I received in the mail Friday 6/17/11; a letter from Citicorp with my name, address, apartment number, city and state. Citicorp claimed I authorized a transaction for payment of $100.00 which will be presented for payment on transaction date, Tuesday 6/21/2011. Transaction Number [protected]. Transaction Amount $100.00. the letter states, "Please make sure you have sufficient funds in your ACCOUNT on that date to cover the payment." This letter is by
G. Stevens, Vice president of Citicorp. Citi wants me to send a Correspondenc to: Card Service Center, PO Box 6276, Sioux Falls, SD 57117. The letter states if I have any questions about this transaction, please call the toll free number below. I Call this company and talked with a Travis at [protected]. He wanted my social security number and account number. I had no account number. Travis persisted to ask for my social security number. I told him, I didn't know who he was, that's important information, and I was not giving it out. I HAVE NO ACCOUNT WITH THIS COMPANY, NOR HAVE I MADE A TRANSACTION!

The phone number on the back of HD credit card, managed by Citi, half the time answers with ten automated promotions, or more! Then there is an automated answer re directing you to a real number. Once, someone even told me I had to pay $10 to make a phone payment! what nerve! I have paid HD for 20 years for this! at the "Cancel Credit Card" office, no one even tried to keep my business!

I got one of these letters too, but I NEVER had a city bank credit card. they said I owed 1800 dollars for a long time and I should call a phone number right away, I smelled "SCAM" RIGHT AWAY! I ignored it, a week or so later I got a registered letter. ( I think it was registered" it looked official, I didn't want to call their number, so I tried to find who these people are, that's how I wound up here. something awful fishy going on here. oh yeah, I got a phone call, I asked "what purchase I bought to get this bill. after awhile she said it was a ballence transfer from an American express card, well I never had an American express card either, so I hung up.

Horrible customer service, I spent a ridiculous amount of time and numerous 1-800 numbers to get a copy of my payment information. This is absurd the way they do business, I want to pay off my balance and never do business with Citibank again. Thanks G. Stevens

After 6 years of being a loyal credit card customer, I mailed my monthly check seven days in advance and they claim they did not receive it. I called twice as a concerned customer. Phone service did not recognize my phone number, or my credit card. After a long wait I explained and documented with a case number my attemps to have this payment posted on time. It is very common for this Bank to claim payments arrive late to quickly assess a late fee and jack up the interest rate to 28.990%. Vice President G.Stevens (I guess they do not want to reveal the first name) quickly sent a threatening letter for late payment. I had already made a second payment over the phone, and coincidentally the supposed late payment was posted on my account at the same time resulting in double the payment I was supposed to make. Totaly premeditated and abusive tactics. The letter from G. does not show a reply mailing address. Only address is on the payment stab, good luck trying to find a Ciibank Vice President in Sious Fall, SD!. I showed concerned and got in touch with the Bank three times trying to continue my clean payment record. I hope to receive confirmation from the bank that my interest rate will not be increased.

In Sept. of 2013, I used a citi-bank check, interest free for one year; I paid a Bank of America Account $974.38 I made my first payment of $200. and was startled to have your company REFUND the amount of a check;

I have faxed, called, written with no response except...YOU HAVE NOT MADE A PAYMENT AND YOUR ACCOUNT HAS NOT BEEN PAID!

I HAVE MADE (4) $200. PAYMENTS... I have received those payments back in the form of 4 $200. checks from CitiBank!

I have faxed copie of these 4 checks, and have sent a copy of electronic payments that my bank Terre Haute Savings Bank have verified!

I want ALL fees removed and I will pay my original amount of $974.38. I have offered to do this and then I am "cut off" and the phone goes dead...

I went to an attorney...you have issued me, Sally Jane Arnold TWO different accounts...HOW COULD YOUR COMPANY NOT FIGURE THIS OUT!

I would love for this message, note, problem, be given to Stevens, Vice President...he needs to know that problems in his company go on for several months and are not solved...he needs to know that :Customer Service of Citi Bank offers POOR service!

How can an attorney find out info that you could not find out in your own company; I have done my part, now it is time for Citi Bank to do theres. Sally Jane Arnold

Their customer service personnel are the rudest, most obnoxious people that I have ever come in contact with (even as a law enforcement officer)! Because I am out on medical leave, my account has admittedly gotten a few months behind...you can't cough up money! I have REPEATEDLY advised their personnel (after receiving NUMEROUS calls per day) that I am not supposed to be talking due to a medical issue, and I have also advised their personnel (after receiving NUMEROUS calls per day) NOT to continue to harass me by calling several times per day and all correspondence should be made in writing, either via mail or e-mail, to abide by my physician's orders. Because they CONTINUE to harass me by telephone, despite my NUMEROUS conversations, I have had to block their number on my cellular service. They now are contacting my home, of which I have received THREE calls just this morning! Unfortunately, you can't block an 800 number from a home phone. So, I now have had to resort to taking my landline off the hook to avoid their stupidty and harassing calls! I had begun recording the calls from their personnel, advised them of such (which I did not legally have to do), and their ignorant personnel advised me they were not consenting to the calls being recorded. Well, since I just happen to know the laws, I advised their ignorant personnel that only ONE party to the call had to consent to the call being recorded...that party is ME! I am consulting with my attorney as to the steps that need to be taken to stop the harassment! If they continue to call and if I continue to speak with them, I will own them if I end up having to be readmitted into the hospital for not following physician orders due to ignorant, rude, employees of Citibank continuing to harass! I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau!

I cancelled my Citicorp card today after receiving a "collection" call stating $209.00 due. We had paid 2 payments in April, and $160.00 in May. The payment due for May was $180.00, but as we had paid a month in advance, we felt there would be no issue. The automated call told me that my account was past due, and the $209.00 was due immediately. This is the $20.00 from May, and the June payment- which wouldn't be due until the 24th. I spoke with a customer service representative who told me that regardless of what amount was paid in one month, the minimum amount due in each billing cycle has to be paid "within that billing cycle". Beware- you CANNOT pay your bill early. I asked to speak to a manager and was forwarded to an "Escalation Specialist". I asked her to speak to a manager, she flat out refused stating their managers do not take phone calls. I then asked how to cancel my card, and was forwarded to management services. She let me vent, told me the same thing the collections agent did, and allowed me to cancel my card. What company would not appreciate customers paying their bills early?

Hope you get this. I am currently (8/2018) researching a different problem with Citicorp. But, I am astonished to hear you say you can't pay ahead. Quite a long time ago I had a somewhat similar situation. I fought very hard, and I did overcome it. But it was a challenging fight. Wish I could share details with you. Reply if you get to see this, and you want details.

I received a phone call this morning from the single rudest person I have ever encountered on the phone. This economy has been financially trying for my family and I and we've done our best to keep afloat. We are several days late on our payment to Citibank and have every intention to pay with my very next check but I was treated like a veritable crook today. This lady began asking me personal questions and talking down to me in the most condescending way. I have never NEVER not made a payment. But you'd think after years of being a loyal customer I'd at least have earned the right not to be insulted and humiliated at 8 am by some callous, cold-hearted, corporate henchwoman. I understand she's trying to collect on a debt, I get that. But good Lord, give a guy a chance before you start beating on his door with torches and pitchforks!
I will be paying the card off and cancelling it and if I can find an address I'll mail the cut up card pieces back to Citibank postage due.

I tried to make a payment on line a week prior to receiving you letter unfortunately I was unable access my account and referred to numbers I should call to make arrangements. Sadly my past experiences calling your company have been uninviting and frustrating.

Last time I called just to find out if my account could be reopened, I spoke to three representatives EACH asking 5 questions to ensure your security and finally I got my answer. I asked her, “Do you now realize why I closed the account to being with? A question that should have taken no more than 5 minutes has taken 25 minutes and three reps. this is sad”

Upon the time I closed my account to find out my available credit, using the automated system. A customer rep came on and verified whom I was then put me on hold stating there is a problem we need to update your information! Following more questions later she asked for my cell phone number to which I don’t give out. She seemed uptight and I was frustrated and still didn’t know my available credit. She proceeded to call the land line expressing herself to my husband whom needed complete concentration working on his project. He called me concerned and I closed my account. Ridiculous! The response when I share my experience is that Citi is the worst.
Thank you for your consideration, Laura
