The Pep Boys - service / repairs / warranty pro guard

I had taken my Volvo to get the struts replaced at another Pep Boys prior to finding the one in Westminister on Beach & didn't get the problem solved, but Gene took my car in & looked at the struts & they did what they could with Volvo's design flaw. Volvo changed some things on this year of vehicle.
I had some other work done there also & it was just fine & the Service Manager, Gene & his Team fixed my vehicle.
Gene really is a Customer Service Manager & all of the employees/staff there are all very friendly. Some cars are harder to work on than other cars, especially when the manufacturer is to blame. These guys do all they can to get your car back on the road & make sure that you are happy when you leave here, at least that is the experience that my wife & I had here. We will be returning customers of this store!

Chapter 2: the 'work' that this Pepboys did on my Volvo V40 failed & I returned my vehicle w/an 'appointment' made by Gene Shobe & the other 'service manager'.
When my wife who uses a cane to get around got out there, we explained that the work done on my AC system (loose wire) was not soldered & had come undone (AC quit) & the 'AC tech' Phan said that the soldered wire that I did was his work & blatantly LIED. It wasn't even my best soldering, but it worked, but the AC system still failed to work... They refused any type of 'warranty' on their work & then told me that" it was going to be an insurance claim", never did explain that One..., I asked about fixing my driver's side strut that they put on & they told me that they did NOT have the part, amount for that strut, even though I'd made the appointment a week ago or more, so then they just bring my vehicle out of the bay & hand me the keys. I'd asked them to at least 'charge my battery' as the AC loose wire 'work' had caused other problems & my battery wouldn't hold a charge from the loose wire shorting out my voltage regulator.
My car stalled on the way home & we had to pay for a tow.
They may seem 'friendly' at first, but if you have any 'problems' with their shoddy work, they get angry & try to disown anything that they have done.
The tow truck driver said that he'd heard nothing but complaints about ANY Pepboys work & recommended another service garage.
They also refused to give me or my wife a copy of the 'work-order' that my wife signed. A little bit 'illegal' on that one pepboys...
Gene Shobe had also stated that our parts would be in the shop in a couple of days, but he'd also stated that it was going to an 'insurance claim', but refused to say exactly what that meant. I don't think they want to see me or my vehicle again, the way we were rushed out of there...
I WILL NEVER GO TO ANY PEPEBOYS EVER AGAIN & RECOMMEND THAT ANYBODY TAKE THEIR VEHICLE SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Chapter 3:
Talked to Gene Shobe & he said that Pepoys was NOT going to do anything on my car & that we were 'done', even though the other tech/phone jockey stated that my struts parts were in. Gene Shobe refused to give me any of 'the insurance claim #'s or reference or insurance company/claim information.
Now they just hang up on us over the phone.

Chapter 4: Get a call from pepboys corporate & now pepboys wants to redo the struts that they removed & put back on wrong & this is after telling us that "They were done with my car & us"!?! Then they tell us that they are not going to warranty the AC system work they done & now I am having the motor 'act up' after they had supposedly done an injector cleaning, spark plugs & tune up. The 'insurance claim' that Gene Shobe stated it would be turned over to never surfaced, never heard a word from any insurance company & we assume that pepboys just wanted/hoping that us & our vehicle would just go away...
When a person brings their vehicle in to be repaired, that is all that they are expecting is a repair done right & not a bunch of drama.
STAY AWAY FROM PEPBOYS!

Chapter 5: pepboys called us & said that now they wanted to 'finish' our struts after they'd damn near ran us off & said that they were done with our car and kept stating that it would " be an insurance claim!?! They still did not get it right & refused to warranty the electrical work & the tune up/fuel injection service, even though we paid for the 'extended warranty'! They also broke a wire on one of my fuel injectors & just twisted it back together with no solder or heat shrink tape... WTF?!? & refused to even examine anything but the struts & still screwed them up. Guess Chapter 6 will be after small claims court...

Chapter 6: Pepboys store # 0653 had also done a tune up package & a fuel injection service & then unknowingly charged me for an extended warranty service agreement & now they refuse to even look at my vehicle & I am getting 5 codes on the check engine light, all related to tune up/fuel injection. I called & they always state that they'll return my call in a few minutes. 30 minutes later no return call, I call again & get the same 'song & dance'...

PepBoys has taken more than 50 days and is yet to know if it can actually fix my car. However has happily taken my $$$s. I have sent out an email to various people in the company, with no response. Pasted below is the email, with my personal info filtered. I refer to a PDF in the email, which is also pasted below.

You should quiet Pepboys. Its not about service and procedures there, its about scam, how much can I lie and scam the customers. Pepboys is going downhill just like the service.
