I am a little late to report my troubles here but see that many authors have had the same issue as mine. This company, America Star Books, had published two books for me. When they went out of business the books remained available for sale and I have never seen a single penny beyond my initial contract with them. So now I am issuing a formal complaint and Cease and Desist order. I will be re-publishing these books elsewhere.

Attention America Star Books

America Star Books has ceased primary business operations and is no longer responding to my correspondence or providing royalties statements. This is a violation of my contract terms with your company.

You are hereby ordered to cease and desist listing and selling my titles, and from collecting monies from any entity from any sales of my books in digital and/or physical form.

If you continue to list/sell my mentioned titles, this will constitute copyright infringement.

Picture of me with my books on display at the 2017 Tucson Festival of Books. This was the last event I was ever able to attend due to the company going out of business. Picture is proof of who I am.

Good for you, Meagan! I have had similar problems with ASB and after consulting with an attorney, was advised to take the same steps you have taken. Make sure you send your letter CERTIFIED MAIL, RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED, so you have proof positive that you attempted to give the company proper notice. My return envelope was stamped, NO SUCH ADDRESSEE. I sent a second letter with the same results. So grab back those darling books of yours and fly!

In 2009, Publish America or America Star Books, published my book which Amazon@com continues to promote. PA did pay between February 1, 2009 and July 31, 2009.

I made $13.93 during that 6 month period. Sold 9 books. 7 at $19.57. 2 at $18.54. Was paid 8% per book or book sale.

After July 2009, PA did not pay for the books I sold. I continued to advertise my book using Amazon yet nothing.

It's proof PA paid their authors. However, it's possible the government censored them. I remember becoming very angry at Amazon@com for the money I used to advertise my book at Amazon Books.

Took a long while to find out why Amazon@com continued to sell my book. PA was forced to stop printing. One of many premeditated crimes I deal with!

PA did an excellent design for the books cover. I suspect they were influenced by one Edgar Allan's books.
