Lincare Holdings - harassment by office manager brad

Lincare of Sierra Vista, AZ is the worse oxygen company I have ever had to deal with. I am an active 66 year old woman who has sarcoidosis, bottom lobe of my lung removed and asthma. I try every day to stay active, swimming and riding my stationary bike outside. To do these things I use E oxygen tanks. The doctor gave Lincare a prescription that stated I use 4 to 6 l.p.m. Brad who is the new office manager at Lincare in Sierra Vista AZ has been harassing me since he started working there a few months ago about how many E tanks I use. He has accused me of drug seeking oxygen which is so outlandish it is laughable. My doctor said if I was drug seeking I should drug seek a "good" drug and laughed. This guy has broked the hippa law and I reported him to his boss, since then he is on a vendetta toward me. I have gotten 2 nasty phone calls from him one of which was today, telling me I will not get the oxygen I requested because 12 tanks is my limit. Last week was Thanksgiving so I used 15 tanks and was brought 9 last week so since it was almost 2 weeks I used more oxygen tanks. He told me to find another company and they would not deliver any oxygen the next day! I called the office a couple of weeks before this and he answered the phone and told me at that time that I still had 8 months left before I fell into the Medicare doughnut hole and I can change O2 companies. No oxygen company will take me with just 8 months of them getting paid and a year of not getting paid. This man treats me like a child on the phone and talks down to me. Reminds me of a bill collector. I am his customer! I saw another complaint on the internet in regards to this guy so I am not the only one unhappy with him. I am now on breathing treatments because after our little go around on the phone I am in an asthma event worried about my oxygen. I have filed at least 3 complaints through their corporate offices and nothing has become of them. I have talked to his district manager and we agreed on 12 E tanks a week and nothing was said about C tanks. Brad is saying 12 tanks altogether E and C combined. This was not what his boss and I agreed to. This guy is out of line and is on a vendetta against me.

Refuse to bring my oxygen to me.

I am a long term cancer survivor who has had Lincare halve my oxygen bottle supply as well.I also suffer from asthma.I know EXACTLY how you feel after talking to Lincare's minions!Its NOT, just Brad, honey;the rot goes all the way to the top.The contempt that you feel from these folks is company wide among higher executives.In order for those few with rudimentary consciences to sleep at night, they tell themselves we caused our own problems(probably by smoking).Well, I never smoked a cigarette in my life, nor did I drink, do drugs, or even eat meat when I got cancer at 19.It was a pesticide exposure(house was tented for termites;w/in 6 mos.both dog and i developed lymphatic cancers.)The "treatment"I was then given(radiation)fried my lungs and heart.How I am at fault for any of this I fail to see.I am guilty only of trusting what professional people told me was "safe"(yeah, safe for their bank accounts!) I suspect many Lincare patients are in the same boat;helpless victims of outrageous misfortunes.Even former smokers do not deserve such contempt as Lincare employees heap on them.Nicotine addiction is a harsh master that many never escape.It is a disease, not as much of a "lifestyle choice"as Lincare executives pretend so they can look in the mirror each morning.I have watched people I love struggle desperately to quit.The snide, nasty attitude heartless Lincare employees demonstrate towards patients is obscene.Lincare also cut my bottled oxygen(while still billing my insurance for the concentrator they KNOW I can't use!.)The unhelpful woman at Lincare suggested I call my utility company for help when I told her it blew fuses, heated up my house, +doubled my electric bill! Florida in mid August is as hot as Arizona.Miserable soul, sitting in her AC cooled office, telling a single mom cancer survivor to get help from the worlds least helpful utility!I hope she and ALL Lincare executives spend eternity in a VERY hot place!
I suspect the bottled oxygen is less profitable for them; that is why patients seeking bottled oxygen are getting short shrift.Your experience was so similar to mine that I had to respond;I even had them torture me over billing issues that were not my fault(a years worth!)They make false promises to enlist people, then they proceed to torture their patients.Sadly, we are easy prey for these predators;its hard to fight back when you can't breathe!
Brad is just a small, smelly cog in the whole rotten machine that is Lincare.It goes all the way to the top, I assure you.My mother spoke to Shawn Schnabel, Lincare's president about my situation; her assessment of his character is not printable.What I can tell you in socially acceptable terms, is this;he has as much sympathy for the people that enrich him as an alligator has for its lunch! Prehaps the solution for all of us is to take our cash out of his claws! A company that bribes physicians to use their service, & then shortens patients lives by literally choking their air supply off doesn't deserve to profit from our misery.I am looking into smaller companies.
