Lia Sophia bait and switch

I ordered a bracelet in November from this company's representative in Virginia. I was told I would have it for my daughter's birthday in December. I paid the amount I was told by the representative that I owed for the bracelet. I did not receive anything until late January, when I received a necklace. When I notified them of the mistake, I was told several times by several different representatives that I would have to pay additional money in order to exchange the necklace for the bracelet, which I had already ordered and paid for.
This company appears to be loosely run, and the reps kept calling me by my first name, which I find extremely rude and condescending.

I'm having the worst experience ever with one of the Lia Sophia's reps. I was working with one and decided to buy some jewlery from another co-worker of ours that was hosting a party from her. I had just put in my two weeks notice, so I wrote down what I wanted, she tallied it up ($136), I wrote her out a check for that amount, and didn't get a receipt for it because this was done spur of the moment. I left a couple days after that and waited for my order to be mailed to me.
That was back in Feb of this year. I waited and contacted the hostess when a month went by and she told me she extended her party to try to get more sales, so when the middle of April comes along, I found my check was cashed, so I waited another month and still didn't get my order. Then I contacted the rep and she stated that it would get to me within the following week. It NEVER came to this day.
She claims that my order was deleted (mysteriously..yeah, right!) From the web site and since she couldn't remember my order she would refund me my $. That was over 11 days ago and her I am, no jewlery order and no $ refunded back to me! This has been going on for 5 mths straight now and I'm SO sick of being jerked around when plain and simple, she stole from me under the false pretense of "selling" me Lia Sophia!
I would like to know who or where I can go to in order to get this resolved once and for all!
I am SO upset, frustrated, and disappointed by this whole mess!
Lynn

Dear Mrs. ? in Virginia,
I'm so sorry that you had such a poor experience with lia sophia. The problem is that every advisor is an independent contractor - which means each individual advisor owns her own company. So while you may have a poor experience with one advisor it doen'st mean that every advisor runs her business that way. Did you ever get this situation resolved? I would be more than happy to assist you if not.

Let me know what I can do to make this right for you!

Lia Sophia Cheap Jewelry

I bought a cuff bracelet that tarnished within a couple of months. The jewelry began to turn my skin green. I have bought jewelry for a much lower price that has lasted me for years. their jewelry is a waste of money and time. Also, in order to get it exchanged you have to pick equal or higher value item pay the difference and a $5 shipping fee. It is definitely not worth the hassle.

I buy this jewelry often and love it! Also, items returned w/in 1 yr of purchase for any reason is free to the customer. After 1 yr they charge $5. They also have a lifetime warranty on products, not a big deal to me, since I will never wear the same stuff my whole life except for my wedding ring, but even if the item no longer exists, they will exchange your item w/ something of the same value. Try doing that at Macy's!

I actually had attended a hosted Lia Sofia party by a coworker,
and I did like the variety of designs offered.
I purchased some necklaces and bracelets, the price is low $30-$50.
which I would expect low quality made in china stuff.
Yes you can get similar items perhaps at Kohls for $10-$20,
but is just the convenience of shopping online and browsing through there catalog,
where I can actually pick and choose the color and design to match my each wardrobe.
Just beware the jewelery LOOKS nice and attractive but YES it is cheaply made.

Were you not advised of that when you ordered your item? And do you 'care' for your jewelry? They'll send you a 5$ certificate when they mail you your replacement piece to cover the 5$ you mail them.

Lia Sophia NO JEWELRY

I had a Lia Sophia party in mid August and I have still yet to receive all of my order. My mother had a party at the beginning of October and she hasn't received ANY of her jewelry. We are getting all the complaints from our customers. We cannot get in touch with our adviser, she will not return our calls or anything. Some of our customers are DEMANDING money back and we have no way to get in touch with her. Its getting OLD.

Please if anyone has paid for their jewelry and not received it or a refund please contact me. smarie964@gmail.com I ordered and paid way before Christmas. I would like to start a class action suit against lia Sophia.

I have asked my rep (no help)and called lia Sophia only to get a message they are only accepting emails. So I emailed and got a reply back about 8 times saying they are no longer in business.

Please let's not let them get away with this.

Hi, I am not going to talk negative about any home jewelry company because it all boils down to personal style, and personal experience. I have attented and even hosted for a few my self. Some I hated and some I liked. I recently found out about a new home show company. They take a unique approach to home shows and are very straight forward and if any of you have hosted or viewed other home show companies web sites then you know what i am talking about. Anyways check them out www.JunieOJewelry.com. The only negative thing I could say is that they only do home shows in Central New Mexico and Central Colorado. However, maybe if there are more request to expand outside of these states they will do so. This company was my favorite because there is no long term committment if you don't want it. Do your home show and make your money and be done with it. It was great. I was so lucky to live in Colorado and plan on having another show Dec. 5th. Just for the people that did not like any other home show company this is a great alternative.

wow, i just got invited to a Lia Sophia party, and I already think I won;t be buying anything. i thought that jewelry priced that high would be real silver and would not turn black or green, cause rashes, or break altogether. definately sounds like a pyramid MLM setup to me. somebody must be getting rich off this stuff, huh?

work for lia sophia and i back my jewelery one hundred percent it sounds to me like these advisers that you had are not good ones i have been selling for one year and all my clients exchanges went though just fine and they received their new pieces within in 2 weeks of the return. you need to have the white exchange form that came with your purchase to exchange it you fill it out and dend it you do not have to call custemer service unless you do not understand how to fill out the for and if the price of the item went up you do have to pay the difference because it was not what you originally paid and that should ahve been explained to you. as well as the fact if the item has retired you may get another item at equal value. the first three months of owning you jewelery is the only time it is completely free to exchange. i am so sorry that you had a bad exsperence but if you have a party it is best to go to the site and find an adviser that way cuz they will send you some one who actually works for the company . AND ALSO IF YOU USE CLEANING PRODUCTS WHILE YOU WEAR ANY JEWELERY IT WILL RUIN IT USE COMMONSENSE! NOTHING I OWN HAS EVER TARNISHED BECAUSE I DON'T USE CLEANING PRODUCT WITH MY JEWELERY ON AND IF YOU ARE REALLY CARELESS AND ROUGH WITH ANY JEWELERY YOU WILL BREAK IT BE CAREFUL ALL THESE COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN ARE ALL COMMONSENSE THINGS COMMON PEOPLE USE YOUR BRAINS

Attention Complaints Board. LIA SUX was seen in WalMart at 7:47 pm, purchasing an outfit for her clog dancing class. It was caught on surveillance, she was switching tags on her Kathy Lee blouse with a clearance price tag. In her cart it was reported that she had a silver necklace with matching earrings and a pair of plastic wedge sandals. It has been reported on many an occasion that she purchases all her clothing and "jewels" from walmart and was even seen purchasing a blouse and jogging suit from Walgreens drug store, and then replaces the tags inside with tags from Macys, such as but not limited to INC. Joneswear. Liz Claiborn.Abercrombie. However, due to her fondness of "PIE" she has been seen in the plus size dept at Goodwill and fashion Bug PLUS. It is documented that she submitted an application for both Lia Sophia and Silpada and was denied employment due to a very below average score on the mental evaluation, and was categorized as a compulsive liar with narcissistic tendencies. She can also be seen on Bravo, Fridays at 8pm, in HOARDERS EXPOSED.

Truly, I ABHOR both Lia Sophia and Silpada jewelry. I despise receiving invitations to these parties and any of their ilk. I usually attend these snorefests only to humor the hostess, but I greatly RESENT the fact that my 'friends' have invited me only to USE me to get THEIR OWN FREE HOSTESS GIFTS AND DISCOUNT!

I find ALL of these jewelry companies to sell poor-quality crap at exorbitant prices! I make jewelry myself. I look through the party catalog and nearly choke on the cost of pieces I could make for pennies on their megabucks! I can get MANY gorgeous beads and crystals and sterling and GOLD findings for a FRACTION of the cost of one Lia Sophia STRETCH BRACELET -- and my artwork will not tarnish, chip, turn my skin green or turn my stomach because my checkbook has been raped!

Advice to party-goers: Go to these parties, EAT and DRINK your hostess out of house and home, and DO NOT BUY A SINGLE THING!

I agree with Suzie I also was an advisor for Lia Sophia and she is write Why should you spend so much money an jewelry that
brakes and turns black . MY issue is the shipping they charge 3.80 for shipping to every costumer but the items get ship to one person and why do they have to tax shipping I never heard of that in my life.I don't do Lia anymore is been 2 years and my costumers are complaining about the jewelry and the $5 dollars charge to send a new piece. Why did they paid the 3.80 cents that money should be used at least for your first return.

Hey Suzie,

Really? How much it COSTED? Wow, you are obviously ignorant and probably don't know how to take care of anything. I wear my jewelry every day and it has NEVER tarnished or lost stones. I don't bathe, clean or wash dishes with it on. Newsflash, no one said this was Tiffany's. Go to Macy's or Nordstrom any you will pay the same if not more. I love my jewelry no matter how much it COST!

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPOINTED IN LIA SOPHIA JEWERLY. YOU COULD ACTUALLY GO TO A JEWELRY STORE AND BY GOOD STUFF FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR LISA SOPHIA. IT FADES AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NEEDS TO BE RETAINED. THEY CAN'T ADD HOW MUCH IT COSTS FOR TAXES ON THE STUFF YOU PURCHASE AND HAS TO GET BACK WITH YOU AND IT TOOK A LONG TIME FOR A ANSWER ON HOW MUCH IT COSTED. IT NEEDS TO BE REPORTED TO THE GOVERNMENT.

Lia Sophia None

I am a Lia Sophia customer, I really enjoy the jewelry and I am considering becoming a consultant. I have sold Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple, AVON and I have been to MULTIPLE MULTIPLE home parties. I have noticed a lot of the complaints have been about customer service, bad advisors and cheap over priced jewelry that is "crap". I just thought I would try to clear up a few things

1. Every home party has a minimum order for hostess benefits that is a given.

2. Each advisor is supposed to represent a company they work for with a certain proffesionalisim however they are an independent owner of the company's name and products. So it is up to the advisor to be your middle man between you and the company. They are your go to person, however if they are not the professional they claim to be then it is the customers responsibility to go to to company. I have never dealt with LS direct customer service staff however a company with 35 years of experience I would imagine should have good customer service. If they don't ask to speak to a manager or someone of higher authority than the person you are speaking with to correct your issue. This type of "ladder Climbing" is no different than if you were speaking with any company or business and were unsatisfied.

3. Overpriced Jewelry, a majority of home party product ARE NOT CHEAP! The jewelry they provide is of good quality and you may find that there will be defects with pieces from time to time. They are mass production pieces and it will happen. If this is your FIRST time attending a home party I would suggest getting a catalog prior to attending so you don't feel pressured into purchasing an item that is to high priced for you and then finding the quality to be less than you thought. Before you order the product ask to see it, if the advisor doesn't have it ask if someone in the upline has it, the best thing about home parties it the TRY BEFORE YOU BUY! Also please review this article on the "green finger effect" before making additional suggestions on the rings being cheap with Lia Sophia: http://magazine.gem-fashion.com/finger-turns-green.html

I am not an overly enthusiatic client however I enjoy the jewelry very much! I enjoy the lifetime warranty and before you purchase they tell you to SAVE YOUR RECIEPT! If you are an organized and well put together person you will have a place for "important" paperwork, a file cabinet or some place where you put birth certificates, wedding documents etc...place the receipt there.

I am merely giving suggestions that might help the next person prior to placing a complaint. I can not sit here are say that I have not EVER had a problem with a direct sales company but usually my complaints are with a less than enthusiastic advisor, poor planning, not being prepared and having no clue how to run a business can be MAJOR problems with direct sales. However there are good advisors out there and hopefully if I make the decision to sell I will be one of the good!

Thank you.

Me too I just started selling Silpada and am so excited. Great quality and customer service...AND they always have your back. It is real you can't go wrong! Costume jewelry has its place but when it is too expensive and can cost the same amount as real? Something is wrong there! With Silpada your clients will be the ones that really know their jewelry and appreciate the quality. If someone doesn't like it (some weird reason) send them off. It is okay because you are selling great stuff you don't ever need to beg for business. I actually had my first party and told my friends i don't want them to buy anything, i wanted them to see what i am now selling. Do you think they listened? Nah! they went nuts like all the Silpada parties. I have always loved jewelry and am sooooooo excited discovering Silpada!

Lia Sophia Sucks...always got stuck buying somehting when I went to a friends party. Crap tarnishes. JUNK ! hair wraps around necklaces & you have to cute the hair off to get necklace off :( Return policy sucks who wants to keep retuning for the same junk ! Started selling Silpada now that rocks ! REAL STERLING SILVER NOT NICKLED OR PLATED LIKE LIA SOPHIA JUNK ! I can wear Silpada swimming or a necklace for 5 days straight & my hair doesn't wrap tight & no tarnishing or medal peeling you know why because it's real stuff that Silpada sells & guess what no charge to send it back if your not happy which seldom happens :) Think about it I also make an average of $300-$500 a show for 3 hours of work !

I have purchased some Lia Sophia jewelry after being invited to a few parties--my satisfaction varies- major complaint it is over priced. This is costume jewelry, nothing more. It will break, stones will fall out, etc. This can happen with any jewelry, but my problem is when you are spending more than $80 or $90 for a necklace, it should be made a better quality than the $20 necklaces you can buy at Kohls or any other department store, but it isn't. My favorite necklace had a stone fall out the 3rd time I wore it. Rather than sending it back I went out and purchased some fake stones from the local craft store and fixed it myself. It looks fine and I still have my necklace. If I would have sent it back, I would not have received a replacement but rather a credit for the amount of the necklace. They don't carry these pieces long enough to actually replace the piece for you. So much for the lifetime guarantee. Also the biggest complaint is that the advisors cannot send your piece back and handle this exchange for you. You have to do it yourself. When I asked the advisor about this the answer made no sense. Something about if it gets lost in the mail then they are responsible for it, so they would rather that you deal with this somewhat unlikely occurence. Not very good customer service if you ask me-- when I go to a party and spend over $250 on anything, I expect some customer service from the person who sold it to me. I had the original receipt for my necklace but the problem is that I had purchased a number of things and by the time I needed to send it back, I couldn't figure out which item on the receipt was the one I was sending back! And they have no back issues of the catalogs on line in which to search for it and find the item number and name. Since my "advisor" was going to be no help to me and I couldn't send it back without knowing which piece it was I just fixed it myself. I will buy my junk jewelry at the department store from now on-it is less expensive and just as well made, so if it breaks I won't feel so bad that I wasted my money. And if I am going to spend more than $100 on a piece, I will expect some real gold in it, not plated. So in the end, I like the looks of most of the stuff I bought, but I don't really think it was worth the price. I probably won't buy anymore and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either, mainly for cost and lack of customer service once they have your money.

lia sophia has good quality jewelry. They sell and produce hundreds of thousands of pieces and yes, some are bound to break or have issues but they will happily refund your money (within 45 days) or you can return it and they will replace it. They have a life-time replacement guarantee. This is not a life-time guarantee that the jewelry will hold up for a lifetime. It's a "replacement" guarantee.

I've had jewelry break or tarnish that I bought from high-quality department stores. There is no way they would replace it! My tough luck. At least lia sophia will replace it even if it's five years from now "as long as you have your receipt".

if you are sending the item back after 4 months - the company requires $5 for service fees - But guess what - they send you a $5 gift certificate towards another item.

Guys - after 90 days with a receipt you cant get another item back.

as for the people whose chain broke the first day - things happen - Humans put this jewlery together - BUT GUESS what - you have a life time guarennte and can send it back or get your money back in the first 45 days.

all this information can be found on the back of the reciept

Lia Sophia cheap jewlery

I have attended 2 of these parties and bought a total of 4 necklaces, and two bracelets. Two of the necklaces broke the first time I wore them. A third broke the third time I wore it. I tried to return it (with the receipt) and they said I had to pay a replacement fee of $5. The necklaces were no longer in stock (they change inventory monthly so their replacement guarantee is useless) so I only had the option of picking out another necklace. So much for the guarantee! I think they replace inventory quickly so they don't have to honor the cheap, broken jewelry claims. It is really made cheap, but it looks good. I also got a bracelet about 8 years ago which was guaranteed to never tarnish and they can't replace that either! It is very expensive for what you get-you might as well go to Claire's to get cheap bling.

I for a fact know that they do not change there inventory every month there catalogs last about 6 months. I'm just curious about how long did you wait to exchange your broken necklaces. you have about 4 months to replace without a charge and after that it does cost you $5.00 per item to replace but they give you a $5.00 gift certificate back. They also will honor your bracelet from 8 years ago as long as you have your receipt from 8 years ago this is to validate that you indeed purchase from a lia sophia/Lady Remington agent and you did not buy a piece off of a source for example like EBAY.

I love their jewelry, and their guarantee. They can't carry things forever.
The only think I dislike is the chains on the necklace's. I have the torqoice one and the chain is darker thank the necklace.. Other than that - I'm addicted to their jewelry. They follow through 0n their guarantees-just keep a folder with all receipts.. Problem solved. :)

I just have to say that they do not change inventory every month. Every six months the catalog changes. The most recent release was the beginning of August. Approximately 200 items were dropped and 200 added. There are around 500 total in inventory at any time. That means that 300 have been carried over to the new fall/winter season and are still available.

Lia Sophia is a MLM scheme. The gov't should do something about these pyramid schemes. The jewelry is nothing but bling. Worst of all, you have to BUY the jewelry to make money. The trips you win depend how much you sell: trip for one or two. Say you won a trip for one and want to take your husband. You have to spend your money (or your husband's money) to buy the extra ticket! How is that making money? You're only making the people who OWN the company rich, really rich! Jewelry isn't replenishable. There's only so much jewelry you can buy. And if you don't know that honey, you have one BIG SPENDING PROBLEM! You have to be really desperate and up to your neck in bills to even THINK you'll get rich! The parties are BORING. Oh wow, playing parlor games! It's like school dress up parties and the clicks you used to have at school. Oh, what fun! HO-Hum. Girls, be careful your pyramid doesn't come crashing down!

Lia Sophia jewelry is poor quality, worth it for $10, something you have wear a couple times, but my 3 over priced pieces either broke or discolored in less than 1 year. I feel badly that this was jewelry I bought for an alleged fundraiser for a local non profit (20% of proceeds went to the non profit)-- we all would have been better off giving the $150 I spent direct to the non profit. I won't fall for this again. Most importantly jewelry is crap, and who is going to return something given them policy?

I have to add this because it seems I'm the only one with positive thoughts. I bought Lisa Sophia when it was Lady Remington. I've had numerous parties for friends who were reps. I still have all my jewelry. I don't sleep or shower with it or spray perfume on it but that's how I take care of my real jewelry, too. The 2 pieces I didn't like I returned with no problem. I've actually purchased over 50 pieces. Never had a problem. Except when my necklace got caught in my car door. And guess what? I got it replaced by Lia sophia cuz I still had my recepit. If your jewelry turns black on your skin your body oils don't agree with the metal. And if people buy when they don't have the money well I actually think that's their fault and not the sales rep, right? I mean if you don't have the money you simply say no. None of my reps who came into my home ever had a gun to force anyone to buy. And for those advisors who bought their own jewelry outside of their kit or earning their own freebies well I guess they didn't run an efficient business. I know I spend more money on shoes than I should. But [censored] if I blame the shoe companies for having such great sales and marketing :-) Now if you're interested in an opportunity to market over 350 products we use every day, that have to be replenished with no sales quota or party requirements come visit www.makegreengogreen.com/bethzavadis. But remember that each opportunity is different for everyone and your success or lack thereof depends on you. As long as you work with a legimate company.

First of all sales is sales. Do you notice any Ford car salesmen driving Mitsubishis into work? If you take on a direct sales opportunity, no matter what industry or product you should know enough about that product you represent if you want to do well. You don't like the "parlor games" then don't go. These home parties are about giving friends time together to hang out and buy jewelry. "Bling" is jewelry. That's exactly what jewelry is about. You either like jewelry or you don't. Replenishable? It's jewelry. Costume jewelry. I work with women who love the stuff. And some that don't wear jewelry. Any direct sales opportunity is exactly that. DIRECT SALES. You can keep it simple and do a few parties a week to pay your small bills or have fun money or you can recruit others and build your own business. A pyramid scheme isn't quite correct my dear. People who hate the company, can't succeed at selling, don't like selling or think direct sales isn't for them will call anything a pyramid. A pyramid is when someone pulls you into a business and no matter how hard you work you can never get ahead of that person. Lia Sophia have women great opportunities to create their own financial independence. As for the trips yes your efforts and direct sales determined if you win a trip for one or two. That's called setting a goal. I work in corporate america and although I make great money and take care of my client relationships my boss never gives me a trip anywhere. Even if I deserve it. Sales comes with hard work, dedication, fun, cheery people and cliques if you may, but the rewards are abundant for those with the sales gene. There's always a niche Somewhere for any product. I think the company gave women opportunities to be successful and what each rep did with that was up to them. Some make it some don't. Its like car sales. Not everyone will always need a car. And not everyone who tries to sell cars is good at it. That doesn't make car companies frauds. You sound like an angry advisor that this business didn't work out for or you didn't win your 2nd trip because you didn't make your goal. Everyone has their own opinion and that's fine but I knew some single mom's who had it not been for what they made of their lia sophia opportunity they would've not been able to provide a home for their children. And they became amazing business women who now can achieve great success no matter where they go. Direct sales world's miracles for some and they make the most of the opportunity. And some just aren't cut out for it.

Lia is another scam like all the others that exploit the stay at home moms and non-working housewives. It's just an excuse to get together, drink, and socialize. Oh by the way, buy some plastic crap after you are nice and buzzed (toasty from the wine). Total BS... not to mention the sales tax that is outrageous and the shipping and handling the is ridiculous. When I say ridiculous, I mean ridiculous! As a seller or host of a party they will ship all your sales in a bulk order to your house. Then, you as a hostess or reseller are responsible for distributing said goods to all of the final purchasers. What a waste of time and exploitation of lonely women's desire to socialize. This is not really a business but rather an exploitation of women with no business sense. Remember ladies... Time is Money. If you really want an item... buy it or ask your sugar daddy to buy it. Forget the stupid incentives from Lia and the likes. You are just annoying the you know what out of your husband or significant other.

My advice: find a nice piece of jewelry from Jared or whomever and ask for it. Then, spend the rest of your time and resources making your husband and family happy! Also, if you want to host a party... host a party without the stupid BS of Lia or the likes. Just have a party and talk about the nice stuff you want. Then spell it out for you hubby so he can stop by said store on his way to the Sports Bar.

Thanks to Lia and the other costume jewelers for ruining the single income household comeback.

I love the jewelry! They tell you exactly what the jewelry is made of and keep absolutely nothing from you! You have a lifetime warranty because they want to keep their happy customers, happy! There is nothing wrong with that, if anything it makes me want to continue buying from them because I know they will always take care of me! I know many ladies who have lavish lifestyles from selling only lia Sophia jewelry because they take care of their employees! So it is no scheme to some, especially those who make a living from this! Lia Sophia must be doing something right!
It's sad to me that some people want to bash something that they obviously no nothing about! They don't force you to buy anything so don't get online and hate on it, just simply don't buy it... Easy as that.

I recently went to a Lia Sophia party. The salesperson played games to entice you to buy their products. My friends and I bought several pieces that once delivered to us fell apart. Gold Necklaces tarnished, earrings fell apart. But what do you expect from jewelry made in China? They put an expensive price tag on something made oversees. Better to save up for something you really like and not this jewelry. Customer Service reps not helpful always sent you back to the "advisor" Advisor helpful but told me I had to pay my own shipment to send a broken piece back! They charge a shipping fee and send the jewelry all in 1 box to the person hosting the party. They overpriced pieces to make you have a party to get it at a lower cost. When it's not even worth the price they are charging. Mostly over $100.00. Company is very cheap! They pride themselved on a "lifetime guarantee." BUT you need to hold onto the receipt & you have to pay a charging fee of $5 PER ITEM if you decide to return it after 120 days! Plus, shipping. NOT worth it! Don't see this company lasting very long in this economy. Eventually, people will realize their motives. Not to make people look good but to scam them out of their hard earned money!

Lia sophia jewelry is junk. The worst overpriced purchase I made. The jewelry turns black within a week and for everyone selling it, don't you dare deny this. That's why you have to have the lifetime guarantee, which is stupid because you have to pay to ship the fake, crappy jewelry back. Forever 21 gives me better quality. Ladies, don't waste your money, your literally buying hidden copper.

People, LS is a brainwashing scam. They tell all the little housewives EXACTLY what they want to hear. That they are gonna be "empowered" and helping other women, and all the buzzwords the weak minded fall for. You are basically little paid slaves of the company. Most of you know NOTHING about finances, business or how to run one. You look at your gross commissions and forget to subtract what you paid into it. When all is said and done, considering the time, gas, tolls, and costs, you end up making the equivalent of about $1 an hour. Do the math. My wife has done this for about a year now. She has busted her butt, put in countless hours, both at shows and at home. Driven all over the tri-state area, incurring tons of expenses, even wasted money flying to Milwaukee to prance around with the other brainwashed idiots, and to show for it, she's netted a couple a thousand dollars. FOR A YEAR! On top of that, she's help wreck our marriage in that we now spend virtually NO time together, and fight over this. Do yourself a favor, buy a brain instead, THINK for the first time in your lives, and don't buy into this BS. You wanna "empower" yourselves, put the effort into YOUR OWN business, and stop listening to salespeople

In reference to the person who said that some are degrading a good company, I disagree with you about the good company part. A good company does not deceive like Lia Sophia does. They have convinced the women who sell their jewelry for them that their products are high quality. Their jewelry is electroplated gold. Gold electroplate jewelry can also be found in dollar stores. It's the jewelry you see up at the dollar store counter for three dollars instead of one dollar. I have heard women who sell the jewelry explain Lia Sophia's process to me. These poor women think that it's a special electroplating process that raises Lia Sophia jewelry above the rest. It isn't. These women are being fed a line of bull. I am a jeweler, so I don't deal with junk jewelry, and therefore have no motives to post this other than to make the public aware that they are being duped. People in the jewelry field shake their heads in disbelief at the garbage that Lia Sophia feeds their reps. It is outright lies. When people come into my store and want to know how much a Lia Sophia piece is worth, I hate to tell them that it is worth less than a dollar. They always say things like "But I paid $200 for it! That can't be true!" It's sad all around-for the customers as well as the Lia Sophia representatives. I'm sorry, but a good company has integrity. Lia Sophia does not.

Lia Sophia Fraud and scam

I received a ring for my birthday. I of course did not have receive. I found out who sold it and tried for weeks to get her to confirm purchase. She never answered my requests and then told Lia Sophia she could not fine. I have a ring with coating coming off - look awful.

PLEASE - do not buy their product - they don't hold up! and they charge way too much from what I can tell for a terrible product. Their customer service [protected],

I am a former lia sophia representative (for about 4 years) and made several customer returns. They ALWAYS stood behind their guarantee. However, when I discovered they now have an "Outlet", I have placed about 5 orders with them - keeping in mind that THERE IS NOW NO GUARANTEE! With the Outlet's low, low prices, I am completely satisfied. In fact, almost all of my jewelry is lia sophia, and it has held up very well over the years, with the exception of a few pieces. Please don't hesitate to order from their Outlet, but remember: THE PIECES ARE NOT GUARANTEED!

I sense many of the same feelings as Shawn above...the same story is told by these complainers, and some just complain but they do not describe their experience of their resolve, which I have heard nothing but great reviews on the few occasions a return was required. I for one, am a frequent LS purchaser, as are many of my friends. I have never had an issue with any of their jewellery, the jewellery as described and pictured in the catalogue has always been what I expected to receive. Most complaints mentioned, rings. I have never seen LS falsely advertise rings being with 10 or 14 caret gold, genuine saffires, diamonds etc...get my point. It clearly states that their products are nickel safe, electroplated, cut crystals, glass pearls, zirconia stones and when they are genuine, they mention that too.
Were you mislead thinking otherwise? Sounds like, if the statements are even true, that in the common problem areas you mention, you perhaps you had a bad LS representative selling to you...this can happen at any department store or direct sales company. Been to many parties, and my experiences have been good...when a question is asked about the product quality, the rep has always been honest in stating it is in fact with many pieces "costume jewellery"...In my opinion, premium CJ with a guarantee that I am satisfied with, that's what keeps me to continue to purchase, not to mention quality and looks...can't get that at other department stores selling CJ, and may I add, at no cost to the consumer. I see that as a company that stands behind the credit and quality of their product. I don't believe that a company that can back their products with such an unmatched guarantee, would make junk jewellery...do you? Would'nt think it would be worth their while after being in business for 30 plus years!
My advise for anyone looking for premium CJ, Lia Sophia is the place to shop...as a hostess of many parties, well worth the efforts of hosting. The company takes good care of their hostess and leaders so I've been told by many of them that come through my door. They would'nt be doing it if they worked for a %*^# company. Consumers...try it for yourself, I know and trust you won't be disappointed. A piece of advise for LS advisors/reps...be sure to honest with your customers of the LS line and perhaps provide them all with this recommendation...it is CJ so wear as such...i.e a ring will have potential to discolour over time if worn 24/7 and don't expose your jewellery to extreme heat conditions and/or chemicals, hot tubs, cleaning detergents etc. You will find you will gain more respect from your prior and future customers.

I am reading these posts and amused at what woman are saying...
Most of you write that lia sophia is a "scam" yet what you are describing is disappointment in your purchase which is far different than it being a scam. Lia sophia is in fact a member if the DSA. If you are unable to get ahold of your advisor that is also a different story than poor customer service. You simply haven't been able to receive your Lifetine Replacement.
