On January 17, 2022, I was admitted into the Memorial Hermann Hospital system via the Emergency Center in Kingwood, Texas, with increased heart rate, sweating, and fatigue. I am a heart patient having had cardiac bypass surgery August 9, 2022, in Memorial Hermann — The Woodlands.
When I was admitted I was just getting over a severe head/chest cold and my hearing was impaired from blockage. In brief I was very uncomfortable. I made mention of my hearing difficulties to nurses and the doctor who came to my room. Of course, the normal blood work was completed, and I was place on a ringers drip and eventually on heparin when transferred to Memorial Hermann — Northeast in Humble.
During the conversation with the doctor, who was trying to explain my situation, I asked him to repeat several explanations because of my hearing and the masks worn by all. He was trying to explain why I should be admitted to a hospital.
I do not recall the doctor's name, but he became visibly frustrated and yelled at me. He immediately knew he has crossed the line of patience and hurriedly. When he return, he spoke only to my wife refusing to speak to me and left quickly, again.
I understand fully how difficult it can be a medical provider in an emergency situation. I know because I worked in a similar field.
This is not a complaint but a recommendation the doctor be counseled in demeanor with patience. Perhaps, there is someone amiss in his personal life. I certainly hope this issue can be settled and he continue to provide medical help to those in need.
I cannot provide the name of the doctor, however, the nurse, Yvonne, was top notch.
