I can't believe that any no one else has been ripped off by OAN since last entry of 9/2006! This is my second attempt to get OAN to take their $8.43 charge off of our phone bill, 2 months in a row! They claim they have my phone # with some other name. I told 'OAN', "fool me once same on you, fool me twice shame on me". If not taken care of by next month, the Better Business Bureau will be hearing from me!

I just noticed for the first time a tacked on charge from OAN on my verizon bill.

I am angry at Verizon for allowing these scam artists to get away with this. There are complaints of fraud and unscrupulous charges all over the internet by this shady outfit.

My bill shows a charge of $7.50 for 1 minute to a number I do not recognize. It doesn't even look like a telephone number.

Verizon and other phone companies should be pressured to protect their customers or face a class action suit.

The same thing happened to me on my AT&T phone bill and my BellSouth bills before they merged with AT & T. Starting in April 2007, a company going by the name of ILD Teleservices, Inc dba Selected Services, Inc. started charging me for Voice Mail Services (Unauthorized)in the amount of $13.94 per month. I was out of town for a while and didn't get around to looking at my phone bills until today. Not only ILD charges showed up. In July OAN Services, Inc. dba YourBillingSolution started charging a VM Setup Fee of $9.07. I Googled both company names and came up with a great many annoyed telephone customers. There are fraud charges being fought in the courts as well. I had been filling out survey for free samples. I am pretty sure that is how they found my information. I am trying to fill out complaint forms with Consumer Reports and Ripoff Reports but can not find their mailing addresses. I am sure there are a whole bunch of people out there unaware of being scammed. I don't know if I will be able to get my money back, but I am no longer going to have the paperless bill and payment plans.

I also got a charge on my phone from OAN for a 1 min call I did not make. $7.57.. I called Oan and they said they would take it off or I believe that is what the guy said since I did not understand him too well and he would not or could not tell me what OAN was. And then I called Verizon and told them and they said they would take it off. And they also said that they could not tell me who OAN was but did accept their bill to me. She said that they come across that we have signed up for some service that gets charged to our account and the funny thing is it is a operater dailed charged ,not directly from my phone... so watch it out there.. I have checked my phone bills to see if this is the first and it was. So watch for those OAN charges that no one really makes

I have been getting charged for this "service" that I don't even know about through my business At&t bill since May of last year! They recorded my voice on some bogus line, saying I agreed to it. Never do anything over the phone that they can change the questions to later!

I also have just gotten a rip off bill to a non-existent number, through Verizon. How much of this nonsense has to occur before Verizon, ATT etc. refuse to do their billing for them? Do they have any actual legitimate business? Or are they strictly there to rip people off for amounts that are relatively small $7.36, in my case), hoping they will ignore it and pay it?

I'm forwarding this and this webpage to NYS Attorneys General office, let's see if that does any good.

OAN is a rip off. Please make certain you report them to your state attorney general's office and FCC. This is a case of phone cramming and it is illegal.

I have been scammed by this company and am so shocked the way Verizon agrees to put their charges on my bill. When I told this to Verizon they told me basically to deal with it myself. When I called OAN, they guy on the phone had the nerve to try and explain to me how the charges are really legit. One thing you can be certain, that if they really thought that the charges were legit, they would not be so quick to agree to refund the money-and hear this, the guy says it will take TWO BILLING CYCLES. This company is stealing from others-they need to be stopped!!!

The same thing happened to me. I didn't notice the change for 8 months because I combined my AT&T local, internet, long distance and cell service into one bill. I am so angry and have only been given the run around by OAN. AT&T says they cannot do anything! I don't know what to do. I can't believe this and have no idea how they got my information. This is ridiculous.

From a fellow victim...there are several of these outfits---Enhanced Billing Services, OAN, ILD, etc., ad nauseum. You can spend 24 hours calling these folks to get a cursory promise of a refund w/in 2-4 billing cycles, OR you can organize a class action suit in your state as I am planning to pursue. EBS was sued in a class action which settled in 2001 and among the many stipulations was that they would refrain from this type of unscrupulous billing. HA! They are making money hand over fist and totally illegally! This is internet fraud, theft by deception, violation of the fair trade practices act (you can pocket 3x what a jury awards you in court!!) DO NOT SIT STILL AND TAKE THIS CRAP!!! File a complaint with the FCC, UTC, BBB and Attorney General in your respective state immediately. After that, look into filing a class action suit in your state and ask for not only compensatory but punitive damages as well, plus costs of the action and attorney's fees. Only drawback to this is the atty seems to make all the money, but at least it gets these robbers out into the light again.

I was scammed too and promptly called Verizon. I demanded for them take the charges off my bill and take matter off with this "OAN RIP OFF services." Tell your phone company that you do business with them and as a faithful customer they need to protect you from these scam artists... DEMAND for the charges to be taken off... the phone company needs to fight with these peopele NOT YOU, period.

Word of advice: Simply take a minute or two to always goes through your bill, and you might want to consider taking off automatic payments options... since phone companies are not protecting us as consumers, given them a "Blank Check" for them to charge or allow charges of all sort is not on our best interest.

I found these charges from OAN on my ATT statement after 4 months of billing, wondering why my bill had gone up over the last few months. Partly my fault for not paying attention to my bill, but mostly this bogus company OAN. I called ATT and had them check my statements and put a hold on those charges. They had billed me each month $8.23 for some sort of enhanced voice-mail, something I never authorized or had even heard of. I don't take phone calls from telemarketers or solicitors. If I don't recoginze the phone number, I don't even answer the phone. There is no way I signed up for "enhance voicemail". I then had to call OAN to have the charges refunded and the "service" canceled. The person on the phone was very quick to reverse the charges and cancel, which leads me to believe that this is what they do - charge people unknowingly and then wait for them to figure it out. All the while, taking their money for some phony service. What a scam. Please check your phone bills. Unfortunately, ATT and other phone companies can allow 3rd party charges on their billing.

I help my 80 yer old mother with her bills and noticed this charge a few months back. I called and they said they would take it off. Dealing with the death of my father and trying to take care of my bills and hers, I'm not sure if they did. This month I noticed it again and called OAN to have it taken off. They were very nice about it (of course) and even gave me a confirmation number. However, they said they couldn't go back and refund past charges. They even gave me a name of a person who they said authorized the service and asked if it was a relative of ours. We didn't recognize the name at all, plus why would they let just anyone call and add to someones bill. That's crazy - and they are thieves.

If anyone comes up with and address, please post it. I want to take this further.

Today I received a phone call from a gentleman who stated he was with the Phone Company and was calling to renew the companies’ yearly FREE publication in the telephone book. He stated that this was just a courtesy call and that the company’s listing in the phonebook needs to be renewed yearly for our number to be listed.
I confirmed with him that this was n fact a FREE service, he confirmed.
He proceeded to explain that he had would have to put me on hold for a brief moment and he would be back on the phone momentarily with another individual from his company that would confirm my FREE listing.
I waited until the gentlemen came back on the line and he explained that all I needed to do was answer a few questions with this automated service. The gentlemen said that he would continue to be on the phone as the automated voice would prompt me to say the name of the company, my name and the companies’ telephone number after the “BEEPS”.
I heard another voice which was a recording, (like he said would) that asked me to state the name of the company “BEEP” : I stated the company name…..
Then the gentlemen who originally called, began to talk in-between the “BEEPS” he would talked over the recorded voice, so all that I could hear or understand was him telling me what to say after the “BEEPS” I could not hear the recorded voice, the gentlemen said to state your telephone # after the “BEEP” I stated my number…..
The gentlemen’s voice proceeded to get louder and louder over the automated voice he then said to say “YES” after the “BEEP” ….
It was very hard to hear the recorded automated voice because the gentlemen voice was too loud and he kept repeating himself over and over to just say “YES” after the “BEEP”.
I finally interrupted him and said that he needed to stop talking during the automated voice, because I did not want to answer YES to something I didn’t understand. He said it was just an advertisement and to just say YES and we will be done with the phone call.
I would not comply and finally he hung up on me, however, I did have a chance to hear the automated voice, which said “ to answer YES if I understood that in 14 days from today I will be billed a 39.95 fee on my phone bill for this monthly service!!!
