My husband and I found this breeder while searching for our new bulldog pup. After several phone calls, Linda Brown agreed to let us visit her facility. What we found was quite disturbing. New born puppies in kennels with mothers that were not their own in a very dirty room off of the garage. When asked who were the parents of a specific pup, she replied that she couldn't tell me but she had it written down "somewhere". Then we toured the "outdoor facility". Dogs upon dogs in wire runs running in their own filth. She kept telling us that the size of the run met AKC standards. There was easily 80 dogs on her property. I never saw her talk to or touch one of them. This is nothing but a low grade puppy mill. Do not buy from this woman - it only allows her to keep doing what she is doing. Most of these dog have to end up in pet stores. If you personally visited the property, you would not buy from her!

Thank you for sharing your story. Its easy to do nothing, but these poor dogs do not have a voice. We need to be their voice. Thank you!

I bought my bulldog from Linda and she lived to almost 12 years old. Very healthy girl with no health issues, the vet always commented how healthy she was especially once she was elderly. She died suddenly a few months shy of being 12 from what we believe to be a cardiac event, which is very common for the breed. We always kept her active and watched her weight as well.

I originally contacted Linda several months ago about a future puppy and asked her to explain her process and let us know her breeding history. She answered every question at length and then we drove out to her facility to see the puppies she had available. The puppies were clean and appeared healthy and happy. We decided to purchase one from her when it became old enough to leave and picked up the puppy last weekend. She gave us a tour of her property after we asked her if it was okay and she introduced us to the dogs she had onsite. The kennels were clean and the dogs came out as she was calling them by name. After we brought the puppy home and took him to our pet to be examined, he was given a clean bill of health. Linda was patient with us and extremely responsive to our numerous calls/emails and she even sent videos that we requested. We are excited to have him and would buy again from Linda without hesitation.

About a year and a half ago I went to this facility because I had found THE dog on her website. I had just kind of been looking around for a bulldog, but once I saw my baby, I knew that I needed to take him home. When we first got there, my skeptical fiance fell in love with the same puppy. Although now I was a bit skeptical of the place, I knew I could not leave without him. The whole place seemed very low quality and much like a puppy mill and although I did not want to support this type of place, I already felt a connection with him and needed to bring him home. I told myself that I was saving him from that place. I am just writing now because a few weeks ago he passed away. That's right, at a year and a half old. He just started coughing up blood and the emergency vet did everything they could, but he didn't make it. The vet was so perplexed that she did a pro bono autopsy after she got off work. She was still perplexed, but we sent off samples of the lung tissue to a lab to see what they could find and it was inconclusive. The information I got was that something must have make his lungs fill with blood, either a part of his lung died off or a blood vessel burst in his lung, thus filling his lung with blood causing him to choke. This is not normal for a young dog. He was the sweetest dog in the entire world and he was always by our side and now he is gone. I fully blame her for breeding unhealthy dogs, but at the same time, I know that if she did not breed those exact two dogs, we would have never had our baby winston. I feel a mixed review of her, but I think everyone should avoid her puppy mill, because although you will fall in love with one of her puppies and they will probably be the best dog you ever had, you will be heartbroken when they do not live nearly as long as expected.

I found this breeder while searching for a English Bulldog for myself. By the time I saw these reviews I was already in the process of becoming a bully mommy, so you can imagine my horror at reading this post. After communicating with Mrs. Brown, I must say I was a little worried because through email and brief phone conversations she seemed a bit short with conversations regarding the puppy. Upon meeting Mrs. Brown in person, to pick up my puppy, my feelings were put to rest. She was the sweetest woman and I could tell she was sad to see the puppies go. She gave a bag with the puppies information, the current puppy food, a bag of new puppy food (for transitioning), along with goodies for my Cupcake. Cupcake went to the vet about a day and a half after she came home and the vet said she was in very good health. She is the best thing to happen to me, and I can't wait to get another bully from D-BestBullies! Don't get discouraged from purchasing from Mrs. Linda, she is a very kind, bully-loving woman!

My wife and I began researching bulldog breeders and found D-Best Bullies. After having read all the negative comments posted on this complaints board, we were unsure about D-Bestbullies. I called Mrs. Brown and asked her about the complaints. She said that a few years ago when the state of Texas instated a new breeder law (which she backed), some disgruntled breeders who couldn't meet the new standards attempted to get back at her through this site. I fact-checked her story and sure enough: the first complaint was published on this board in December 2012; the breeder law went into effect in September of 2012 (http://www.dallasnews.com/news/state/headlines/20121202-experts-debate-impact-of-new-texas-licensing-requirement-for-pet-breeders.ece). In addition to that, Mrs. Brown told me that she had been breeding for many years before these complaints appeared, and before then there was never any criticisms.

I further investigated her licensure with the state of Texas by calling the state inspector's office. Mrs. Brown's license is valid: she has been inspected and is in full compliance with no problems. I also called the vet's office she has listed on the website. The vet confirmed to me that Mrs. Brown breeds for health and maintains "one of the best facilities" he's ever seen. Finally, I called the AKC to check her inspection status. The secretary informed me that Mrs. Brown have been inspected and no problems have ever been identified.

We decided to purchase our bulldog from D-Best Bullies and received our puppy about a month ago. We couldn't be happier with our puppy. When we picked him up he was very clean. We received a new puppy bag that had his AKC registration papers, new puppy information kit, a bill of good health signed by the vet (including shot record), a blue blanket, a squeaky toy, and a ziplock bag of Propac puppy food to get us started. Our puppy is well socialized and comfortable around all types of people. His disposition matches well the traits expected in the bulldog AKC standard. Our vet has seen our puppy and is very pleased with his health and build. We have had no health issues as of writing this post (I will update if anything changes). Overall, we are extremely satisfied with D-Best Bullies and would recommend them to any of our friends or family.

I bought a male bulldog from her about 2 years ago. Linda was very helpful through the whole process. I purchased the pup while I was away in Korea and picked him up two days after I got back. She drove half way as I live in San Antonio. She had a bag of goodies for me to take with my puppy and my puppy arrived bathed and smelling real good with no problems. As he got older the did developed real bad skin problem. Which when we took him to the vet discovered it was mange. Vet gave us some meds and it cleared right up within about a month. All in all I love my bulldog and I am very pleased with Linda and the whole experience. I plan on buying another puppy here real soon.

I have purchased 2 puppies, at different times. Linda was very sweet, professional, and honest! Both puppies were in excellent condition, and very clean. I'm now purchasing a 3rd puppy for my oldest sons Christmas gift. My Bullies are healthy, and very smart!
Linda sends a goodie bag for her little babies that include a blanket, toy, food, wipes, ect, along with instructions, and papers.
Sorry someone thinks differently, but I know after dealing with her for over 4 years she cares about each, and every dog she has!

I have purchased 5 bulldogs from Linda over the years, I had to have them shipped because she lives on the other side of the country...She is someone I would trust 100% to buy a puppy from. My puppies arrived HEALTHY, and BEAUTIFUL, and CLEAN every time, and that is why I went back to her! AND they are the sweetest dogs EVER, AND SHE (Linda) is a wonderful, caring, loving woman...she told me about one of her dogs passing away over the phone and she was crying!

I have visited Linda Browns kennel on numerous occasions and have found it always to be clean and the puppies and adults being well cared for. She does have alot of dogs but she has several employees who are there to help. I have seen her love and talk to the dogs as they were her children. I would recommend her puppies to anyone who is looking for a pet. They are people friendly because she spends hours with her babies. They are like children you have some that are naturally healthy and some who are not. You can not blame the breeder for that. She is the best breeder around. We love her and her dogs.

While we did not visit her kennel we were very pleased with the whole experience of purchasing our bully from her. While I am not a fan of how many dogs she has it was clear from the moment we spoke to her that she cares for her dogs. When we met to pick up Big Poppa he was clean, smelled great, had no ticks or fleas, and he came with a wonderful gift bag! The gift bag was a thoughtful one as it contained a blue blanket, blue toys, samples, and it had a baby boy on the front because we purchased a male bully. When we took Big Poppa for his well exam we got nothing but praises from our vet on his quality appearance and health. We have been asked by a breeder if we would be interested in stud services as he is one beautiful bully. We also have been involved with bulldog rescue for years and currently own a rescue bully, so we are always very careful where we buy from. My husband personally called the licensing department to verify she was licensed and spoke with another breeder who has met her at numerous breeding conferences. They had nothing but good things to say about her. We would recommend her and have recommended her to other bully lovers looking for a puppy! The Mart Family

I know Linda & Larry Brown and I usr to work for them at the kennel and also got 2 puppies from them and also bred my dog to theirs twice and have never had any pronlems with any thing. I have recomended them to many people and would still do it. If there is any problems with any of the dogs, they go to the vet. They are always fed right, Daily. The vet comes out and does testing on All dogs and gives All shots. There is not enough good things that I could say about these people at dbestbullies! PHYLLIS COX!

Purchased a pup about 18 months ago from Ms. Brown, Presley was his dad and he came from a litter of 12 so not sure Presley has any breeding issues! Have had no medical issues whatsoever with him and am the proud owner of a great bulldog. Ms. Brown was very helpful during all stages of the buying process, we visited the kennels twice before even making the decision to get our puppy from her and she was very helpful and informative on both occasions. We would not hesitate to buy from her again.

We purchased a female puppy from Linda Brown as well. We drove 6 and half hours to pick her up and she had been in a wired cage in a so called nursery. With all four paws had lasarations to the point it hurt her to walk. We have since been regulars at our vet. Ear infections in both ears. REPEATEDLY ! Major skin issues, we took her to a speacialist at A&M University for test on her skin due to large amounts of hair has come out and never regrown. VETS all said she has Alapesha. Which is genetic. I was told at purchase she was completely heathy but that was far from the case. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on vet bills just to make sure she survived. I love my puppy like my child but it was sad to see the babies all in wire cages above other dogs. My bully has been sick on and off her whole life. I believe it due to the conditions she was born into. I paid ALOT of money so save her life. So sad to think there are so many more still there with no help.

I recently inquired on a puppy from her right before Xmas a white 11 month old male right sounds like the on that landrumiller purchased.. I had been looking for awhile now and since he was around my budget I was please to be getting him. I was upset to find that he had been picked up/purchased before she received my "deposit" but she told me about a 10 month old female who was the kennel mate to the white 11 month old male that i originally wanted she proceeded to tell me she had a bladder infection and possibly a blind eye. (money I would have paid for a puppy went to vet bills but I wouldn't trade her) My heart sank when I seen photos of her I knew she was the one that we wanted to join our family. After a 3 hr drive we did arrive at her facility I was kinda worried about how many dogs they had. I asked to see puppies just in case we didn't want the female we went for who were in the little room off of garage which was clean along with the other dog kennels. We went ahead and took the female home after numerous baths and deodorize shes finally smell clean vs kennel smell (yes we had to pick off a few ticks but i use to leave in the same area and that's something you have to deal/treat with just like fleas) and it's been a month now and 2 trips to vet to find out she is not blind just scar tissue, her bladder and eye infection has been cleared up, and she is one smart cookie who caught onto house training, fetch, and overall a great puppy. I would probably do more research on breeders when we are ready to purchase another puppy. I'm not really into purchasing from a professional breeder (more of a hobby breeder) because I have purchased from pro breeders in the past who had about the same amount of dogs and after visiting the facility I felt that they weren't getting proper care when there's that many dogs to breeders and just like the previous comments I do feel in a way that I rescued my bulldog in the way but we love her! I have personally dealt with Linda brown. Not only was she the easiest person to deal with i felt that her kennels where very clean! Yes there was quite a few dogs but not one dog looked to be hungry in any way. Every dog was well fed and in perfect health. I am very pleased with my puppies that i have bought from her. All of her dogs where as friendly as can be...after i read these wrong and misleading comments i called the spca to speak with them about this manner And was happy to hear that the man I spoke with told me that Mrs. Linda had one of the nicest facilities he had been to and said he would recommend her as he had asked her to breed one of his own dogs. I would highly recommend Mrs linda. and will continue to buy from her. Thanks R.C

We recently purchased an 11 month old male from her. On her website she states, " Buyer has also researched, is knowledgeable of, and the following conditions are not covered in the congenital or hereditary health guarantee: demodectic mange, cherry eye, entropian, "loose hips" skin allergies, coccidian, internal parasites, bacterial or viral infections, elongated soft palette, and nasal snares." We went to pick him up and there were easily 100 dogs on her property. They obviously do not receive any type of affection. It is clear why she does not cover the health issues above! We took our dog to the vet the next day after getting him and he had a lacerations on both front paw pads, an eye infection, his ears had never been cleaned, we picked over 12 ticks off of him, and he has an infection in one of his facial wrinkles. More and more we feel like we have rescued this poor English Bulldog! I too feel that this is just a low-grade puppy mill! It made me so sad to see all the dogs.

I am from Houston and I chose to use Linda Brown for breeding my English Bulldog. This was a HUGE mistake. Upon arriving, I was also shocked by the amount of dogs and conditions. But it was a kennel and a temporary stay for my dog so I agreed to go forward. That was not the issue. The issue was that upon agreeing for breeding, she stated that they would handle all the testing to ensure a sucessful breeding. Well my dog did conceive, but only (1) puppy which is not normal. My vet recommended for me to contact Ms. Brown and ask for testing records on Presley the stud used. Ms. Brown immediately became defensive and refused to provide anything othe sort saying that a lot of her dogs only have (1). This is not my first breeding I know how it works. Not only was she rude and unprofessional, but the fact that she would not show proof of his healthy screenings only goes to show that these people are not following the rules and regulations set forth by the state of texas and should be shut down.
