Our company entered into a formal agreement to select and process Thai candidates for ASQ LLC to deploy to their client assignments under the H2B program as overseen by the US Government. After receiving work orders from senior executives of ASQ, Mr. Sean Maggio, Dan Petersen and Ms Marion Chen our company procured the 23 staff requested by ASQ who then advised they were proceeding with the documentation to facilitate our candidates to enter the USA and deploy to the client properties which were 5 star hotels in various locations. It was then we were advised that our company had to deposit a substantial amount into their ASQ account in Washington DC which was done. After some delay from ASQ there were numerous changes in their original work orders changing properties and then locations and after 4 months they became very difficult to contact, phone calls to a call center were not returned, emails were sporadically sent offering platitudes and excuses for not meeting their end of the contract. After another 4 months it was agreed that ASQ would return the monies sent to them as we advised that the candidates we had fully processed and readied to be deployed to ASQ have become concerned for their futures as they had left jobs and have now resorted to borrowing money from their families and loan sharks in order to survive. After explaining the situation to Sean Maggio, Dan Petersen and Marion Chen the Finance Manager they all promised to return the monies and this has not be fulfilled to date, irrespective of the fact the candidates they approved and promised positions with their clients are now becoming destitute having lost their savings and having got themselves into serious debt because of the immoral conduct of ASQ and their senior executives. We have reported ASQ and the individuals to the FBI agency in Bangkok and the DOL in Washington and have an assurance from the FBI agent managing our complaint in Bangkok that they will follow up with our complaint but like all issues which concerns overseas company there seems to be a reluctance to pursue a USA owned entity with vigor... We don't want anyone to be scammed by this company and individuals and we will ensure that their business practices will be widely publicised as we want justice for our disadvantaged candidates...
Hi I am the author of the complaint against ASQ like you our company has not received the promised refunds and have ignored our reminders of their promise to refund. I am contemplating legal action in the USA but the cost is quite high, in the meantime you should contact the FBI and the U.S. Dept of Labor. There's also a FBI website which you can load a report too.
Please let me know of any progress you make and I likewise will keep you informed

This is the latest email from Sean Maggio who has threatened to sue due to the alledged loss of business because of our warning about ASQ LLC not fulfilling their claims and promises and causing hardship to people who have only wanted to experience the culture and work experience under the H2B program as promoted by the US Government but managed by immoral people such as those with ASQ LLC

Just to inform you that US Agencies are not allowed by Law to interfere within legit business relationship(perhaps the system works differently as in Thailand, which can explain why there is no Coup d'Etat in the US).
Just to remind you that we have signed agreement in place between parties involved. If you're unhappy with the developments you need to pay your Lawyers to do the job, it is your right however to sue us in the Court of Law(it wouldn't be a wise decision, however as it's gonna cost you a lot). You don't file complains to several authorities to do the job for free.
One more thing, our DC Law Firm, has already started proceedings against ETOS re. our financial losses related to your Internet campaign.

I believe Sean Maggios comment about the recent coup in Thailand is very unwise and by making an unwise comment could attract him the wrong attention as its a serious offense to criticise Thailand, it's consitution and its government..
This email demonstrates the mentality of Sean Maggio from ASQ, who sent it to another reputable and honourable company who was scammed by ASQ because I contacted the companies principal requesting his cooperation and the sharing of information in order we could bring the immoral people at ASQ to task for their criminal activity. I originally posted the complaint from Thailand and everything you state is exactly what we encountered, post your report on the FBI website ic3 and contact your local FBI office at the U.S. Embassy.. I have been in contact with Mr Alex Natrus whose company in the Ukraine has also been scammed so let pool our knowledge and experiences and bring these immoral individuals to justice...

Yes, American Student Quest - ASQ is a big Scam, we also had been con by Sean Maggio, dan Petersen and Merion Chen. in Year 2013 /2014 for Job deployment for job in five Star Hotels at various state of America. We and our candidates were the victim and lost more than US$100, 000/- until today we get nothing from ASQ. ASQ story is the same everywhere, they con your money and let you down, we got blame from our Applicants, we seek help from our Embassies in America, investigater, American Employmen Bureau, Office for H2B visa deparment in America all they do reply to you is we will get back to you but nothing happen and they don't care any more. We are back in square one.I say the law is weak and so is our own Employment bureau Ministry. I have filed my case since 2014 and now is 2018 and still nothing from the Police CID
In my opinon, first we need help from our Government, like the Ministry of Employment Bureau to write to our Country's Embassy in Washington to do a search and check on ASQ's like Sean Maggio and two others, their office and easy from the immigration for these people or unless their name is fake and God know is possible there are only one or two person using three names, from the phone i spoke to Sean Maggio i m sure he is not American can be from Germany or Czechoslovakia, the one who sign the Agreement name, Mr. Hermioni Kenkin could be fake also. This story has happened with us in Hungary. We applied for US jobs and we had to pay more than 1000 USD to the ASQ. When it turned out there was nothing job and we were victim of scam we got promises from Sean and something Marion but we still haven't seen our money. This was in 2014 January... :(
I am from Jamaica and I am facing the same issue with this so call agency. They keep scamming people of thier money but someone has to be responsible for such act. I will not stop until justice is given.
Our Cape Town - South African based Company, ”Bonelang-Pele Consultants “trading as GUIDED PUSH entered into a contract with American Employment Consultants LLC – ASQ in 2012 with the following people behind ASQ; Sean Maggio – Operations Manager, Dan Petersen – Inbound Programs Manager, Marion Chen - Finance Manager and Hermioni Kenkin – CEO who signed the contract. They offered us 23 positions for two hotels in ABU DHABI. In April 2013 after two postponements for start date, we were told that the hotel cancelled the contract and no reasons were given, and they promised to refund us.
Month after month we heard reasons why there were delays in our refund. We then requested the SA Embassy in Washington to check the authenticity of this company and this is the response that I received: As you’ve noted, the business entity in Washington, DC is the DC Registered Agent. The company is located in Nicosia in Cyprus. They have been registered as a business entity in Washington DC since June 20th, 2012.
Further to this we requested a Investigator in Washington DC to go check out the address for me and this is what he came back with:
Dear Julia:
My Agent visited 2100 M Street today and called me immediately after his visit. He sent me an email after he and I spoke by phone so that you would have the whole picture (see below). To cut to the chase, there is no American Student Quest office at that address. There has never been an ASQ office at that address.
My Agent wrote:
"Hey – just following up in case you want to forward this to your client in South Africa. These folks are total scam artists. I had some misgivings when you told me the address because 2100 M Street is an awfully ritzy address for a so-called student aid place. It’s a stand-alone building right outside of Georgetown.
In the lobby there are only five businesses/associations/organizations listed and American Student Quest isn’t one of them. The woman behind the information counter never heard of them, and when I mentioned that the building seemed a bit short to have 11 floors, she laughed and said, “That is because there are only seven floors.” Which means there is no 11th floor, meaning there is no suite #1112.
I kept on writing to them and in December 2013 out of the blue they refunded 1283.79usd which is not even a fraction of the money collected. Mid – 2014 we were tired of the excuses from them and I told them that we are now requesting the SA Embassy in Washington DC to assist us and we then received the following email from Sean Maggio:
Dear Partners,
As committed, full refunds are going to be completed up to the last penny, no question about that! As you may know however, a first disbursement was already done.
As a result of the latest developments, we had discussed the whole issue with our Lawyers; let me brief you on that
First, they wanted to remind you our intention to sort things out amicably, it's the wisest way.
Of course, we've discussed the refund matter with our former Agent and our Lawyers as well. Decision is that unless we get a refund schedule, we have no option but to go legal.
You have to understand, it is not that we don't actually want to wire you the amount 'immediately' as you ask, simply we have no resources, as we're severely financially hurt due to the several problems we had with our former Agent. I can provide you with the account status copy so that you can understand how critical the cash flow matter is (there are about $2, 000 and the account is actually frozen!).
As a direct result, we have here 2 options, as follows:
1. you decide to ruin our reputation, and then we have no other option but to sue you in a Court of Law and ask for consistent penalties, consistently beyond than the amount to be refunded. At the same time we file for bankruptcy on spot, therefore you don't have to worry about refunds coming anymore, because they will not; you'll have to do them from your own resources in this case. And we'll still sue you in a Court of Law for penalties, of course.
2. You simply let us do the job and complete the refund process amicably. I can assure you that you won't regret that.
As I've already informed you, we're decent people and are not looking for disputes but we'll fight if we'll have to. It's up to you.
We've already decided to contract a Bridge Loan so that we can we can put an end to this mess. I will let you know the developments and will come up with the refund schedule soon as it's going to be released.

Immediately after this email from Sean, Marion Chen sent an extract from their bank account indicating a zero balance and that was the last time we heard from them, they never responded to any of our emails since.
We are no longer interested in their excuses, we have instructed a law firm in SA to start the proceedings and simultaneously reporting them to the FBI

TM "Connect Abroad Corporation" (Ukraine, Kiev, www.cac-ua.com) has faced the same problems with this company. Nobody's placed from December 2013 and we are waiting for the whole refund for our 12 candidates. The above mentioned staff is only lying and promising. When we ask for refund, we receive nothing. Should we not receive refund in full from ASQ, we will have nothing left as to investigate this case with ASQ and to attract liability to executives of ASQ (Sean Maggio, Dan Petersen, Marion Chen and Hermioni Kenkin) in US court.
