I am writing this because I've found no other solution. In 2007, our daughter was taken by DCFS. 2 months later, both my gpa and my mom passed away. In Aug, 2007...while having services thru a Private Agency, One Hope United (Formally Kids Hope United) that DCFS referred us too...both my husband and myself were living without power, no heat...and basically powering what we could with a generator. meanwhile, this caseworker INSISTED on making US pay for our services. In Feb 2008, she made us involuntarily sign over guardianship to my grandmother, whom is my daughters GREAT Grandmother. Now, mind you there is 40 yrs between my "Grandmother" and I.
In May, 2008...my husband and I petitioned to revoke guardianship...at which time OUR DCFS/Custody Battle begins. We've had 6 caseworkers in the last 5 years. We've had a few good ones, as well as bad ones. Both my husband and I have completed ANY/ALL services in our given safety plan being rendered...This was completed in July 2012...it was 19 pages. Due to IL and their BUDGET CUTS, and department restructuring...OUR Case once again got handed off to a PRIVATE AGENCY, this time being Catholic Charities. Now, in the past...Caseworkers would normally meet with the parents before initiating contact with the "FOSTER FAMILY" if they were TRUELY working for the family...correct? WRONG. I didn't talk to my caseworker from 9/17 until about MID-LATE October. We appeared in court on Nov. 29th...SHE DIDN"T EVEN AKNOWLEDGE US...and Handed us an UNSATISFACTORY/INCOMPLETE 34 Page Safety Plan. This all coming from someone that has met me a whole total of 3 times, and couldn't even aknowledge me in @ court...yet stand WITH the family that is keeping me from my child although services are completed?!?!?!
This is ridiculous and I'm needing some kind of relief. As of right now, my husband and I both pay individual child support, we pay for our "supervised" court ordered visits (IT had been requested, per last court report FROM dcfs as reporting agency that visitation be Increased and Supervision be decreased) but once catholic charities took our case over...we were backslid and are now being requested that we continue supervised visits...we complete 3 12 step programs a week, we complete substance abuse, anger management, parenting, and counseling as a family. :( Not quite clear on how they can make these NEW SERVICE recommendations when I have a SATISFACTORY COMPLETED Safety Plan SIGNED less than 6 months ago!
SOMEONE HELP ME IF YOU CAN!
My daughter and grandson are going through the same nightmare with caritas. The caseworker never follows through with procedure if it is for the betterment and wellbeing of my daughter and grandson. At one point she insisted my daughter and grandson return to the ex husbands home that my grandson had been removed from by dcfs because of domestic violence. Why because the caseworker had not got around to a safety check of my home where my daughter was living and wanted to have her in home visits with her son. The caseworker was told my home had already been checked and passed. Caseworker was not aware of that but it was friday and she was in a hurry to get off work and she also does not work weekends. So her sage advice was for them to return to home where my daughter had just had her son taken away for not leaving before. My daughter advised the caseworker she was afraid to go back. That caseworker set my daughter up for failure and above all else put my grandson in harms way. Despicable ! She should be in prison. Months later she is to the point of continual abuse and unprofessional misconduct. Now the caseworker and her supervisor have ganged up and are blatantly emotionlly abusing my grandson. This young bullying abuser has been the most evil person to ever enter my grandson s life and we can't protect him from her. THE STATE OF ILLINOIS DCFS sent her to protect him. God help my grandson! SHE DOESN'T WORK WEEKENDS ! And couldn't care less about a childs safety. This is absolutely terrorizing our whole family. We are looking into hiring a private atty to stop her before she gets my daughter and grandson seriously hurt or worse
