On Feb. 17th, I was shopping in Arrowhead Mall in Peoria, AZ, when I was approached by a man with a free cosmetic gift. He said he had a product that he wanted to try on my eye area to reduce the darkness. So began an hour long ordeal. He showed me the product, gave me the price ($400) and I said "no". Then he bettered the offer, by giving me more products, each time I tried to leave, he bettered the deal and said he was doing it just for me. He indicated that my skin needed this product and that I owed it to myself. I am in my 70's and most of the people in the store were senior woman. Finally, I agreed and purchased the product, thinking the ordeal was over. Then he told me I qualified for a free facial and whisked me to the back room. Another man gave me a facial, using their products, and another hard sale. The same tactics were used, when I said no. Eventually, I left the store with more product than I could use in the rest of my lifetime and a $2400 bill. The ordeal wasn't over yet, however, because after the sale and I signed the credit card receipt, I was given a paper that said I couldn't return the product, but only exchange it. He asked me to sign it and when I questioned it, he said it was only a technicality, and that if the product didn't work, he would take it back. When I tried later, of course, I found out that was a lie. Most of the entire presentation was a lie, I found later. The product can be bought online with a return guarantee. The product itself, was misrepresented and the men who sold it to me, said they owned the company. In researching the company, I found that this was very unlikely. I have been to timeshare presentations before and this was very much like one of them, but the governed by the 7 day rule.
I feel I was preyed on, pressured, misled and victimized by OroGold. They took advantage of a senior citizen, and in fact, target senior seniors.
I would like to return the unopened product for a refund and stop their predatory sales practices.
