Steinmart returns

To whom it may concern
Steinmart reserves the right to deny a refund for any merchandise. See the back of your receipt. This procedure according to customer service is now being enforced. Never once was I told by an associate. But was told its on the receipt by a customer service representative at corporate. And was told sorry. You should have read your receipt. So buyer beware. Is my advice. I will never shop a place who does not honor the customer by informing them. My hard earn money will be spent somewhere else who values me. Especially now during the christmas season. If you buy something and decide to take back something more

Steinmart retail equation warning

My wife was recently flagged by Steinmart in Irving Texas for "return abuse". The public needs to be warned about how ridiculous this new policy is. My wife purchases items and tries them on at home or tries them with other outfits. Returned items all had receipts and attached tags and were unworn. Her so-called "abuse" totaled 14 items returned purchased on 4 separate days totaling $310. Yes that's right, only a total of $310! We have spent thousands, perhaps tens of thousands at Steinmart over the past decade and are now considered abusive for returning $310. Two other people were in line when my wife was warned and both walked away rather than purchase items. Once the public becomes aware of your ridiculous policy, this will definitely have an impact on sales. Hopefully this complaint will reach your Sr. Management who will fire the idiots enacting this policy. As for us, we will take our business elsewhere.

Steinmart service/ coupon

I don't usually go out of my way to make a complaint, but I'm so annoyed! This is the second time in a row where I was told by the cashier that my copoun was not valid for my purchase! Well, it most certainly was, so I left ALL my items and walked out. I was aware that only ONE of my items would qualify, but according to the csdhier it did not...he was wrong! It wasn't even expensive, but its principle. My other non sale items way exceeded the price of my sale item. There was a large table with beach towels with a 50% of sign on the table. I wanted to buy one with my 20% of a sale item coupon. First off...the towel rang up at regular price (19.99). He said he wad aware that they are ringing up incorrectly and can change it to 9.99 BUT I can't use a coupon. He goes on to say they are a door buster sale! That is such BS. I explained that they are not...there is NO sign stating "door buster" and that they were just simply on sale so I can use my coupon. He said Nope, so I said keep everything and im not coming back! Besides terrible customer service, please don't make up stupid reasons that are a lie as to why my 20% will not be honored. I don't like spending my morning shopping and then have such a bad experience...just thought you would be intrtested in knowing how customers are being treated and by the way...if he knew the beach towels were scanning at wrong price, shouldn't that be fixed ASAP? ?

‪Returned a pair of shoes almost a month ago and never got a refund so I've been calling them every week for the past three weeks and every single time they say they're escalating and tell me to wait one more week. I still haven't gotten a refund. Don't give them your money unless you never want to see it again.
