This company is NOT REPUTABLE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. More than a month ago my files went missing, but onlinestoragesolution.com will not restore access to them. I have called nearly every day repeatedly, emailed repeatedly, and have been lied to repeatedly that everything would be fixed, was actively being worked on, etc., etc. Bottom line, my files are lost (maybe not technically lost) but they are as good as lost since I don't have access to them any longer. I have left more than a dozen voicemail messages. Not a single one has been returned. AVOID THIS PLACE (or live with the regret of lost files, paying for a service that you can't access, hours upon hours of wasted time sitting on hold.)

I've apparently lost my files on OLS18 as well. They won't return my emails and i found this forum on my way to file a formal complaint. I hope these warnings will help potential consumers.

Oh, my gosh, someone help me please! I uploaded my children's photos, rather all of my photos from back to 2002 and now I can't get into the system. The phone number on their web site goes to some spam survey thing. No email response.

Is there anyone out there who can still get into OLS18?!

I fully agree with TopJimmy.
It OLS18 was working very well when I had few GB on it.
Around 100 GB rsync started failing.
Then I lost files. They were most of them restored by the support. I cannot say that the last ones were not restored as I had rather to rsync them again.
Two weeks later same problem.
I updated rsynch to the latest cygwin version as the OLS recommended Deltacopy version is based on a known bugged version.
It was better for one try. Then again failure, files lost.
At this time I miss half of the nearly 100 files and 350 GB.

If you want my executive summary, jump to the last paragraph. For the details of my story, read on.

I’ve been using OSS for a couple of years. I believe your experience will depend on three things:

1) How new your account is
2) How much data you have
3) Which system they put you on (they are numbered, e.g. OLSxx.com, where xx is the number of your system)

I began on OLS15. I have a relatively large amount of data (~500GB) that I was synchronizing to OSS via an FTP sync tool. After my initial large upload, the sync tool (which ran every night) would take care of changes on the OSS side – mirroring my local copy with the appropriate adds and deletes.

After a while, I started running into intermittent problems – certain files couldn’t be uploaded, and FTP connections to OLS15 wouldn’t work from time to time. The intermittent nature of this turned regular, and I too began “losing” files (they would disappear on the remote side). When I complained, they moved my account to OLS18, and told me I needed to re-upload my files, which I begrudgingly did.

OLS18 worked fine for a while, a few months I think. But then I started experiencing the same issues as I did on OLS15, only downhill faster. There was one incident where my complete directory/file structure on the OSS side completely disappeared, although they were somehow able to get the files to magically come back. About a month ago, however, the whole tree disappeared again, and shortly after that I was unable to access their system at all. A support ticket brought my access back, but not my files. In not wanting to be burned twice, I’m not going to re-upload my files again. They do have a “send in a hard drive, and we’ll load your account with that” option, which I could probably get them to do for free, because of my trouble. However, at this point I’ve given up hope in their systems and have moved on.

Executive summary: It’s not a matter of IF you will have problems with OSS, but WHEN. I don’t know if they intentionally take peoples’ money in the beginning, knowing that over time they’ll have problems, which they will “sort of” fix when they complain (akin to a sort of Ponzi scheme), but the reality is, they are a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen. NEVER upload anything to OSS that you care about, because odds are high that you’ll lose it. For online backups, use something like IDrive, Carbonite, or Backblaze. For online files, use something like SugarSync or Dropbox. If you’re looking for both, with a large amount of storage at a reasonable price, that doesn’t seem to exist, and OSS certainly isn’t it.

You're absolutely right.
This place is a rip off.
You will lose files forever and then you'll regret wasting your time/money/effort.
This page is the first result for "online storage solution scam" on google.
So luckily everyone will come to know.
Again, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE.
