Easy process. KET-TV website told me exactly what to do and what to expect. Tow truck driver arrived when he said he would. Very careful and respectful towards the donated car. Received email telling me how much car sold for. So happy !

Donating the car was quite easy. I made contact with the organization. Representatives let me know when the vehicle would be picked up. I signed the car's title and the donation papers, and the car was on its way. I am glad that the donation will assist the children at ***.

Our organization has worked with CARS for many years. They make the vehicle donation process easy for both us and for our donors, and are always very helpful if we have questions or concerns. In the rare cases when there are issues, their customer service team works quickly and efficiently to resolve them. We greatly appreciate everything they do for us!

Horrible experience! Wish I could take my donation back. From the start to the end they gave confusing information and completely false, incorrect information about release of reliability! I had to make 4 phone calls before I could talk to someone (the vendor, not CARS) who had the correct information. Not only that, I was never informed about successful pickup of the vehicle or what is happening now.

It was easier than easy. And, from what I understand, easier than some other charitable organization vehicle donations. Friends trying to donate a car the the *** had a prolonged ordeal that required massive amounts of paperwork. The instructions we received were clear and easy to follow, and it all happened without a hitch. I was much happier donating to WFDD than to a local junkyard. I'd recommend it to everyone as a painless way to give.

The *** Foundation has worked with CARS for the past 5 years in partnering to raise funds through donated vehicles. Their program brings much needed additional funds to help support local programs and events for children on the autism spectrum. Ascencia started working with CARS to process donated vehicles last year. We have had great customer service. The overall way our agency can access our profile to track donations, utilize marketing materials, and export reports has been truly helpful. The response time to on the part of CARS staff whether forwarding an inquiry, or whether I need assistance to discuss marketing strategies is quick and immediate. The staff are friendly, and always put the nonprofits best interests in mind.

There could be an optional donate delivery to the trucking company which would save some expense in pick up to get the maximum value to the handler. My scooter was drivable and could have been dropped off to the shipping company even in a nearby city. I provided tie down straps to place and hold the bike on the truck as the truck was equipped to transport cars and not motorcycles.The pickup procedure was perfectly fine and quick even if the driver was not expecting to haul a scooter ( which sold for $1100).

I recently used CARS to process my donation of my old 2006 *** The Process went very smooth, the tow truck operator was timely and polite and I did not experience any problems with the paperwork. I noticed on one of the other reviews that a donor had a problem with the transfer of ownership process. I am not sure what state they were in but in Calif. CARS made it clear that filing this form with the *** was the responsibility of the owner. I was able to easily do this online. I would definitely use CARS again. *** J

The wife has been involved with the *** for the last 20+ years. We have found them to be an honest and straight-forward veterans' organization that means and does what they say. So, when it came time to get rid of ***, it was a far-gone-conclusion that it would be donated to the ***. We found the process that started with a phone call to be seamlessly effortless and ended with a phone call making arrangements to pick-up the vehicle for final disposition. As ***'s reputation attests, the process was honest straight-forward and successful!

I hated giving up my PT Cruiser but "she" had given me good service. Just at the same time *** sent an e-mail about their accepting car donations. I filled out the info on line, and within a Very short time I was contacted with all the information I needed and a date was set for pick up. The driver was in contact with me, and arrived at the exact time he said he would. We did the paperwork of signing the "pink slip" over. Here in California it is up to the owner to inform DMV, which I did. The whole process went very smooth. I also received a Thank You from ***.

I donated a car in April to KUSC that was handled by CARS. The same as in Kevin L's scenario below, they did not process the title transfer and did not register the car in their name. Now I am receiving toll violations for a car I don't own... (or do I still own it?) Perhaps I should go repossess it from CARS? Agreed Kevin. I do not recommend donating through CARS, they do not do their part in the transaction and leave you with the bill while someone breaks the law with a car you don't own anymore. I can't believe this business is actually accredited with the ComplaintsBoard.com. I've sent them the toll bill and expect it to be paid.

We decided to donate rather than sell our *** Pathfinder to our local non-commercial radio station *** in ***, ***. The link at their website connected *** to a CARS agent who took our information and set up a day and time to pick up our vehicle. The driver arrived early and I was not able to be there with my wife to sign the papers. He assured her I didn't need to be there but it turns out I did need to be there to sign. This led to some extra paperwork but the deal got done. The process was otherwise glitch free and after the vehicle sold, our local station benefitted to the tune of over $1500.00. Highly recommended.

As others who have complained, CARS, Inc. did not process a proper transfer of ownership. I received six $40.00 parking tickets. When I complained they said it is the owners duty to make sure the transfer of title is completed. That is not what they instructed in all their pre-donation emails. I was instructed to sign the title and give it to the tow truck driver. After the car was repeatedly ticketed, CARS told me we handle lots of donations and most go okay. If you read the complaints below, you will see that is their response/excuse. I even received a message by mistake on my phone. It was intended for another person who was also having problems after donating their car. They clearly are not properly set up to accurately and legally handle car donations.

Our organization works with CARS as a fundraising partner. We appreciate the ease with which CARS makes vehicle donations possible for our donors. Working with CARS takes both our non-profit organization and the vehicle donor out of the line of liability and cuts down on the amount of paperwork for both parties. Most donations--99.99%--are perfect all around. HOWEVER, things do wrong when working with individual state's DMVs. When that happens, I can count on the amazing staff at CARS to know the minute details of each state's laws, and the ins and outs of title transfers, and I can call on them to correct any situation quickly. The revenue created by vehicle donations is invaluable to the work that we do. CARS is a great partner and their customer service cannot be beat!

This outfit is the worst possible organization to use to donate a car. My vehicle was towed away on Aug 16, 2019. I had to surrender the license plates but that isn't the problem. This crummy outfit NEVER processed the change of title so on Dec 14, 2019 I received a notice of a parking violation in the city of Escondido dated Nov 19, 2019. I notified CARS and they gave me the name and email of Marcus R who it turns out "seemed" committed to fix the situation. However, on or about Dec 17, 2019 I receive a second notice of a parking violation at a different location also in Escondido. Mr R stated in a reply email: "Please allow us a bit of time to address these tickets. There is mailing that is involved and takes at least a week for mail to arrive and possibly another week for the agency to update their systems. These tickets have no effect on your driving record, just so you are aware. Also, if the auction house does not clear you from the tickets, we will take responsibility for them by paying them." Now in late Feb 2020 I received Late Notices on both of these parking violation each with a fine of $101. Obviously this outfit did NOTHING to take care of THEIR responsibility. Don't use this outfit, period.

Like others on this website, I donated a car to my fav charity in early November . CARS handled the donation for the charity. I followed their instructions for transfer of the car exactly, meaning I signed the title and gave it to the tow truck driver. I removed the license plates as instructed. In September , I began to get parking tickets for the car being parked on a street in my city without a license plate on it. The reason is that CARS never transferred title and instead had it towed to CO*** a national auto auction business. CO*** auctioned the car off to a dealer/member. That dealer sold it to an individual on credit without requiring transfer of registration. This much CO*** shared. According to CO***, the dealer does not plan to do anything else about it because the individual stopped making payments. CO*** will not provide me with his/her name. I have received 6 parking tickets to date, each for $40.00. Each tickets says if not paid, it is turned over to collection. I contacted CARS, and Mike R blamed me for not contacting CARS about the tickets before contesting them. Then he sent me an email with a jpig file of an illegible signature on the unregistered title, telling me that covered any liability involving the car. He said this was an inconvenience. NO, this is fraud. The car should have been transferred out of my name. Mike R also said it was not illegal for dealers to transfer autos to other dealers without registering them. The point is, where is the control of this donation process. Everyone got what they wanted along this chain except me. I am penalized for donating my car! CARS should be stopped from handling charitable donations of vehicles.
