I thought of this person, Dennis Stines, as a friend. I would even send him Honey Baked Ham selections at the holidays to show my appreciation of our friendship. My wife and I had dinner with him and Peggy in Maryland when we drove to meet them. I had what I believed was a business and personal friendship with him. I would buy prop kits and other items that I would assemble and offer to collectors. We collaborated on several projects and would call each other daily. At that time Dennis was a rival to federation surplus and I of course defended my friend because it was the right thing to do and because federation surplus made it so easy, you see, he was always on my case about this that or the other.

This story starts on the ASAP forum. I met DStines on ASAP and started buying certain prop kits, upgrades and other materials from him. I was warned by others on the forum to avoid him but I have always tried to judge a person by how they treat me and Dennis was nothing but professional and friendly so I responded in kind. We developed a friendship over a 2 year period that built up to the point where I was comfortable sending him thousands via PayPal for anywhere from 4 to 14 sci -fi prop kits at a time. He was usually very punctual with only the occasional delay and we spoke on the phone frequently, sometimes daily so I

always knew where he was in the process. Heck, at one time, I had so many outstanding orders that we developed an Excel spreadsheet to keep track! UPS was at my door at least once a week with a delivery from him and on occasion, UPS was sending something the other way. There were claims on ASAP about him that at the time, I did not know if they were true but today, I can say with certainty that some, if not most, of them are very true. I will refrain from saying what they are here in the event he decides to pop in here and reply. His only incentive to give me my money in my silence on what those truths are.

At one point, I knew I was going to be out of town and so I sent to Dennis every prop kit that I received (that was built and only waiting on electronics) which was ready so that as he finished a set of electronics, I would email him the person it was to be delivered to. I was able to continue reaching out to clients via the internet and email so I only needed Dennis to finish that last step and then mail them out. He mailed one to one person, that was it. This was partly my fault because I was complacent and didn't really try and find clients and before long, I was home again. It took many months for me to get those partly finished kits back and even then, he didn't return the most expensive part: the lithium ion batteries and battery chargers. Of those, I received less than half. To date, I received non of the electronics, missing batteries and chargers or even
some of the oldest items I ordered, some going on 4 years, namely a Men In Black prop.

I am including a screen grab from PayPal, now while this does nothing more than substantiate that I paid him and says nothing if a delivery was made, Dennis, like me, saves everything like every email, every UPS label/receipt and every record including our XLS sheet. I invite him to show us an invoice from UPS showing a delivery to me (aside from the one where he returns my unfinished kits) or a PayPal refund receipt or just plain old respond to me.

A few weeks ago I was in his home town on business and I stopped by his house. He wasn't home so I left a message with one of his son's. He called me once and left a voicemail. I tried calling him and either he doesn't pick up or he doesn't call back. Emails are a joke. I figure until he pays me back, I will find as many people as I can that might otherwise buy from him and enlighten them to the truth and danger of doing business with Dennis Stines.

He has scammed me out of $140.00 for a Cardiostimulator I paid for via Paypal on 15-Jan-2013. I would love to get my money back or the prop.

It's about getting the items I paid DStines for. Going on a year now. I never got my chess pieces and I am still waiting on my Cardiostimulator . My emails have been left unanswered. He was suspended from The Trek Prop Zone as of yesterday so now it's FRAUD.

That's Dennis with his bad copy of the Batmobile. He did some work for Phase II but is closer to home at John's Starship Farragut. John lets him flog Star Trek stuff off under his account on forums and eBay. DStines does good work but his legend as a A-Hole keeps most away. He boasts as a master bootlegger of Star Trek props. He answers e-mails if you're buying. "As always, please use my Email at DStines@infionline.net for correspondence instead of PM's. This is so I can better organize and keep track of your orders.
My Pay-Pal address is the same as my email."

If you want your money from DStines, you have to catch him. He does major work for James Cawley's Star Trek Phase II in Port Henry, New York. Dennis Stines and his buddy Todd Mustashio are big bootleggers of movie props. Both of these guys are slippery. Good luck, you're gonna need it. Below is a DStines batmobile, that's probably him loading it.

That's like major cash. Never on ASAP and banned on RPF, Dennis Stines or DStines is presently active on the TPZ Trek Prop Zone forum selling a truckload of communicators, medical scanners and Gary Seven Servos from Star Trek.

Good Luck, looks like he used your cash to finance those ventures. :(
