I received a telephone call from the Cubesmart Store Manager on Sunday, June 9th requesting a manual monthly payment claiming that my bank had denied the automatic payment I told him to wait until Monday (the next day)to make sure the Payment had not gone through. He refused but wanted to verify the last 4 digits of the card I used. I told him that I wanted to check with the bank and he said he had just processed the payment manually and it was approved I said I did not want to be charged twice and he GUARANTEED me that I wouldn't. When I checked with my bank they said they never denied the payment and I was charged twice.
My options: pay $25 to put a stop payment - wait 2 to 3 days for a refund - file a dispute and have my debit card cancelled and wait for a new one.
BE careful of under trained, o·ver·zeal·ous managers at Cubesmart.
