I had a terrible experience with AAMCO Transmissions in Columbus, GA.
I took my car there on July 26, 2023.
They informed me that my transmission needed to be replaced. Morris, the on-duty manager, reached out to my warranty company for an approval.
They informed Morris of the remaining amount of funds available on my warranty.
To save me money, Erwin, the owner, offered to rebuild my transmission when he learned of my warranty's cash limit.. Note, I had to add $1,200.00 for a rebuilt transmission.
I discovered that they just replaced my transmission with a used one from the junkyard at 179,000 miles.
However, after receiving my car a week later, I returned with transmission problems within a few days. Constantly, the mechanic stated nothing was wrong. I don’t see any problems.
They acknowledged the faulty transmission after five trips.. Unfortunately, it was worse than before.
Despite having a 6-month/6k mile warranty, Morris said that I had to pay an additional $300 before they would honor the warranty that they issued.
Having my car held hostage, they left me with no choice but to pay.
My car was in excellent condition when I brought it in. They returned my car with several problems..
However, they finally resolved the issue with the second transmission four days later..
Desired outcome: Honor the warranty. Refund the $300. A written apology.
