Independence Day aka Indy from
Graham and Sandra Baker – Pawfect Bengals Cattery. Indy was to be imported to Australia. I paid $2000.00
for Indy on 05/04/13. I then paid all Vet Fees as required by AQIS and on 25/10/2013 I paid another $761.90 for Indy’s freight.

I received an email from
Graham :- “Hi
Prue

Very upset at the moment. Just got back from the Airport.

Indy is not coming to you today. He is rescheduled for Wednesday.

The cost of the flight is 798.87 not the 339.78”.

I asked for proof of extra
shipping cost and received no reply from either Graham or Sandra Baker. I was told the extra feight had to be paid on
the day of shipping. Payment was refused via PayPal and I was not given any
payment details, so that I could pay Air Canada direct.

Email from Graham “If he does not ship out next week we will be under
weather restrictions here due to cold and it will be hit and miss when we can
ship.

If this will not work in
your schedule we understand and will cancel the agreement”

I cancelled for 2 reasons. First reason.
There being no proof of extra freight charges. I have a friend who had a Bengal shipped to Australia and same airline a
month earlier. Her total bill was just over $700.00 and I also sighted a copy
of her air freight bill.

My second reason is I had asked for the registration/pedigree
certificate and l was told:-

“Here is the situation:

Indy’s TICA registration is pending as I have told you. I have
provided you with his parents’ registration numbers with both TICA and CCA. I
have emailed you a copy of his CCA registration and his championship
status. Therefore there is no excuse not to accept him based on registration”.

I contacted TICA and was informed there was nothing pending for
the Cat, Pawfect Independance Day.

It is the law in the state I live in that ALL entire cats owned by
a registered breeder must be registered with an Australian Cat registry to do
this l required a certified pedigree not an emailed copy.

They agreed too refund me the cost of
Indy the male Bengal less deposit and the freight.
I have not seen a cent of the refund.

The Bakers said “Initial funds have
been returned with a message that this is an invalid bank

Please resend your banking info.

Thanks”.

I contacted bank and
asked them what I had done wrong. The Bank informed me that the banking details
l gave were correct. I sent the details
of another bank account to the Bakers and still no refund has been received by
me.

I did not short change you l paid what you asked for you obviously didnot allow for your
Bank fees for accepting overseas wire transfer as the amount send was what you requested after l paid my banks fees. I paid for vet work as requested you said you would pay final vet check as you could not send him when booked as you didnt have enough money too pay for freight when you got to airport as you had been quoted wrong freight cost. You were twice send bank details and l checked with bank no money had been received in Australia l also checked l had given correct details before sending too you.
As l told you a number of times a certified export pedigree is required too register a
imported cat on to a Australian cat registry not a emailed pedigree with COPY printed over it. If Indy had been send without a certified export pedigree by law he would have
Had to be desexed as he would be unregistered. No breeder should be expected too
Buy a stud that cannot be bred with because it didnt come with certified export pedigree papers. I would like my money refunded which you agreed too

Had to be desexed in my state.
The matter is now in the hands of consumer affairs in Ontario.

Prue, why not tell the whole story...we did the quarantine in Canada at no charge along with the the vet checks., Goverment Vet approvals before departure at our expense. You shorted us on each payment. You were in the hospital and unable to pay or accept him upon arrival in Australia after an 18 hr flight. HMMMM. Not sure what you want me to do...
Independence Day is Registered with The Canadian Cat Association, the only reigistration facility in Canada. His parents are registered with TICA and all info was proveded at time of purchase to you.
The amount you claime dyou paid for shipping is not correct. That was the amount we were quoted by AIR CANADA when we arrive d at the airport . You PAID 350.00
You agreed to the contract even though you never registered as a cattery as we required to fufill the contract, we agreed to let you out of it although we were not obligated to do so, but you had no bank account to send funds to... and to this day have not provided one. Not sure what we ar esupposed to do...Any Suggestions?
