When I had recently chose the option of using Tippu Sultan Travels / Welcome Travels, the staff and booking agents were very harsh in their behavior and talks when I was running almost late to reach the bus before its starting time. However, I had reached the bus by 8:45, and the departure time was 8:45. Calls were made to my mobile since I was running due to heavy traffic, which is actually the procedure for a travel company to enquire, but the way they talked was unethical, they had used words like "enna EZHAVUKKU anga nikkireenga ?" Despite all these, the bus was not able to come completely come out of Chennai Contract Carriage Bus Stand before 9:45 and could not even move out of Koyambedu before 10:15. Neither did anyone then apologize or explain for the delay nor did the drivers of the bus have the courtesy to speak in a way they needed to talk. When my friend had to board the bus at Perungalathur, I had told the driver "there comes my friend he will get in" never did I tell him to stop immediately or did I say it too many times, But the reaction the driver gave me was "ethuvom sir ethuvom sir... inga naangale RTO vanthirukkaanu papers kaatittu irukkom.. ithula neenga vera.. ethuvom sir ethuvom sir." The reaction was as if I had continuously told him to stop stop stop and as though finally out of frustration he had given me the answer, although I had told him only once that there comes my friend! If people in the service side of the industry behave in such a way, I do not have an answer how to go on that way. So I consider to give everyone a warning before choosing Tippu Sultan Travels as your carrier since I have had a very bad experience from them.
There have been a couple of times wherein the bus had been late and reached its destination late, but never have I had an unethical talks or experience like this one at Tippu Sultan Travels which made me write on this board.
Very worst service...Fake service don't know why they carrying people's totally it was a cargo travels only
pls give the first priority for the passengers, you are operating bus travels, not a Goods Carrying like a Lorry Transport. Departure time 8pm but you are start a time 8.45 & Arriving time 5.15 but your arriving time 8.30 (because bus held up sales Tax Check post) my other all programs are collapsed. expecting feedback, otherwise i go to complaint. Worst experience with Tippu Sultan travels which was once my favorite, I could not sleep at all due to bugs bite and had developed rashes due to the bites, The seats were not maintained properly lot of mosquitoes and the wait times at nagerkoil was horrible and the bus that was supposed to be in chennai by 5:30 AM in the morning actually came two hours late and i as waiting to get down from the bus. Horrible experience.
Please don't take this travels at any cost . It's totally an unsatisfied travel which I have chose to travel from Monday market ( nagerkovil) to Chennai today 6th Sep 2017 . The operator staffs are behaving very rude, they almost left me as I have told them I will get on the way from Monday market since I always chose this bus service and get board at the same place which I mentioned but today they said ok as previously but I have called them many times . They didn't call me while they going to reach my pick point ... after these struggles they were argued with me and my relatives . And one of the operator were saying online booking na ithutha kadupu, ithuku tha online la vida kudathu .. bla bla bla... with holding a CIGRATE in his hand.. so staff could do anything in bus but passager should not do.. is there a policy then it shouldn't do by anyone... is this a way they giving service n safety to the passager.. previous I used to chose this bus all the time so hereafter I won't and this is the last travel with this operator bus with me as well my whole relatives.. since myself and my relatives are offenly chose this bus.
Reasonable Journey...
I had travelled in tippu sultan travels on may 15, 2015 from chennai to coimbatore. The bus arrived on time around 9pm at perungalathur. The entire journey was smooth and comfortable. I dont have experience in travelling to nagercoil. But to coimbatore to my knowledge Tippu sultan is the best than other operators.
I was not allowed to travel by the bus in which I have booked the ticket to travel till Kaliyakkavilai from Perungulathoor on 12Jan14. The Staff told me that the seat was reserved by some one else and no other seats are available.And also the Staff told that I have to contact Redbus not them as I have booked the ticket through Redbus. Later I have spoken with Rebus and Tipusultan Office staff and I have been given the last seat in the next bus which came almost an hour later. I recommend the viewers not to travel by Tippusultan Travels as it is one of the worst travels and prefer other travels as I frequently travel to Nagercoil/Kaliyakkavilai.
I Travelled from Colachel to Chennai in Tippu Sulthan bus on 04 - Aug- 2014. The Bus departured earlier by 5.30PM instead of 5.45PM, then I called them and caught the bus after crossing 4KMs away from my destination, which makes me irritated. So I recommend not to select Tippu Sultan Travels because they don't care about passengers and not following punctuality.
I travelled from palakkad to chennai in tippu on 20- may-2014 ..the poeple have very bad attitude towards the passengers..They dint provide with the ladies seat even after multiple request..there was no reaction while I was asking him..in addition, the bus was loaded with some goods and blocked the seats in the last 2 rows.. the push back were also not possible for the seats since there were luggage's in the row behind the seat.. The bus was full but still on the way few more passengers boarded the bus..all our luggage's was told to keep with us and the space was utilized to keep the goods.. After crossing valayar, the bus stopped in a petrol bunk and few luggage's were unloaded..for ladies it is not safe as these people dont give a damn care to change the seat. Never ever travel in tippu, the experience is a nightmare.
I strongly agree with the comments given by Nazmo. We came from Nagercoil to Chennai on 31st Aug. Bus departure time 7PM. They came late for 1 hour to the pickup point where we were standing. After the bus started, they stopped the bus in Tirunelveli bus stand for more than 30 mins calling general public for tickets 'Chennai.. Chennai.. vaanga vaanga'. Then stopped for 45 mins near outskirts of Tirunelveli and loaded bunch of banana leaves and many other products at the top of the bus to unload them in Koyambedu Vegetable Market. (i guess the total weight of the goods should be more than the total weight of all people loaded in the bus). Then they stopped in a Petrol bunk and waited for 20 mins for fuel filling and water filling. They actually reached Madurai at 2.15AM (which means 7.15 hours journey from Nagercoil. Even Govt buses will take only 4.30 hours). Then allowed to get in many people in Madurai bus stand. After the bus was full, 3 were sleeping at the corridor of the bus. Then they took another 6.30hours to reach Perungalathur Chennai (this is normal for all Travels buses). Total journey time was more than 13 hours. Staffs were very harsh. I recommend not to select Tippu Sultan Travels even for emergency. Journey was horrible and the bus was shaking like a boat/ship sailing in sea.
