Recently refinanced using 1st Rate Home Mortgage, process was fast and pain free.. The portal was super useful and the loan officer was knowledgeable and efficient. The hassle with collecting the document and completing the process was down to minimal final closing was a breeze. I completely appreciate this process - and the rates were among the best I got - and more importantly the clearest from day one. I got the exact same numbers I was promised - no hidden surprises at any point.

I echo the previous reviewer's sentiment, Cody from 1st Rate Home Mortgage was so easy to work with...responsive, professional, and transparent throughout the process. We also did a VA streamline to lower the interest rate. There were questions with certain fees...Cody answered all of our concerns quickly and backed up the responses with documentation. We fact checked his responses with a family member who understands the mortgage process and she said "this is a good dude, trust him," we do and so should you, you won't be disappointed. We refinanced our primary and a rental home at the same time with Cody C at 1st Rate Home Mortgage, Inc. and couldn't be more pleased with the service we received. Cody and all that supported the process were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and communicated well. They even sent a closing agent to our home and we closed both loans at the same time on our kitchen table. Talk about convenient! From first contact until close was about 30 days. I have experienced refinancing with multiple mortgage companies, but none of them compare to 1st Rate Home Mortgage. The team at 1st Rate Home Mortgage was extremely helpful and professional. He knew exactly what was needed to complete the refi and didn't require the never-ending list of bank statements, letters, etc. Not only was the experience blissful, but the rates were the same if not better than the previous companies I have used in the past. As any homeowner will confirm, getting tons of refi offers in the mail is annoying and frustrating. However, when we received one from 1st Rate (a company we worked with in the past), we decided to dig further. We spoke with their representative, John Smith, and let me tell you...this was the quickest, easiest, least stressful refi the wife and I have ever done. John made everything easy to understand, and made the process incredibly smooth. Communication was on point through the entire process, we truly couldn't ask for a better experience. We will absolutely be passing his information onto any friends/family interested in a refi, John is the real deal!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. I have had multiple experiences with mortgage companies, and trying to select a good one from the myriad offers I receive in the mail can be daunting. I selected 1st Rate Home Mortgage based on their ComplaintsBoard.com score and reviews, and despite their high rating, they still managed to exceed my expectations. Working with Steve L was an absolute delight. He kept me informed every step of the way, answered every single one of my questions, and delivered everything he promised...he actually made the whole mortgage refinancing process fun! This is a top-notch company, and I recommend them unreservedly and enthusiastically.

I refinanced my VA loan with 1st Rate Home Mortgage in July . My initial contact was Joseph Johnson with whom I worked throughout the process. Joseph is very knowledgeable of the industry and quite personable. He always made time to answer my questions in as much detail as I wanted. I felt that he was looking out for my best interests, and not simply making a living. I dropped my rate from 3.5% to 2.25% with minimal fees, which lowered my monthly payment 18%. A family member refinanced with Joseph and passed his name on to me. Now I am passing his name on to you. 12/31 - Christa K is the best mortgage officer. From the first time I contacted her she was magnificent. She listened to my refi interests and financial needs. She was always there to respond to each step of the refi process either by text, email or phone. In contrast to a sales person she was more of a coach helping us to work through our financial needs for either a 10 or 15 year refi. My wife was skeptical at first with a 15 year refi However, after Christa listened to my wife's concerns in combining our first mortgage with our Helock my wife's fears melted away. My experience with 1st Rate Home Mortgage (1RHM) was a positive one. After much disappointments with a handful of other mortgage companies not being able to offer me a competitive rate with my good credit score, 1RHM was the only one that could. That alone truly says something about them. In fact, one of the mortgage companies actually told me that I was getting an exceptional rate after learning that I got a rate that low without any points from 1RHM; they later emailed me a few minutes later saying they'll beat that rate if I go with them. I thought that was funny. Cody and his team worked with me on my refinance; Cody was courteous, professional, and transparent from day one; he constantly kept me informed on the process and answered any and all questions that I had concerning my refinance from start to finish. Cody Carlson was a great help in refinancing my mortgage. From the start he was very professional and very courteous and displayed terrific customer service skills. He took the time to explain what options I had in refinancing my property and answered any questions I had. Working with Chris H was an absolute pleasure. I normally don't write reviews for anything unless the service I was provided was outstanding or if it was very poor. The service that Chris provided during our VA IRRRL was as literally perfect. From the 1st time I spoke with him to now, he's been nothing but amazing. His knowledge of the industry, communication, and excellent customer service skills made him shine above anyone else I've worked with on a home purchase or refinance. In the last 18 years, my wife and I have bought homes and refinanced several times and he was by far the best. Straightforward and honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy from the start. He would make it a point to keep me updated as we moved through the process and never did I once has to wait longer than an hour for a question I had to be answered. During this time in our economy, rates are at an all time low and while I was receiving three to four mailers a day, I wanted to work with a local and reputable company. They happened to be a veteran owned company, and as a veteran myself, I saw value in seeking their services.
