I bought a car battery from Chloride Exide Kenya and after 3 months of failing to work properly decided to take it back since it was still under warranty.
The company decided to perform their tests on the battery which basically involves taking apart the battery and viewing the electrode plates. Their verdict was that the battery had "low level" and as such my claim for replacement was rejected.
I feel rather conned since these are the same guys who topped up the battery with electrolyte yet now they claim i cannot get a replacement. This was after spending ksh 6000 on the battery. The only thing they have offered is to provide a discount on the next battery i buy from them.
How can this happen especially since they were quick to mention it was under warranty when buying the battery and it was well topped up at that time.
Kindly highlight this story and let people be informed to ditch this brand of battery.

Kweli, i have another car which came with a Panasonic battery from japan.
The same has lasted me almost 4 years and still going strong and not even a glimpse of battery corrosion in sight. These Exide guys could be recycling their batteries because their quality is just but questionable.
A SUPPOSEDLY "REPUTABLE" COMPANY LIKE CHLORIDE EXIDE SHOULD NOT ENGAGE IN SUCH PETTY & TRIVIAL ISSUES. JUST GIVE THE GUY A REPLACEMENT BATTERY & MOVE ON. THIS WILL SURELY COST THE COMPANY MORE BUSINESS FOR SURE THAN THE KSHS.6, 000 THEY'RE TRYING TO SAVE. PERIOD. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A CHLORIDE EXIDE BATTERY AGAIN! I HAVE ALSO WITNESSED THEIR BATTERIES LATELY TEND TO BE FAULTY WITHIN THE A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME [E.G. 4 MONTHS]. WHY? SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE & THEY SEEM TO HAVE BECOME COMPLACENT & FEELING SMUG… ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE REALITY CATCHES UP WITH THEM. BURE KABISA!
I have just learned that Chloride Exide Kenya made a sale for more than US$2000 using my stolen credit card number. Either they themselves have crooked staff or they don't do their due diligence when accepting a credit card payment. In either case, I intend to spread the word.
