Gas disconnected 2/6/24 at above address without receiving any notice.

Became aware on 2/7/24 & began talks with CPE.

CPE advises they found signed form in back of file to transfer utilities back to owner when tenant vacates. Problem: CPE referencing 1200 Wyoming which I sold eight years ago. CPE transferred an outstanding utility bill for 1200 Wyoming to 1407 Wyoming & disconnected utilities.

Again, we don't own 1200. It is owned by a real estate company owning nine other properties. Why seek out a senior citizen & turn off their utilities. Isn't this elder abuse? We are 76 & 73 barely able to pay our monthly bills. Trying hard to put this house on the market. Now with no heat all work stops. CPE readily admit they can see where we sold the home 8 years ago. But yet insist we pay $175 for a reconnect charge, etc. We'll also have to pay close to $800 by the end of the month or shut off will occur again. Scare tactic maybe but doesn't seem like it. No one at CPE will listen. We are concerned our pipes will freeze. How can you treat people like this. The stress of this incident is unbelievable. We are fighting cancer in this family as well. Why? This is clearly your in-house accounting error. Who would authorize such a thing. To me someone should be fired for causing such stress.

You left us with no choice but to pay the reconnect $175 & work out how to get the funds returned to us later by sueing or whatever. Next we find a red/yellow tag on the meter stating gas piping running thru duct work to supply old gas dryer. Home has never had a gas dryer. Now line has to be removed from duct work. More delays. More $$$$. Have to pull permit etc. One roadblock after another.

Lodged complaint with PUCO case no. [protected]. Was also advised to reach out to other agencies which I have done.

Bottom line, we need our utilities back on immediately. We have already had to pay $175 for a reconnect charge which we still can't do & $99 for the 1st plumber now calling a second, for pipe removal, pulling permits, City/County inspections & above all praying pipes don't freeze in the interim.

Desired outcome: Whatever the total cost, we will want total reimbursement. We have been told by authorities we will be due at least that besides all the mental stress.
