. Carver, director; juan n. Cento, director; allen r. Freedman, director; lawrence v. Jackson, director; david b. Kelso, director; charles john koch, director; h. Carroll mackin; robert b. Pollock, director; john a. C. Swainson, director

Phone number is ******* 212.859.7000*******... Email format is first name. Last name @ assurant.com

I hope this helps everyone...

These are the most incompetent idiots I have ever dealt with. I have experienced the same denials of having received my documents, calls not returned and multiple requests for the same documents...only to see them holding my insurance proceeds now for 6 frickin months. Each time I call it sounds like a Nigerian scam. Their English is terrible and hard to understand but that is dwarfed by their lack of intelligence. Even with an inspector THEY finally sent out stating that the work was 100% complete they refused to forward my insurance funds. I had to hire an attorney and so far Chase has ignored hime too. What is up with these idiots?

A miracle occured today. The Loss Draft Dept. agreed to send us our money. Yesterday I spoke with the Chase MORTGAGE CUSTOMER SERVICE dept. I explained the hell the loss draft dept puts us through, how I could not get a supplemental claim filed with FEMA if they didn't release the rest of my money. He then called the loss draft dept with me on the line and was told EXACTLY what I said she would say. When he asked for a "manager" (who I don't believe exist) we of course were told they'd call me back in, yes, 48 hours. Well, I don't know what went on behind the scenes, but in today's call was told that they reconsidered my request and are sending the money--all of it! I'm hoping that since this loss draft dept is outsourced, that they can be fired and that Chase Mortgage told them so. So folks-- call the Mortgage dept, not loss draft if you want your money and don't stop until someone listens to you!

Isnt there an attorney out there that will represent all of us so we can file a class action lawsuit against Chase? I think that is what they need. They will never change and I am so fed up with their excuses. They sent us a check for half of our repairs with our loan number and address made payable to two peoples names we have never heard of! We havent received a replacement check yet. Its been four months.

I agree with all of the above. They take forever to do anything. They lose faxes. I sent the same fax 5 times before they finally said they had it. After 6 calls where I got 6 different answers to the same questions I spoke to a supervisor. First she told me I shouldn't have sent in a W9 for one of my contractors but since I did now I had to send in a wavier of lien and an mortgagor's affidavit for them. Of course earlier I was told I had to send in the W9. I had also already sent in the wavier twice but they couldn't find it. I then asked about another contractor and she told me I did not need a W9, waiver or mortgagor's affidavit for them. The next in the mail I received a letter stating I needed to send in the W9, waiver or mortgagor's affidavit for the company. My latest is they finally sent the 50% check after 2 and a half. Guess what? They added a company to the payees that has never worked on my house. I don't have any idea who they are. I am going to contact my state and federal representatives and senators along with my county DA, State Attorney General, local newspaper and local TV stations to see if they will make some calls for me.

I have to agree with all the above. I am on my second claim with Chase. The first was storm damage and took almost a year to get my money from them. The second is recent with a froze pipe burst flooding the house. I sent them a check for 115k, and they returned with a check for 38K and expect me to get to 50% before they release another 1/3 of the money. The dry out and demo costs were 32K. This leaves me with 8K if I paid them for the work that was already completed to get the house to 50%. I am not sure if they know basic of math or if they are holding onto the money as long as they can for interest.

Chase consistently lies to the customer in order to hold funds for insurance repairs. No matter how many forms you fax they are lost, not acceptable and will take more time. One agent will give you their name and on call backs you will always be told they aren't their. They actually lied to us about what time their department closed and had us drive 45 minutes to a branch just to be told "we can't do anything about it" Then the branch manager got on the phone and we were told the "check is in the mail" Not here 21 days later. They also claim the process is "very different" if you are in a loan modification NOT TRUE - check the web - they keep everyone's insurance money and make them beg to get it so their home could be repaired. REPORT THIS BANK TO THE OCC (www.helpwithmybank.govAND THE FDIC THEY HAVE ON LINE FORMS. They are dishonest and abusive to mortgage customers with insurance claims. They force repair and construction people to sign a W-9 to report income they will not be directly paying for a dishonest tax write off for labor paid I am sure AND make them sign a waiver of lien to hold Chase harmless if they can't get their money because Chase won't return it to the customer. ALL attorneys general should be aware of these abuses. While you keep trying to get Chase to do the right thing keep reporting them to these regulators and law makers. The more people they hear from the more likely action will be taken against them. If they were one person they would be called a white collar criminal but these guys hide behind multiple departments and employees that get paid to make excuses and lie to the customer. Speak up. Fight Back

yea it does not make any sense . everytime you call it is always another excuse. anyway what they are asking for is not even on the website. when you call and get someone to listen and when you call back to talk to that person then they dont talk to you are dont answer their phone. Ms. Andrea at [protected] ex 24301 admitted they droped the ball but oh well. chase had sent a inspector out and had not notified the homeowner. i was pissed as hell and i told the inspector that. i told her i dont know you or aany one else. i do think that chase should have call the homeowner . she then comes out and asked 100+ question instead of saying what she needed and i final said what is it that you need. 2 pictures she said . please get them and get out of my house. my contractor i had said that i chase was going to give me hell. for the remainder of the work that needed to be done i told chase that i was going to to do it myself. they said that i had to do the work and submitt the invoice. i asked why can i not go and get how much it is going to cost and submitt that...chase said oh no that not good enough...that what the contractor did. i needed a waive of lein and the 3rd party report. they were told from the beginnng t the end that i do not have and could not get so that is when they want a contractor bid...got that and still it was something else. i told chase what games were they playing. everytime i call chase had another i want, i need...this has been going for 2 years...i want to finish repairs and move on...lord forbid if anything else happen the hell you would have to go thru again. doesn't chase know we as homeowners don't like doing what we do but we pay our insurance each and every month for this and the hell we have to go thru. first of all i pay my insurance myself we pay and you all give homeowner this kind of stress. and it is stress. as the homowner says i guess this is what we have to do is worry the ### out of you all 24/7 until some release what is the homeowner. don't you all think we do want our home and keep it in shape. not all homeowners don't care about their property. well final someone did call me Nov 15, after May of trying to talk to someone. chase asked for a claim document for self contracting, where in your paper work is there a copy or a sample of what the heck that is...that is not even stated on line in black and white. you all need to reimburse the homeowner for the stress that they incounter each and everyday just like when a storm comes...chase i thought this department had their act together but i see not. i am from the Texas and we chase release it and release it now...in the name of the man above...
