TOny Starks and Mayrand publishers are trying to scam my company. They say I owe money, but when I ask for proof of the order they cannot produce it. My employees and I have been receiving threatening calls daily. This man and his "company" need to be shut down!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I worked for this company. They operate in Montreal Canada. The key contact is LINDA WILLIAMS; they use their real names telling employees they are legit. They target small businesses. The product is a Hardcover book, a CD-Rom or a web listing or all. It was established in 2001. They call you to update your information then get you a second time on tape agreeing to a price. The word HUNDRED is never used so you get caught. THEY ARE A SCAM. They are also diversifying into other scams.

THROW THE HARDBACK BOOK & CD-ROM IN THE TRASH (THE HARDBACK IS EXPENSIVE SO THEY WILL ISSUE A CALL TAG IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY) THEY CAN DO NOTHING, SAY I'M CALLING THE ATTORNY GENERAL AND HANG UP.

Many would-be authors fall into these pitfalls and not just with I-Universe. There are reputable on-demand publishers, but I don't know exactly how one would avoid misrepresentation, lack of communication, and downright ripoffs. You can tell from some of these complaints the "authors" were lacking in spelling and grammar and probably in good writing skills as well. Some authors do not understand that their subject matter is of no interest to most readers. Well, it's tough being a writer!
I am having the same thing happen also. We never ordered anything and they keep trying to collect on a bogus invoice. This company needs to be shut down.
Be aware of Mayrand Publishers
They are doing the same to my company, they send me a CD that we never order and then they send an invoice number 74861 for the amount of $399.90. Be aware this is a Scam. We never order anything from this Company.
