Shannon Hospital review: Rude, disrespectful hospital staff 11

I have a good one! I had mri done on all my spine. Ordered by Vanderzant which was what I wanted cause I was hurting all over. When one goes back for results, you expect Dr to discuss them with you, right? Well no Dr Vanderzant glances through report says something I can't remember, then says“yi yara yi yara" for the rest of report. He said he didn't see anything that bad that I would surgery. I was not feeling good at the time but I didn't ask questions cause I thought, I'm not coming back to him. So he sends me to Dr Hobbs who is just about the same. He looks at results on computer, turns around and does tell me that it's up to me if I want surgery on my lower back asap or wait till it's hurting

A lot more. I ask him, what about cervical? He says,oh, let me check, he says, there's a lot of osteoporosis. And that's it! I checked all the meanings of all the words of report and I have bulging nerve on cervical and something wrong on base of skull from what I can tell . And other things! These two drs seem to be always in a hurry! I know that Vanderzant charged ins for 30 mins and he Was in room for 15 minutes at most. One more thing, Dr Vanderzant has a nurse that of course writes down all your information why your there, then Vanderzant comes in and wants me to repeat everything again so I told him, I already told your nurse it's in my chart. So he looks in the chart. I'm NOT going to do his job! If drs aren't going to treat patients like the oath they took then they need to retire!

Shannon doesn't follow Mr. And Mrs. Shannon legacy anymore, if you don't have insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or just rich yo can forget about good health care. They let my Son die last year because he had no insurance and not the right Dr. Also was not a VIP of the management, Shannon has destroyed health care in San Angelo just like Abilene call it a monopoly I call it communism, they want to be in total control of the health care, in San Angelo but without good Dr's and Nurses all the buildings in the world will not give you A+ care. Look around and think back a few years ago Shannon was in the Red had to sell then all of a sudden they were back in the black?

So my daughter has a surgery coming up tomorrow & she had her pre op appointment today to make sure she was good to go into surgery. Well I had remembered to ask for her shot record because I’m bad at keeping up with them. Well it was towards the end of the visit an I asked for a copy of her immunization record and her doctor asked what is was for, I responded with its needed for pre k registrations. She then informed me that there is always a copy on the last page of the after visits summary. Okay cool I didn’t know that. But then goes outside for a couple mins and I can hear her say “oh I need a copy of her shot record for pre k” in a mimicky voice and then goes I told her they’re always on the last page of the after visit summary to which I heard the entire staff there laugh & she says and we just saw her not to long ago. She enters the room and she hands me it & goes here’s an in depth one and I just stared at it because I was fuming because I didn’t want to cause a scene in front of my kids. And then she goes what’s wrong you’re looking at it a little confused? I go no because I heard you. And immediately started apologizing to me. I stayed silent because I wanted to say so much but not in-front of the girls. She then gives an explanation as to why she said what she said. Her explanation: we get frustrated when we have to print these things out because we have to look thru the whole medical history. So we get frustrated when y’all lose them. And that was just me ranting to my office and unfortunately sometimes y’all can hear it. And I’m sorry. Like what in the actual [censored]? Be professional! Don’t talk about your paitents, simple! & this is not the first time something like that has happened. The rooms are within literal feet of you, how do you not expect someone to hear you saying these things?! Maybe I’m overreacting but geez 😡😡

Some of Shannon doctors act like children, the rest of us are the ones that actually pay for their behavior. So Richeh and Vanderzant don't get along thus if you see one you cannot see the other. Problem rises when you need a test that only one of them performs. Now you cannot return to your old doctor, and Richeh is the rudest man up there, so leaves you with who? Shannon has taken over, Thank Texas for allowing that, and now I can see no one in the neurology department because of their behaviors this is ridiculous, and they all better hope and pray that whatever the heck I have going on isn't going to link back to neurology! I cannot believe this is the US, it feels more like I live in another country where I am told who and what I can have done. Heck, even my insurance company, Cigna, is trying to find me a doctor. So all that to say if you need neurology you might as well seek it outside San Angelo TX!

I agree Dr. Stokes is terrible doctor but Shannon has several just like him ! I worked with him, so I have seen him at his worst !
