Natasha I agree with your plan and should be followed but I think it is more then just a dispute for consumer affairs now, this is multiple internet fraud and obtaining money by multiple deception .Graeme and Carolyn Hedge are also avoiding tax in Fiji by laundering income through bank deposits here in Australia.
I say get all information from everyone and give a detail complaint to Federal police Internet fraud section and also your local police station .Give them copies of your complete collection of orders from everyone and also send to Fijian tax department and Police in Fiji, Inspector Tevita asap.
Lodge within our police system and watch them all run to pay everyone back and stop them cold.
Think about this for every complaint on this site there are probably multiple claims that dont even know about this site to vent their frustrations, we must act for everyone and fast.

TRADE PRACTICES ACT 1974 - SECT 58
Accepting payment without intending or being able to supply as ordered
A corporation shall not, in trade or commerce, accept payment or other consideration for goods or services where, at the time of the acceptance:
(a) the corporation intends:
(i) not to supply the goods or services; or
(ii) to supply goods or services materially different from the goods or services in respect of which the payment or other consideration is accepted; or
(b) there are reasonable grounds, of which the corporation is aware or ought reasonably to be aware, for believing that the corporation will not be able to supply the goods or services within the period specified by the corporation or, if no period is specified, within a reasonable time.
The Feds would handle this for us as international interent fraud and because so many of us would act .Just get of your ### and go lodge a statement to local police or online to Fed Police in each state and copy each others complaints with your statement, include this link.
Then watch them scramble and beg to make good our money.Motivation to make amenz will be higher then ever before or least stop them good and well.

An Australian businessman has been charged with obtaining money by false pretense and appeared at the High Court in Suva yesterday.
Graeme Hedge was finally released on a cash bail of $20, 000 by Justice Sithambarampillai Thurairaja after the court found that there had been no strong objection to bail by the prosecution.
Hedge was charged at the Magistrates Court and refused bail.
He is alleged to have falsely duped an Indian company, Dharampal Satyapal Limited, and defrauded them of F$400, 000 by falsely pretending that he could supply sandalwood to India.
Hedge allegedly committed the fraud through false advertisements on the internet.
While applying for bail, Hedge told the High Court he was not a flight risk, had no previous convictions, had considerable assets in Fiji and was willing to provide a suitable surety for the court.
Hedge also said he had millions of dollars invested in Fiji and his wife and two children were all living in Fiji.
However, while responding to the bail application, the State produced an affidavit of Police Detective Sergeant Satish Chand who said Hedge was also being investigated in another case by police. Sgt Chand said Hedge’s claims of millions of dollars of investment in Fiji had not been supported by documentary evidence and should not be considered by the court.
State prosecutorWaline George also urged the court to consider the fact that the applicant could re-offend while on bail as he had previously used the internet as his medium.
Ms George said the interest of the public and the community should be considered as the amount of money involved was substantial.
Justice Thurairaja, while ruling on the bail application, said while he was mindful of the serious nature of the charge, he was of the view that no strong opposition to bail has been submitted by the State.
Hedge has been released on cash bail of $20, 000 but on the condition that he produce three sureties worth $200, 000 each and that his Australian passport be surrendered to court.
Justice Thurairaja also ordered that Hedge not travel out of Labasa without prior permission of the court and not leave Fiji until his case has been concluded.
Hedge has also been strongly warned by the High Court not to involve himself in any more similar businesses over the internet while the case is being dispensed with.

Firstly, how dare you suggest that we are "...all the people holding grudges over small amounts of money...". Does it matter whether the amount of money be large or small?
Or are you so high and mighty on your soapbox, because you are working as a dentist? Does this afford you the luxury to laugh at "small" ($1300) amounts of money?
Secondly, whilst I would not recommend following TNT's advice to go and harrass, and harm, Michael; I believe that the majority of posts here are for the purpose of warning others, and also feeling that we are not alone in losing our money. Furthermore, if Michael is aware of the mis-conduct of the Hedge's and does not bring this to the attention of the authorities, he is culpable due to being an accessory to the crime through deception.
Thirdly, you are very happy and adamant that you have done all your research? I must ask, what manner of research have you undertaken, and for what purpose have you researched this matter? It appears that you have not lost any money here.

a lot of people have paid money and have recieved nothing to date.
There have been hurricanes to delay shipping for months (can't just be an excuse it was on the news)
The company has a no refund policy
a few people have recieved refunds? (that ###, how dare he)
some people have actually recieved the timber they were after (even if there was quite a wait)
TNT is Tim and Natasha and has lied throughout the forum(but still a victim none the less)
the timbermill in fiji is real and has filed police reports about theft of their timber by workers (timber real too)
The warehouse manager (Michael) quit, most likely due to the upcoming lease that would have cost several thousands of dollars which he wouldn't have been able to pay since there was evidently no timber coming to the warehouse.
Michael, the warehouse manager nearly went bankrupt (Yes, I'm that good)
People have been showing up to his house (courtesy of TNT) after he quit, looking for money that the company owes you even though he no longer works there and due to his massive debt (from the lease) wouldn't have been able to afford.
(isn't it amazing what you can find out over the internet)
To be honest i am on the fence as to whether this is a scam or massive bad luck (leaning towards scam just from sheer quantity but there is a hint of doubt, sorry but thats just my opinion)

Dr. Pepper yet another lie Michael did not quit alomost a year ago he was representing himself and ansewring to emails back in October that is six months ago, and not a year ago. Then after New Year he was still picking up his phone calls and never said he no longer worked for Austpacific until we kept on calling and calling. Then he said he no longer worked for them, we then got a friend to call with their number as he did not have their number in his phone and he went along with the phone conversation and never said he no longer worked for them!
This is why we get angry, and if you want I can post all of my contact emails. We handled this in an ethical manner, giving him time to provide the goods, being so understanding and waiting and waiting. We then sent emails requesting our money back, we threatned by letting them know we were going to the ACCC and applying against them through VCAT and still giving them time to give us back the money or provide the goods. As they do not have the wood they must have our money and we are entitled to that money. But then when we found this website and seen what kind of people we were actually dealing with it got us really angry, as we had believed everything he said and were so nice and understanding.
You should see all the emails we recieved and other peoples stories, it is so sad. The information we found out from all the people affected we just posted on here and shared with everyone else. If these people were not scammers and have not done any wrong doing then there should not be any trouble and as a normal form of business. If you cannot provide the goods you need to refund the money. And since your brother owns a business you would know that this is the way you are meant to operate. So the fact that they are not doing this, and that they have done this to sooo many people really adds to the side of them actually scamming people.
You say you done your research? What type of research have you done, how have you been victimised? If you dealt with this mob your research results would be very different to what you are just making up.

Dr Pepper, As you have read previously in this forum I was also ripped off several years ago by Graeme from Austpacific for $4014.
Approx. 2 years ago I spoke to Michael about what happened and for a short while it appeared that I may get my order but that never happened.
I believe Michael was aware of the scam as he has had a long time to realise people have not been receiving there orders.
I have numerous emails from Graeme making promises and only last year spoke to him by phone where he said he would refund my money, I am still waiting.
I'll say it once again.

Dr Pepper this site is here just so we can help eachother out - as the Australian law seems to lack a fair bit in this compartment. Consumer rights should be much better then what they are and it is appalling that so many of us have not had our money back yet nor our timber.
No one should be treated like this, and people that work for these type of people and know what they are like and when they start working along side them, and by the sounds of it they have been doing this to people for at least 2 years, people start seeing them as part of their mob. If Michael wanted to be innocent he should have not stuck around, hasn't he heard of the word whistleblowing. There is much protection there in the legislation regarding whistleblowers so he could have dobbed them in and helped so many of us. i could go on but that was too easy, how about something a bit more difficult.
like the fact that this mike guy actually doesn't work for austpacific anymore, and that he probably quit because of all the people holding grudges over small amounts of money for over a year constantly harrassing him and waiting outside the warehouse to break his legs.
But, it's just as likely he quit because of the company's obvious ### and the cyclones halting all ships in fiji for months on end, which leads to small amounts of money coming in and going by the timeframe, a lease would have been due that would have been several thousands of dollars just to keep the warehouse for another few months of ### and harrassment. Hell, i would have quit a long time ago.
I say this guys lucky if he hasn't gone bankrupt, sounds like he must be the big mastermind behind all of this too me. (note sarcasm)
i have read through all 4 pages of this, whilst i do feel for you people i must say 'TNT' that you are full of it.
you must take up at leat 80% of the posts here and all of them just sound like your trying to make people angrier than they already are with unfounded claims and, well, ###. (see 6 posts above)
just a few examples here.
1) saying you went down yourself and got your money back. obviously a lie to make people harrass him.
2) saying he closely moniters to site, if there was a website about me which was encouraging people to break the law and said that there were people out to get me, i would have reported it to the police. and they would shut the website down. because that's the law.
Something tells me this is about more than money too you, go get another hobby or at the very least stop using the word 'LOL' on a serious discussion board.

Hi everyone, I have spoken with david and louise over last few months who have posted on this board i picked up an order of 440 lm merbau decking in DEC 2009 from Carrumdowns warehouse. Michael did have quite a few orders in warehouse i would imagine he contacted those people to arrange pick-up.
Michael still owes me for 10x 6 mtr merbau lengths which he rang me about in DEC which he did have. Have been trying to contact him since to arrange pick-up but no response. To everyone who has paid money into cf hedge account i can only consider myself lucky as i also paid full amount upfront and never expected to receive timber but finally Michael came through.
If you read this Michael please contact me if you have available as you didnt ring me for nothing?

There is a big cyclone hitting Fiji in the next 36 hours and the predicted path is straight through GH's home town of Labasa. All his assets will be blown away by Tuesday.
If anybody can find a google ad for the Austpacific group please leave it here if I can get google ad and the links etc I can get them banned from Google for life.

I too have been ripped off by this mob, It was back in Dec 09 to the tune of $2000 and have had the usual run around and auto response from the web site and a muffled phone call from Fiji etc.
Well I sent my story off to Channel Nine along with a brief outline of info and a link to this site. Tomorrow I will send pdf's off to the Police inspector in Fiji and also mail copies off to the Victorian Consumer Affairs Dept.
Then I'll think about rocking up to Mr Barbaries House for my refund. I'll quote tim and natash and see whats what.

Another idea is that somebody send a press release to the current affairs radio and TV shows to try and get some airtime. This might lead to more and more people coming forward and therefore more clout to do something. I know our money may be gone but lets do something to get these con artists back.

i had 3 phone calls yesturday about more people getting scammed 2 of these people purchased merbau late december from michael so the message needs to get accross to people that austpacific group is a scam and michael is stealing money from poor hard working familys i feel sorry for some of the people i spoke to that have kids and just deposited thousands into G.H (cocksukerpacificgroup) just before christmas all these dog ### will get there day its only a matter of time they musnt care much about there own family coz realy there the ones in jepordy over all this imagine explaining to your kid michael barbieri that the reason you cant walk or hold your grandkids is because you lied and stole money from alot of people and for what to fill G.H bank account youd hope it was worth it coz your day is coming my friend wether you think you work for austpacific or not it doesnt justify that you stole from us ### YOU ALL ### FROM AUSPCIFIC
