Harris Solutions Group on-line school scam

I applied for a office assistant/concierge postion and called an 800 number to confirm info. I got a representative right away. She asked a few questions and then started asking me about going back to school. Then she transferred me to a senior advisor with the education connection and she asked me more questions, like my age, schooling, financial aid. She wanted to transfer me directly to the school and that is when I goggled harris solutions group and got the scam complaints. I ended the call by telling her this was a scam.
Don't use this group!

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to forewarn others of this problem. I was scheduled to call them this morning and had all sorts of documentation out thinking that this was the "real deal". Needless to say, I will not be calling the number given to me [protected]) at the scheduled time. I've got over 30 years of employment history with one company and was unfortunately layed off. If my previous professional office experience isn't enough for a prospective employer then I guess I'm out of luck. I don't believe that furthering my education is going to help me gain employment as there are many people out there with all sorts of degrees that are in the same boat as myself. Again, thank you all and good luck with your "real" job searches.

I wish I had googled this company and found this information before I called them. Same M.O. as previous comments. I felt very uncomfortable with the requirement to answer yes or no, and felt that the "recruiter" was not interested in my answers, only in pigeon holing me into a category.
Then came the "would you be inetersted in going back to school?" to which I gave a response, and was curtly asked "is that a yes or no?". When I said I couldn't answer with a yes or no lost all interest. The call ended abruptly after 12 minutes, although I was told it would take 40.
I called back and asked to have my details removed from their database, and then was hung up on.
I recommend steering clear of this company, and I hope it saves you wasting your valuable time.

Harris Solutions Group Employment Scam

I applied for a receptionist position with this company after seeing their job listing on CareerBuilder.com. I was redirected to their website where I was asked for personal information (name, address, phone numbers, education, etc.) After supplying this information, I was provided with a phone number to call [protected]) in order to be "pre-screened" by a representative or given the option to set up a time that was more convenient for me. I chose to go ahead and call the number even though I was expected at my daughter's Open House in an hour. I thought it wouldn't take long to verify my information with a representative, but I was mistaken. I was on hold for 45 minutes while I listened to the same recording about application tips over and over. I finally had to end the call. I clicked on the link to contact them through their website and realized there was no other way except to email them through their site. I wrote them explaining what had happened and asked that they contact me regarding the position.

When I returned home from the Open House, I noticed they hadn't contacted me by phone or email so I decided to call them back since they were in a later time zone and would still be available. This time when I called, a man answered. After asking my cell phone number, he explained that this "pre-screening" process would take about 45 minutes to complete. I neglected to tell him that they had already wasted 45 minutes of my time because I am desperate for work. He proceeded to have me verify the information I had previously provided. He asked what my highest level of education was and I replied that I had just completed my Bachelor's degree this month. He asked if I was currently enrolled. This is the part in the conversation where my hopes at this turning into a real job crumbled. I knew where he was going and he certainly did indeed went there. His next question was "Do you have any plans to attend school in the future?"

This company's techniques are extremely similar to Johnson & Armel. This is obviously a bait-and-switch scam. The company pretends to be an employment agency and lists fake job postings that are vague on requirements. Once you send them your information, they spend 45 minutes telling you about how you can increase your job opportunities by getting an education or returning to school. They say that they will pass your information along to the employer, but in all honesty, there never was an employer to begin with. For those candidates eligible to attend school, they are then transferred to an online school representative.

Needless to say, I asked the representative at Harris Solutions Group to remove all of my information from their system. He didn't even hesitate before agreeing or ask why the change of heart and that was the end of our conversation. It was also the end of their credibility as an employment recruiter. Please take my advice and avoid this company at all costs.

I wish all of my fellow job seekers luck as they try to navigate through agenices such as this who prey on the desperate during these trying economic times.

On their Facebook page, Harris Solutions Group lists their address as 3420 East Shea Blvd Suite 200 Phoenix AZ. If you google this address, it shows up on another site as being available for rent ph#[protected] (http://corporateofficecenters.com/OfficeInfo.php?code=SHE). It also shows up as the Davis Douglas Law Offices ph# [protected]. Another business listing this same address is Tech Block Homes LLC ph# [protected]. The more interesting listings that stand out the most to me is the one for Learning Solutions, a business dealing with Vocational Education and The Grammar Doctors, they provide writing and editing of marketing materials such as Web sites, brochures, articles, and blogs for businesses.

I was curious as how so many different businesses could use the same address. As it turns out, the address is in fact for a corporate building. It is actually a conference center and allows businesses to use it at will, provides reception (no wonder you always get the answerng machine), and most important benefit is that it provides VIRTUAL offices. What does that mean? It means that for $175 a year, Harris Solutions group gets a business address (as opposed to using their home address which is what they work out of), Mail delivery and forwarding (again, don't want anyone coming to your home), they get up to 16 hours of office time per month (convenient for those weekly "how can we screw people over" staff meetings, and a receptionist to direct people to your website (since you don't actually exist).

Places like this make it too easy for companies to scam people.

I forgot to mention that another dead give away that this is a scam for online schools is that I was asked prior to the education questions if I had reliable internet access.

Another Scam
Just giving you the interaction with Group of employment, please exercise your judgment before deciding. They will get your profile and call you saying there are offers from big company for you profile. They will list out the names like CISCO, Mindtree, Congnesent, HLL, etc. They will give your profiles as the requirements from the companies (surprisingly it will 100% match with your profile), tell you that above companies are interested in your profile and would like to interview you. They will request you to pay Rs 2000/ a refundable amount while paying they will increase it to around Rs 4500/- through their website http://groupofemployment.com/other-services.html and will say that it will be refunded once you get the offer and join and they will be arranging the interview once the payment is done. If you ask more they will also say that they have a agreement with time of India employment services, when asked why it is not mentioned in their web site they will give some vague answers like, Times of India did not want to publish it. If you tell them no recruiting agency collects money from candidate, they will give the same answer that it will return to you once you join the organization. Your profile will match 100% and the amount is small you will be willing to take the risk.
Many people are there to follow up, another person also came with same above story and asked for the money saying some other companies after I said, I paid the money, he disconnected.
If you pay the amount, then they will ask you set of documents which no recruiter will ask, I am not sure what there are using those documents for. Nothing will happen for one to two weeks. After that they will call you again and say recruiter will schedule the interview through Linked-in and will ask to again open their website (http://groupofemployment.com/other-services.html) to complete the process. When you open the website they will ask you pay another Rs 6179/-. If you ask them why they have not arranged interview as promised while getting the initial money, they will say after you do this only interviews will be arranged.

To many people are wanting jobs and this group is not good. The government needs to investigate this bunch of people. They are destroying what real companies are trying to do that is find people jobs. Employers do not have time to investigate every one that provides this service for them. Maybe the F.B.I. should look into their business pracites.

I filled out some info yesterday. I thought it was strange that they didn't provide information about the company they're hiring employees for, but proceeded anyway. I set up a time today Sat 25 (thought it was odd they were open on Sat) and call at 1:30. I may just call them anyway and have them remove all my information from their system. Thank you for this posting. Glad I found it before continuing to waste time on them.

Oh also Job.com led me to them. Yet they seem to have real companies listed too, much like Careerbuilder.

I've been in Atlanta for 3 months searching on these websites and wasting days at a time, just thinking to myself just be patient and nothing. This is crap. I can't get all of that time I wasted back. You go to businesses and they tell you to apply online so you think that you should apply online for everything. I want to be compensated for my time wasted but we all know that that's not going to happen.

I am a Career Center Advisor, in the business of helping people who are looking for work with their job search activities. I recently stumbled upon an ad on a job search website that would have been a great job for several of my clients, but I cannot apply them to jobs, they have to do it themselves. So I tried doing a bit of research on the company so I could tell my clients who to contact and was unable to find any viable information on the company, not even a website; so already I was leery. I did find this article and comments, and I am glad I did. It is really sad that there are people out there trying to take advantage of people who are down on their luck by baiting them with false hopes!

Wow thanks everyone for the helpful info, I too applied online and thought it was fishy when I got a text message from them asking me to call their 877 number. I then googled them before wasting any of my time since I too have been out of work so long and am desperate so glad this information is out there and had to say thanks for posting and saving me the time and let down! People like this should be ashamed of themselves when so many of us are trying so hard to find work only to waste our time by misleading!

Yikes... Thank you so much! I was about to fall into their trap... I received my first text today and it felt wrong... especially since they didn't call me yesterday as scheduled...I replied to their text with "please remove me from your contact list" and shortly after I received a text saying I have been unsubscribed... So sad that scammers thrive on people who are in need...What I learned is research online before entering your personal information on any site online no matter how legit it may seem... Good luck to everyone! :0)

I filled out the application this morning and when I seen the [protected] number to call I got nervous. So, I googled Harris Solutions and found this page. Thanks to all of you I didn't call. I hope they don't do anything with the information I gave them! It just makes me so angry!
