CineFear Video review: Very poor quality bootleg dvd movies 1

Saw several rare DVD titles on merchant's website. Emailed to inquire about quality. Received email reply from Keith J. Crocker stating excellent quality. Received order to find they are DVD-R discs of material sourced from multi-generation VHS tapes with tracking error distortion and on screen VCR messages. The films are a combination of: 1) cannot be watched because so bad and, 2) difficult to watch because of weak contrast and/or blue-tinted images (on what should be a color film).

I returned discs and included his email where he describes the films as great quality, and also included a note disputing his quality descriptions. Was very polite, did not go ballistic, simply described problem and asked for a refund.

Received reply stating, "no refund" and the quality is stellar (!). I'm very busy and do not have time to lodge complaints on websites like this, but felt it was necessary to warn others of CineFear Video and Keith J. Crocker's deceptive practices -- not to mention illegal bootleg video material. I'm sorry it had to come to this. A simple refund was all that was required.

Said "Client" is a serial offender pulling an age old scam. DVDR materials are easily duped without generational loss. Client inquires about titles. Purchase is made, order is sent. Client dupes materials, packages them back up and returns to merchant for full refund. Last time someone played this game with us was over ten years ago. But people like that still exist. The pictures the client submitted above are from "Texas Pop Festival" and "Wake A Generation". No good quality version of these films exist, and that is duly marked on our website. He never asked about these, he just ordered them. Client ordered eight products, got a ninth for free. He asked about four titles. The pictures from those titles are posted below. The quality speaks for itself. Cinefear Video has been in business for 26 years without a complaint. Would we still be in business if we operated as this "Client" has suggested!? We are a mail order on demand of patron service which provides copies of rare and out of print films and music. We have been written up in countless publications.
The "Client" did NOT follow protocol for handling a return. Our policy is clearly written on our website. He never contacted me. He instead returned the discs with a note. Note is below for all to see. Client cut and pasted his note into an Email format to make it LOOK like he emailed me. I immediately sent the package right back to him explaining that he did not follow protocol. He still has the originals to this day. So much for his lack of satisfaction. Also, note how "Client" threatens me at the end of the note (which is clearly a form letter he uses on different dealers). He speaks of "Paypal", but this was a credit card transaction. But he pulls this so often he forgot how he paid. On top of it he doesn't even use his own credit card, but rather uses cards belonging to members of his family. After all, too many charge backs start to look suspicious. The credit card company has been alerted to this scam. They know people like this exist, it's just hard to do anything about them. However, the credit card company is still reviewing the case, we are fighting the charge-back.
At Cinefear we list all quality issues. We even give customers screen grabs. We have continuous year long sales and we even have private monthly sales for long term loyal customers. This "Client" is a habitual liar and a scam artist. I have already warned several dealer friends about this man. It's bad enough he pulled this scam, now he has to add insult to injury by posting this nasty review. The problem is he was way too transparent, his letter proves that. The remaining screen grabs I posted prove it as well. Here's what REAL Cinefear customers have actually said:

"I ordered an obscure Live CD from the site. I received an instant response
from Keith and the CDs arrived (New York to North East England) within a
week. Really nice to find someone on the Net who is honest, reliable and
efficient!"
All the best
Andy

OUTSTANDING!
Keith
That is truly all I can say :-)
I saw This Lady's Not for Burning right after Christmas - it is as good as I remember it. And I just finished The Borgia Stick a few minutes ago. I remember this movie vividly from the 1960s. Thank you so much for making these movies available. Have a wonderful new year.

We can give you more of these as needed. I'm not going to go on about this, it's clear to all who read.
