I would strongly suggest that everyone avoid this apartment building
at 10030 114 ST NW in Edmonton, Alberta

This building is located on 114 ST NW between Jasper Ave and 100 Ave

The manager is Joan Bendekovics

This building is run by a company called "Pembroke Investments"
which you can find very little if anything about using Google which
is very strange. Ussally you if this is being run by a big company
you can Google their name and find out more information about them
such as a head office or something, but not in the case.

There are many Pembroke Investments out there but they are not related
to the one that is running the two buildings here in Edmonton.

Here are just a few of the issues with in this building.

The heat frequently goes out in the winter time at this building
leaving the residents freezing. It goes well bellow 22 C in the
units and you can be like that for days!

Getting the staff to do any kind of repair to the units is very
difficult and you have to keep hounding the staff to actually
get some one up here to do the repairs and even then sometimes
repairs are not done.

Water is also quite frequently shut off in the building with
absolutely no explination as to what is being done.

There have been many instances of break-ins to vechicles which are
parked on the premises. Management has a camera on the one side of the
building where Joan and J.R. and the other staff park but when
management was asked to put cameras at other spots on the building to
protect the residents vechicles as well they have refused to do so.

In the winter time the parking lot is not shoveled and people quite
frequently get stuck in the Yorkhouse parking lot. The management
refuses to remove the snow from their parking lot in the winter time.

The units are infested with bed bugs and Joan will tell people to keep
their mouth shut about the infestation. She also will not tell people
about this when they walk in to get an apartment here.

The basic management style of the staff here is if you don't like it
then get the f*** out. The staff is absolutely rude towards residents
here and have no people skills what so ever.

Joan will be nice to some one when they walk into her office and she
is trying to rent them a unit here but after that you see a big change
in how she treats you, the same goes with the other staff as well.

Here are some other websites about York House.

http://bedbugregistry.com/location/AB/T5K/Edmonton/10030%20114%20St%20Nw

Over all Just avoid Yorkhouse! It isn't worth your time or trouble to
move into that building you will just end up with a lot of problems.

Also beware that these people have two buildings one at
10030 114 ST NW (York House) and 10025 115 ST NW (Lancaster House)

This building is also infested with bed bugs as well
http://bedbugregistry.com/location/AB/T5K/Edmonton/10025-115-St-Nw/

They are run by the same people so I would avoid both of these
buildings.

Pembroke Investments Ltd. Claims to be under "new management" it is the same company which owns these buildings.
The company is called Northwest Investments. All they did was fire the last incompetent building manager and bring
another one is that is just as bad as the last one. Everyone should avoid all of these buildings which is run by
this company. The new building manager is just a ### and does absolutely nothing to help tenants there are still bed bugs
in the building and still heating issues and window issues in the building. Proper maintenance is not done on this building
the management just does not care. And if you contact any government agencies about the ongoing issues in the building you
will get either a very high rent increase or an eviction notice. Either way they will just try and drive you out of the building if
you complain about the conditions. Also contacting the parent company Northwest Investments has not done very much
good either they are unresponsive, as long as that greedy ### gets his money he doesn't seem to really care
what is going on at the properties he owns.

Mark R. Bernstein is the director for this company and is the primary one running this company.
I believe he is a lawyer down in the state of Missouri.

You can see the Missouri state records located bellow about this company
https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/Filings.asp?189244#

Avoid this company and ALL the properties that they own. There is a total of 5 properties
which this company owns here in Edmonton under the name of Pembroke Investments
and the parent company to Pembroke Investments is Northwest Investments

These are all the properties they own if you know of more please add them here

York House 10030 114 ST [protected]
Lancaster House 10025 115 ST [protected]
The Albany 10155 116 ST [protected]
Hi-Level Place 11005 98 Ave [protected]
Gloucester House 10513 124 ST

Avoid this company and their many shell companies that they use to hide behind
this company is nothing more than a scam and doesn't care about their tenants or
the property.

They frequently run an add in the free Renters Guide that you can get pretty much
on any corner here in Edmonton using the name of Pembroke Investments Ltd.

Don't rent from this company avoid them at all costs!

I have the same experience with Pembroke Investment apartments here in Red Deer, AB. The manager is named IRENE MILDENBERGER. There's a scam that she is doing for a long time now. When you end your tenancy, she will deduct a huge amount on your security deposit. She's saying that the apartment is dirty and that she had to clean it. Worse is she also decides how much is her rate per hour on cleaning it. I filed a lawsuit on her and the company. To all those of you who got the same experience, please file a lawsuit against this lady so her scam would be known here in Red Deer. This lady IRENE MILDENBERGER IS A THIEF!

I lived in the Lancaster - and had more than just bedbugs. And when I brought it up to the management, they threatened me with an eviction notice - saying that I had brought them in (I am an overly clean person - who had bought new furniture when I moved in). They were really nice when I moved in - then became very rude. The maintenance that they do (when the finally get around to do it) - is very shoddy and even dangerous. There is hardly anyone in the office (I just moved out last year, and a co-worker still resides unfortunately in the Lancaster), and when you do put in a request or have a complaint about a problem - the management bites your head off and treats you like you are stupid. The stairwells are disgusting, and during a fire alarm in 2010 - I nearly fell down the stairs on some garbage. The wiring in that place is horrid as well, and they were constantly 'fixing' the boiler. If there was a proper inspector from the city that did a surprise inspection - the city could make quite a bit of money with the fines they could hand out to both properties. Glad I am out of there - but its sick when a company from the states can come up here and rip off Edmontonians. So my advice- stay away from both properties. I was paying $1050/month for rent - and I have seen slums that were better kept.

If you have issues at any Pembroke Investment
properties and you can not get management to
resolve your problem you can contact them about
your issues.

Now this is information that Joan Bendekovics (York House manager) will not give out.

I did my own searching to find this out and
I am sharing this with everyone else now so
if you have problems with this management that
you have a place to report problems to as well.

If it says Chateau Du Mont on their voice mail message don't worry about that. That is one of
Northwest properties locations down in Missouri

This information is confirmed and it is verified that Northwest Investments is the
parent company to Pembroke Investments I have spoken with some one there.
