Be VERY careful with these folks. They claim they have a buyer -- when they don't. They claim you'll get a full refund if your timeshare doesn't sell, and then try to make you agree to the opposite -- ON TAPE!. If you've just fallen for their fast-talking sales pitch -- ACT QUICKLY. Cancel the deal IN WRITING. Call your credit card company and open a dispute case. I got my money back only after acting quickly and putting everything in writing.

Nov. 16, 2009.

Got a call from Salesman #1, Resorts Condos Management, [protected]. He indicated there was a family interested in my timeshare. He confirmed we own a 2-bedroom, lock-out, floating week at Westgate Resort. Would I agree to a $ 26K price? Wow -- I can unload my unused timeshare!

Salesman #1 put me on hold, to talk with Closing Mgr. who also indicated they had a buyer for my timeshare, and needed to run credit card for $1, 497, which they said was a discounted fee for handling the sale.

A few minutes later, I got a call from the Verification Office [protected], [protected] (fax) The Verfication Office wanted me to agree that no one represented that there was an identified buyer for my timeshare. I balked. The VO ended the call, stating I needed to work things out with my sales rep. Closing Mgr. called me back and asked me to take a leap of faith, insisting I had the right to a full refund should the deal NOT happen. Minutes later, the VO called back, and I was then asked by VO to agree that the fee was not refundable. Near the end of the call, I pointed out that I could NOT agree the fee was non-refundable, and with that, the agent abruptly ended the call.

I called back within several minutes and left word, stating I did NOT want to proceed and did NOT want a charge placed on my credit card. I informed them I would consider a credit card charge from them a fraudulent charge.

That night, I talked with Customer Service Rep from Chase VISA, and they indicated there is already a pending charge for $1, 497. He indicated to call back in 48 hours, and if the charge is posted, file a disputed charge claim.

Nov. 17, 2009

Got a call from Resorts Condos Management, indicating they were going to send me a sales contract. I stated that I'd decided against participation, and once gain requested a refund. Company rep pledged to conduct an investigation.

Minutes later, I got a call from Closing Mgr., and I expressed anger over having my credit card charged. I told him Resorts Condos Mgmt. gets an "F" on the Better Business Bureau site, and he indicated they do so many deals, it would be impossible not to have a few complaints.

Nov. 19, 2009

I received an e-mail from RCM with a proposed sales contract. On the sales contract, it indicates we have seven days to cancel the agreement.
I wrote a letter and an e-mail asking the agreement be cancelled and requesting a full refund.

On this same day, we also received a separate e-mail stating a refund has been issued.

Two days later, the 1, 497 charge was reversed.

Bottom line -- these folks want to charge $ 1, 497 to market your timeshare, and if it doesn't sell, you're stuck.

I went thru the same thing that they called saying they had a buyer, but I had to deny that they had a buyer on tape. They took my money for 2 timeshares==I believed the salesman--wrote his name down==David Brewer. The next time he gets back to me his name is David Wade. I have been waiting since Sept 19, 209 for the closing of my timeshares. David promised it to close by the end of this December and now it is Feb. 13th, 2010 and there is still no closing, no money in my pocket and 2 large amounts taken out of 2 different credit card s(David Brewer/David Wade (both had the same voice, said they couldn't take out fees for 2 on one card. Did I have another one? I thought there were tougher laws these days for scamming seniors. But I really so bad wanted to sell the timeshare so that I could get the amount I pay of 504. monthly off my credit card.

I had a similar experience: Back in August of 2009 they called with the same deal -- we have a buyer willing to pay far more than your property is worth! Just agree to pay us and the deal will be wrapped up in 6-8 weeks. I told them I needed to see a contract first. They said they would email and post me a copy but I needed to give them my CC # -- I said, I will give you my number to show that I am interested but I DO NOT give you permission to charge the card. They said, no problem, they would wait to charge the card after they received my signed contract. I never received an email or physical copy of the contract. They also did not charge my card... until two months later: all of the sudden, bam, $1497 straight out of my checking account (was a debit card). I called them, angry of course, and asked them to reverse the charge. I stated they did not have a verbal recording of me authorizing a charge nor did they have a signed contract from me. "Oh, it will take 3-4 weeks to refund the money." -- Today is the 21st of December and still no refund. My bank is now going after them. I am saddened that young people would work for a "company" that blatantly takes advantage of people during this economy. Do not even consider dealing with Resort Condos Management!
