will not refund money
Complaint Rating: 96 % with 28 votes
Company information:
Internet profit gene
United States

I called them when I received a charge on my account for $81.32. I did not know I was going to be charged this amount. They said to bad so sad and there was nothing they would do for me. This is a scam and I don't recommend anybody to participate with the google system where they have to give their credit card to receive a cd. You will get charged. I want my money back and they won't refund it. I will be taking this up with my bank also.

Same thing. They do not make it clear up front about the charges. Nor do they explain up front that you will need to have a website already in place to use their services. If you do not have a website, you only have 7 days to build one and use your "free" trial before your account will be converted to an active member status. You will then be charged the $81.32. They have their systems set up that they can take your money, but can't refund it.

Receipt had no instructions on it...I had no idea what I was supposed to do. Never got confirmation email from company telling me what I needed to do. When I was surprised with the charge, I called and the best they offered (after a threat of calling the BBB and having my credit card fight it) was a $40 courtesy credit.

When i called 866-699-8440, they told me that this is a nonrefundable charge and i agreed to it when i signed up for it. I never signed up for monthly deduction . I didn't even know what to work on. I never got any instructions in email or by mail. They are just steeling people money with all these tricks. I am going to dispute this charge with my bank.

Yep. They just charged me 81 something for that piece of crap which I didn't even received. Well, anyways maybe this is a lesson that i should learn not to sign up or have any to deal with them *work at home* making *255 an hour* scam. S*&% I'm so pissed

This is bullsh** I cannot believe this company. All I did was sign up for a cd for 1.95 and did not even sign up for a 7 day trial. If i would have known that it was a trial period and i would have been charged i would have not even done it. I know myself and i would have forgotten and been charged. My bank says that they will dispute it and that i should have my money back in the morning but shit now my bank is overdrawn and they are pulling money out of my savings and overdraft fees. I am so f********* pissed off.
This company should be proscuted for scamming people. Carma is a Bi*** and they will get theirs.

The same thing happened to me. They charged my account for $81.32 and are now adding another charge for $9.34. I called them and got told the same thing. No refund. I told the guy that if I see any further charges, I will call my credit card company and report them as fraud. Right after I got off the phone I "Googled" them and found this web site. After reading the comments, I called my credit card company and was told I could dispute the charges. I'm planning to do that. I am unemployed and looking into work at home opportunities since jobs are scare in my area, but these people are PARASITES feeding off the misfortune of others. Whoever said they should be prosecuted for scamming people hit the nail right on the head!

Good luck to me and everybody else who commented. I hope we all get our money back eventually.

Ditto here. Just found some unexpected charges from three different sources on my credit card. What ticks me off is that it starts with an innocent ad link about some "poor" schmuck who learned how to earn a moderate income by promoting advertising on the Internet legitimately, mentioning the highly reputable name Google in the process (by the way, does Google know how their good name is used?), yet none of these other merchants that would ultimately charge you, like IPG, were mentioned (anywhere??)... i.e. not giving you an opportunity to check them out first, which would have lead to the obvious complaint reports. Their customer support will tell you nicely how it was all written in the terms and conditions you agreed to... but was it really? do they have different versions of their website for us suckers and for the lawyers? Besides, if you do not advertise the cost of the product up front, like the obvious $1.95 price tag, what is your motive? It's disgusting how there still exists such human scum while we're trying to make it through a tough economy.

When I saw the charge on my online statement, I didn't even know who they were. I called the number that my account reflected and first of all asked them who they were.

I had read the other google information about the CD in the email and noticed the 3 different trial periods and 3 different fees. I called and cancelled the service. They gave me 3 confirmation numbers. When I shared these numbers they told me these numbers were not from them. I told them I only signed up with them for the CD and everything else. The female disagreed. She told me I could not get a refund. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She said the supervisors only listen to calls they do not talk to people. I told her she was going to have to get a supervisor on the phone because I was not satisfied. While I was speaking to her I checked my previous emails and noticed that when I got the email about the instant web access that is all it said. It did not say it was for a 7 day trial period nor that another fee ... $81.32 was in the future.

I told her that I had never even been to the site to login. Didn't matter, not their fault. Still I couldn't get a supervisor. My next step -- complain to my bank ask for a charge back and let them handle it!

There's a special place in hell for these kind of people. They are too bad to be mixed in with the other folk!

I just happened to order my kit this after noon - 3:48pm to be exact. The representative didn't really sound knowledgeable about anything i asked him. Luckily for me, he mentioned that i could cancel the SUBSCRIPTION within 7 days. I wasn't aware I was subscribing to anything. Anyway, when asked how the charge would appear on my statement, HE DIDN'T KNOW. How do u not know that kind of info.

How much is the subscribtion??
81.32

Why so much?
Once again, he doesn't know.

So i asked him to cancel my subscription immediately!!! Still waiting for an email confirming my cancellation.

Luckily for me, i called my credit card company right away and had them cancel my account, open a new one and also put a block on it until further notice.

I will suggest the same everyone else.

We've been HAD.

timm K, thanks for your lead on reporting to the FBI's Internet fraud department. I followed your suit and included a link to this complaints site, whose list is growing, as well as a link to someone's page I found who was smart enough to capture the original web ads that seduced us into this in the first place:

http://www.prosperly.com/2009/make-money-posting-links-on-google-is-a-scam

I also sent a news tip along with the links to the LA Times, NY Times and CNN.

As our numbers grow, we may well empower ourselves to help bring down this unethical business practice and save others from similar aggravation. Let's show that we will no longer tolerate such parasitic behavior in today's America.

PS: Did anyone notice their foreign transaction fees related to the mentioned charges? That really sent me through the roof.

As with everyone else, I too was taken in by this scam. I don't know what can be done but hopefully more people will complain. $81.32 is alot of money these days to get nothing for it.

I called the company back. They did cancel my "subscription" but will not refund my money. I talked to Mike Jones. He is supposed to be the customer service manager. I told him I could not even get into the website. When I couldn't get in I just figured "$1.99 no big loss." So I forgot it. Little did I know that even though you couldn't get in they would charge you $81.32 every month until you caught it. That is how they are making money. Not from providing a service. Please for your sake don't fall for this scam. By the way Mike told me I would be able to get into the site tomorrow. Not today. And if I couldn't get in tomorrow to call back and ask for him. What do you think the chances of him being there tomorrow, or even anyone ever hearing of a Mike Jones?

I am so shocked and amazed at the extent of this scam I mean. I saw this advert on the chicago tribune and stated that the woman was from my city little. My suspicion was aroused when i realized that they used the same picture in another advert this time they said the woman was from California. Lo and behold I noticed my account account had been charged twice with the 81.32 and another for $67 I was so shocked! I saw this advert in the Chicago tribune online and I thought it was authentic. It said Local woman in my city makes $5000 an hour. I think what they do it that their website has been cleverly designed to pick the name of the local area where you live and make it look authentic. How they are allowed to associate themselves with CNN and other major reputable organizations is a wonder. What is this country coming to? This is a big Scam!!

On 06/08/09 my card was charged $1.95 and $1.06 by Internet Profit Gene. My computer screen flickered like it was rejected and I did not think anymore about it until this morning. My account was short and then I found that $84.72 is pending against my account. I called the 866-699-8440 and the gentleman on the other end did not know what I was talking about. I tried calling my bank to cancel my card immediately and they have no way of assisting; Monday through Friday only. We are all going to have to quit finding ways like this on the internet to make money; too many scams out there. We cannot always find out they are scams until it is too late...they get our hard earned money. These people have no scruples because they are out for themselves and not to help anyone else.

The said advert was in the Boston Tribune not the Chicago tribune
