This is the 2nd time I am being bullied to wear a mask to the beer store in st. Catharines tremont. They refuse to recognize the medical exemption on the canadian charter of rights and freedoms. Rather that put up with more bs and rudeness of staff, I simply asked for mask only to have a rather negative conversation continue.. Apparently this store has abusive employees and the original employee who I filed a complaint against the first time still works there despite the complaint being made at head office with a phone message left with president ted moroz.
After accepting the mask I simply want to load my empties in the cart only to have some rude female customer jump right in front of me... She was barely a foot away from me while this stupid manager singles me out without telling her to wait in line... I asked the woman to wait in line so I can get the hell out of this crazy store.. Was this other customer lectured on social distancing? The answer is no. I did not get my money and frankly I don't care.. I walked out of the store because the customers and employees are nuts! The service is horrible at this store.. I have read the reviews below and this seems to be widespread corporate union culture thing... Keep the money... I hate your store.. I will buy my beer at the lcbo... Female friendly. I am not here to be abused by your employees who are breaking laws concerning medical exemptions under the canadian charter of rights and freedoms and yes the st catharines city by law>
Desired outcome: Complaint to be delivered to president of the company.
The Store manager was contacted and this issue was not resolved...I am also called city of St. Catharines directly concerning social distancing issues in the store and the MASK exemption concerning the city of st. Catharines..
I was told that if I refuse to wear a mask, that I would have to make an appoint to deliver my empty bottles...I refused...because the POLICY IS RIDICULOUS and treats MASK EXEMPT customers like 2nd class customers! I unwillingly asked to a mask given that the man was REFUSING to accept my empties..I also want to add that the temperature in St. Catharines on Wednesday May 19 was over 86 degrees F making the wearing of mask extremely difficult and uncomfortable.
I had the same experience at the Strathroy Beer store. They would not allow me to buy beer without a mask on and they said if i didn't leave they'd call the cops haha pathetic. I went to the LCBO after and had great service while not wearing a mask.
