This doctor only cares about the money and wants to empty out your pocket, he doesn't care at all about your mouth. But be careful since it seems he is not a specialist, that is all I have to say. He comes across as a not bad doc, but when things go wrong and you have complications he is no where to be found. This is apparently not just in my case. I have nothing good good to say about him. I am very disappointed and offended. It has cost me thousands of dollars to repair his dental work at another dentist.
I am a patient of Dr. Van As, and I feel the posting above is very harsh and unfair. I have had implants done by Dr. Van As and did not experience any of the problems this person complains about. (Yes, implants are an expensive procedure) I was concerned at one point that I might be experiencing a complication, and he came in on his time off to check on it. He was very attentive and professional at all times. Yes, Dr. Van As is away teaching in many different countries with some frequency, but that is because he really knows his stuff. (Which makes me feel comfortable.) The person posting this complaint seems like a very angry person, and I wonder whether this is the first time he or she has fired off at someone without considering both sides. I would like to hear the other side of this story, because it absolutely does not sound like the experience I had!
The complaint made above seems a little harsh. I have been a patient of Dr Glenn van As for 23 years. I have never had an issue with any of his dental work, he does microscopic dentistry I don't see how any thing can go wrong when you're working on someones tooth under a microscope.
One thing I will agree with is that he is not a specialist and he makes that very clear.
I can also say he's not around much from personal experience. If you look at his website you can see he is away for education a lot, that can be annoying sometimes specially when you want to get in to see the man on a specific day or time.
All in all I don't agree with the comment above at all. My entire family has been a patient at Canyon Dental & Laser Skin care and I've been seeing Dr Glenn since I was 2. I've had my braces done with him, I've had fillings done with him and I'm getting my wisdom teeth out with him next month.
It's funny how much hate someone can have towards another person. We're all human and we all make mistakes.
