I purchased my Swim-Mor Pool in 2002. It cost close to $30, 000. Within two years we had structural problems. This included falling tile, plaster cracks, and loose coping. When brought to their attention as my husband and I visited the showroom and called numerous times we were actually yelled at by the man at the service desk. The service reps were rude, unprofessional and refused to come and see our pool. We had problem after problem, and were denied help. This has been going on for years. After 8 years, the pool looks as if it is falling apart. We have a collection of hundreds of tiles that have fallen into the pool. The plaster has cracks, and also the terra cotta coping can be lifted up with bare hands. It was suggested to us by contractors that we brought in to access the situation that perhaps the cement was not mixed properly. I'm not sure what went wrong, but clearly something is not right. The last pool we had was 20 years old, and not a loss of tile.
We recently contacted SWIM-MOR to make them aware of the situation, and put it in writing because the situation was so bad. We have been getting estimates in the $13, 000-$15, 000 range to fix the pool. We wrote a professional letter to SWIM MOR. The response from the owner took all of two sentences, saying very clearly that the pool was not covered by any warranty. Now, you would think if this man was professional and had any sense of business ethics, that he at least would come to see our pool in person after what we explained in the letter. Our pool is a disgrace, and paying upwards of $15, 000 to fix a pool that is 8 years old is quite unbelievable. I had no other recourse but to post the pictures up on YOUTUBE.COM. Since the owner felt he wasn't responsible to care for us and the problems of our pool, I felt that it was time to post the pictures. You can clearly see that something must have went wrong in the construction of our pool. Why else? I have noticed in other postings that they try to place the blame on the pool owner. We have maintained our pool properly, and nothing could have caused this much damage. It's a shame SWIM-MOR won't take responsibility, nor will the owner bother to find the time to look at our pool. Unfortunately, we had to "one up" them. We actually called SWIM-MOR and told them we wanted an estimate on a swimming pool repair. That was the only way they came out. (We also didn't happen to mention that they built the pool.) It was very interesting to receive the written estimate to correct the pool that they built. Not one for deceipt, but in this case, again, wanted to see what they would charge. How ironic is that?
Please feel free to check out my SWIM-MOR video on YOU TUBE. Also, if anyone would like to e-mail me, I have hundreds of pictures documenting my pool. It is a shame that it comes to this, when the easiest solution would have been to take responsibility for their work. At this point, I just can't stand the thought of anyone being treated the way that we were treated or to give this company any business whatsoever. I stand by my convictions and unfortunately; again, in my opinion, I would tell anyone and everyone to avoid having any work done by SWIM-MOR. Very displeased. PS. Had to post a star to leave a comment, but they are worthy of nothing in my opinion. * I have 100's of photos, they won't download because larger than 2 MB. Will send attachment in e-mail if anyone contacts me.

I built my pool on 2010. I seem to have everyone of these issues as well
To date I have replaced the following. All out of picket by hiring others tovredo my pool
Filter. Undersized and didn't work
Coping fell in along one side. All 50' with the tiling peeling off
Replastered my entire pool as the plaster came off piece by piece

Now my tiles are coming off
If there is a group working on a class action lawsuit please advise
Thank You

i was a mason that did the deck work around the pools for swim mor back in the late 90s into 2001 the owner clark is a real clown, , my money was made for dealing with the homeowner direct and clark wanted a kick back, the final straw was when i was doing a job for them in EHT on a golf course and the homeowner wanted to extend the deck for lounging area but the pool was out of the ground to high and needed a retaining wall, , , the pool company told him he didn't need one well the pool was built 2 feet out of the ground and the forman mike called me yelling and saying why did i tell him the pool was to high, , , because it was i told mike to come down and look at it himself but he wouldn't come down because he knew i would have body slammed him in the pool, , , , that was the last pool i did for these clowns, , , , the best advise i can give all you people is notify NJ CONSUMER AFFAIRS and file a complaint

To the person who is going after Swim Mor legally...how is that going? Here is have a group of people who can back your case with photo's, documented phone calls, along with huges estimates to fix their errors. How much more do you need to go after a company that is taking people on a finacial ride? They take the money and run and are still building pools for people that don't know any better. My pool has been falling apart for the past 6 years. It started with tiles falling off and then one of the walls started moving in, so, there is a huge gap between the coping and the tile. Now I need it all removed and replaced. Yesterday I got a bill from another pool repair company for $8, 000. I almost fell on the floor since the pool is 7-8 years and still under warranty (so the paperwork says)!
What can we all do collectively? I am in if anyone wants to take this further.

We are having the same exact issues as everyone on this board. Grout started cracking within a couple of years around the tile and now barely 5 years plus out, tiles are falling into the pool. The foam "seal" between the coping and decking disintegrated within two years. Horrible, defective product. We are furious.

One year after our pool was built the tiles started coming off. Swim Mor is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. The owner is a crock and will not stand by it's product. It's sales force are liars and the warranty is not work the paper it is written on. From day one of the first service call, they blamed us. Never showed, never reapaired anything! This week I recieved an $8, 000 bill to repair my 7 year old pool that is falling apart since day one of completion. I have left messages and emails and no one calls or writes back. On the few times you get them on the phone, they give excuses and they it is not there responsiblity. Worst Company ever.

We had our pool installed by Swim Mor about 7 years ago have been experiencing the exact same problems of tiles falling off, cracking in the tiles and loose coping. I contacted Swim Mor and they told me they didn't do pool repairs but referred me to a "guy" that they use. I contacted another company, and when I told them my problems they asked me who installed our pool. When I told him it was Swim Mor he kind of sighed, like he's heard this before. He said the main reason for the problems is that Swim Mor uses that foam to "seal" between the coping and the deck instead of the proper "caulking" type material that's designed for that purpose. The foam doesn't keep water out which seeps in under the coping and during the winter it freezes, pushing the coping up and the tiles out. All that has to be pulled up, replaced, and sealed properly. Now, it looks like it's going to cost us $7000+ to make the necessary repairs when all of this could have been avoided if they had just used the proper sealant. The work has to be done or it'll just get worse every year. It's a huge investment as you all know, and I want it fixed before any more damage is done. As for litigation, I don't know what would become of that. By the time it runs it's course it could take years and I want my pool fixed now. I would certainly get on board with any class action litigation though. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or comments.

There isn't a word strong enough in the English dictionary to explain my horrible experience with Swimmor. The owners of the company are some of the most unethical, down-right-dirty people I have had the displeasure of working with. I should have trusted my gut and ran, but instead I was talked into hiring them to do our $80, 000 pool. They will do whatever they need to do to get out of doing repairs or fixing problems they have caused. It is now at the point that every conversation I have with any swimmor person, I record it so that I have proof. They will say one thing to shut you up but they will never follow through with it. Dealing with them is enough to drive a person crazy. I only hope that karma comes back and bites them so hard in the a$$. Their prices may sound great in the beginning but there are so many hidden charges that you are better going to a reputable company not these clowns. Trust me when I tell you, signing up with Swimmor is liking making a deal with devil. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

I've had similar problems with my pool and the poor attitude of Swim-Mor. If I have hear Lauren's voice on the other end of my phone one more time I may have to hit something. Our pool is now 13 years old and we have replaced plenty of tiles and now have rust coming through the plaster. Our next door neighbor has an older pool and hasn't had to do a thing to it.

I am experiencing the same thing! They did my pool in 2009 and now the plaster is crumbling. We've been loosing tiles for 3 years. They told me they don't know what caused it and it would be 5, 000 to re plaster the pool. It's 6 years old! I'm going to email you to see what your outcome was

My swim-mor pool was losing tiles after the third year. I brought this to the attention of swim-mor and at first no one seemed to listen. I called them again after the fourth year brought down more tiles. I was persistent but not nasty. For some reason, Swim-mor came out and checked out the damage and then determined that they needed to rip out all of the coping pavers and tile. The estimates I received to repair the pool were around 5k. Swim-mor replaced it all at no cost to me. They really stood behind their pool with me and that's why I would recommend them to a friend. Not sure why they told you to pound sand. I always get a better response when I use honey instead of vinegar

My pool was built the same time and I am experiencing the EXACT same issues. I am in the process of litigation after dealing with years of their lack of accountability, ingorance and abuse. WE'll see how they do against the legal system.

I am trying to contact you to further discuss. Maybe a class action suit for fraud?

How did it go? Did they repair anything? We all need to keep up on this to stop them from doing this to others!
