I received many calls from them while i was at work which is one...illegal and two...embarrassing. Without giving me any proof or information about who they were, they tried to collect a debt from me. I have student loans but no more than $3, 000 because i paid out of pocket the rest of the time. Premier tried to tell me my balance was $10, 159 and asked me many times if that could be paid in full right now? I said dude if i could pay that in full right now i wouldnt have any student loans. Then he proceeded to tell me the ONLY other way they could break it down was in 3 monthly payments which would have that over 3, 000 dollars a month! I told him my bill situation that I dont make much money and have to pay rent, electric, car payment, insurance, and other bills which doesnt leave me with more than 300 a month to live on. Not counting gas and food. He said well you can easily pay 250 a month and that leaves you with 50 dollars. I was like WTF i thought they were supposed to work with you? They are a scam. He also tried to say that the company does NOT make any money off of you ...yeah right. they would technically be making about 7, 000 dollars off on this one thing! i told him straight up..."yeah right" and he started getting extremely rude and demanding i pay him today and right now! Nobody give these people any credit card/debit card information as they WILL MOST DEFINETLY drain your bank account. I told him that I did not have a checking account and I only use cash. lol. He probably didnt believe it but whatever I really dont give a f***. I am going to deal directly with who i got my loans through and not these douchbags that are trying to play middle man. So Premier Credit and Paul Jefferson...go f*** yourselves and get a real job and quit hounding people and trying to pull one over on them, its not going to happen here im not that stupid to fall for your tricks. Oh an also when you call someones place of work and ask for employment verification over the phone, and my work tells you to send a written authorization form requesting it because theyre not giving you sh** over the phone, and you say you are going to do it and never send anything at all. It kinda gives your whole scam away...damn at least make up a paper that looks halfway legit. dumba****

A pPemier Credit keeps calling our number saying we were given as a reference by someone. They try to get our name and I told them I don't know these people that was "suppose" to give us as a reference that is when the rudeness starts. In the state of KY you can record a conversation as long as one party knows it is being recorded, which is me, and that is what I am doing. These people are running a scam trying to find out your personal information.I have reported this to the Attorney General and will continue to do so.

My wife had an old debt with the state of Indiana and it was 15 years old, . These lousy SOB's took took to giving her a BANK LEVY on the debt while we were out shopping and that made us have NO funds for buying groceries, no money to pay bills and a bank account with a lot of bounced fees. They refused to negotiate and lift the levy and that caused more grief. They took a 15 year old state tax debt from the Indiana department of revenue and renewed it and they never sent a drop of paperwork informing us that it needed to be paid. Suddenly a levy and no funds at Christmas for the family.

Of course these companies are making profits... they buy "debts" for something like "pennies on the dollar", because the original people who own the debts don't have or want to invest more in collecting. Its not worth it to them, so they sell the "debts" to collection agencies who try to convince people, everyday people that are living paycheck to paycheck that you HAVE to pay them and by the options THEY offer. Its cr*p. They cannot legally call you at work or your employer, they can't legally call you before 8am or after 9pm. And you DO NOT HAVE TO TALK TO THEM! The people who call you are paid by the number of people they "contact", actually speak to on the phone, not by anything they might talk some poor soul into paying. So they make MORE by you hanging up on them and letting them go on to the next phone number.

I learned long ago NEVER give out any information over the phone and that includes CONFIRMING who you are. There is absolutely no way to know who is on the other end of the call: debt collectors or ID thieves. If someone calls me that knows me, and I know them, I'll talk with them sensibly and civilly. Anyone that doesn't know me already, who asks for identifying information to confirm who I AM, are up to no good.

Also, I got a call once and was offered a VERY GOOD deal on something, but when they asked for my social security number, I said I would have to have the offer sent to me in print, so I would know they really were who they said, and the woman offered to get her SUPERVISOR to come and ASSURE ME THAT THEY WERE WHO THEY SAID! I told her I was not going to fall for that one either, and hung up.

There are all kinds of crazies and crooks out there, folks. NEVER give any information out to a stranger. Just don't. LIke I said, if you know someone and they know you, they will already be in contact with you by mail.

I also agree with the statement of paying your school loans to the people you have the contract with, and not third party "sharks".
