I have IPhone from Fido and they charge $ 28for 14 text messages on my cell phone bill and when I talk to them they said that is charged from third party so they can't do any thing, and they suggested me this website to post my complaint about the charges. I never sign up for any this kind of service. It was just little IQ question and never mention anywhere that you'll charge for these text messages...but they have charged $2.00/text...

Skill 2 thrill is using multiple numbers to work around the stop request. Highly unethical. check for 88588, 33456, 77277. and others and stop them all, and them express your displeasure to all who will listen. This Co. is silently manipulating all who sign up, and it's not just fido customers. I'll call them scoundrels because stronger words would not be appropriate in this forum

Hi Tak Shing Poon

Have you called Customer Service to get more info?

Sabrina, usually, texting back the number that is texting with just the word STOP will make it stop.

Kahong. I understand your position and as a parent myself, I know that kids can make mistakes. For a first-time event, it can be good to call Customer Service and see if they can help. But on a longer-term, please be conscious that these services will often charge a premium for sending texts. The customer generally has to click at some point on "yes" or "I agree" or something like this, so the best thing to remember is, if I have to agree to a service, let's have a look at the terms. I hope this helps.

Fido needs to take some responsibility as they also make money from these subscriptions. This type of business would only harm Fido reputation and make Fido's customers unhappy.

I have the exact same problem. I discovered that there are 33456Skill2Thrill charges that appear on my son’s cell phone bills. Only after calling Fido and some investigation I discovered that he has subscribed the service without knowing there are charges involved. My son is only 16-years-old and should be allowed to subscribe the service. He thought it was just some fun game. He has absolutely no idea that he was being charged. He did not even respond to those questions he received. He was charged with a total of $34 ($20 in Jan and $14 in Feb 2011) before he stopped the service. I felt that they are taking advantage of innocent kids.

Hello
I've been getting these messages too and i was wondering what i can do to stop these text messages, cause i sent a message to 33456 about a week ago to tell them to STOP and i didnt get these messages for a week. But now they just came back again, so i was wondering if there is any other way to stop these messages.

Hi Lisa.

I am sorry for the charges you encountered. Usually, you need to sign-up for a service before they send you texts, although sometimes, the sign-up or charges are in the fine prints.
As customer service told you, there isn't much we can do for this bill. In the future, you can monitor your daughter's account online and also tell her to either send 1-XXX-XXXX INFO to get more information about the charges she will encounter for texts by the specific third-party provider or 1-XXX-XXXX STOP to stop them

Hope that helps

Elise

I just recieved my 13yr olds cell phone bill which is fido as well and there was 300 dollars worth of third party charges.. it seems no one including fido will help me out to resolve this. Even though its the law you need to be legal age to make charges like this, Fido says theres nothing they can do besides provide me with a 1877 number of the company who charged everything to the cell. And ofcourse trying to get a hold of a thirdparty is just a run around. Fido is allowing these charges and should be helping their customers alittle better in situations like these.

I was charged $16.00 by you, I didn't know what is it, and I would like to canceled it.

Hi there

I am Elise from Fido social media team. These charges are indeed coming from a third-party provider. You can text "STOP" to that number so that the texts will stop.
I hope this will help.

As for the charges, I can look into this if you'd like. Could you please contact me on Twitter: @Fidomobile or give me your email address?

Elise
