The Biltmore Apartments review: Roach infestation 1

I applied for an apartment in May, 2012 to the Biltmore Apartments at 6207 Melody Lane. I was shown the “Model” apartment and it was absolutely lovely. I put a $250.00 deposit on the apartment at that time and was charged a $45.00 app fee. I was supposed to move in on July 1st. I was never shown the apartment that I was to move. Now I know why. After paying the rent, I was told that they did not have the keys because maintenance had them and was to come back in about 2 hours. I finally received my keys on the 30th of June. No one walked the apartment with me, but a friend of mine. When we entered the apartment (3318), it was about 110 degrees in it. A guy was on the roof fixing the air conditioner and stated that he needed to get a motor from another rooftop. He fixed the air temporarily. After walking into the apartment to inspect it myself, roaches were everywhere, even in the freezer, dishwasher, in all of the door hinges, black roach feces was in the in the carpet with infestation. Many big and small roaches everywhere. I then went back to the office and told them that I was going to go and get some roach spray and that I wanted them to put this apartment down for extermination everytime exterminators came to the property. Well, later that evening after dark, me and a few of my friends went back to the apartment to possibly sweep up these “dead” roaches. Well lo and behold, the roaches were crawling out the front door when I entered, crawling all over the entire apartment. This was very traumatizing to me because I now had no place to live because I was not going to move into a roach infested property. On that Monday after (2nd of July), I went back to the office at the Biltmore and requested my money back. I was given my money back less my app fee. I would like to have that back because the old apartment that I was living in stated that they never heard from the Biltmore to request my old tenant records. I talked to Lee Harris, District Manager over the Biltmore apartments on Friday, the 13th of July. She stated that she is at that property at least 3 times a week. After asking her does she walk her property, she stated that she does. I don’t believe her because if she was in her right mind, she would know that this place has water damage and lots and lots of roaches. I appreciate you listening to me and please either bull doze them down or make these people care about people like me who just wants a nice place to live. I pay taxes, and I hope none of my money is going to THE BILTMORE. I look forward to hearing back from you.

The application Fee is to run your credit report, not to call your previous landlord. You probably won't see that.
