I was excited to try this auction site. However, after spending $75 (it cost 75 cents for each bid!) and a whole day (from 10 a.m. to 6pm), I didn't even win one bid! Please DO NOT waste your time and money. This is an auction site for people who have the extra dough to throw away. If by chance you do win a bid, you most likely would have spent so much money buying the rights to bid at 75 cents per bid, you would be better off just buying the product yourself!

Bidcactus is a scam, there are only a few auctions running, and most everyone is bidding at the same time, chances are you are NOT going to win, meanwhile you are out the amount of money for bidding! Totally agree, BIDCACTUS is a SCAM

this is site is AWEFUL! the only one that wins is the company itself.. I joined and I won my first bidding war.. after that you get addicted to it, thinking you can win more, but you don't.. every bid cost .75 that's alot of money.. then just when you think the auction is over, it adds more time to the clock allowing more and more people to bid against you...
I didn't play anymore!

A few people dominate the board, they always seem to win the big 500 or 250 bid packs also, then bid, so you have no chance at all unless you pump tons of money into bid packs.

biddin4ever is a copy cat to bidding4ever. he leaves out the letter g . its apparent that he knows bidding4ever has never lost and registered with a similar name.
bidding4everr got his first win around march 12 2010 he is new to the game as i call it. i became a member in march also and i am a very careful observer of this site. there are no bots on bidcactus. i got my first win befor bidding4ever and in two months i have won thirty times. i am nethier of the players mentioned above and in my opinion only three of them are power players. as i mentioned before the name on the top of the list is a copy cat. in fact when he plays, the real guy attacks him . i dont consider myself a power player, but i am a strong player who focuses on one item at a time and wont give in easy. i stay away from power players. and i stack myself with lots of bids. if you dont plan on having at least 8 or 900 bids in your account when you start bidding, then do not bid on items that retail over $300.00 stick to the smaller ticket items. you too can win. but if you dont observe carefully as the person above who has not notice that biddin4ever is a copycat then it will be a bit more dificult to win.

HI, I'M BACK. BIDCACTUS IS TRULY THE BEST OF ALL AUCTION SITES. I AM ON MY SECOND MONTH AS A MEMBER AND HAVE WON 29 PRODUCTS THAT DO NOT INCLUDE BIDPACKS. ALL MY ITEMS HAVE ARRIVED BETWEEN 5 AND 10 DAYS AFTER WINNING THEM. THIS MONTH I HAVE WON 3 NIKON COOL PIX DIGITAL CAMERAS, DS LITE, 2 SONY BLU RAY PLAYERS, HP LAP TOP $300.00 WORTH OF DISNEY CARDS JUST TO NAME A FEW. I TRIED VARIOUS OTHER PENNY AUCTION SITES AND FOR SOME REASON DID NOT WIN A THING. I FIND THAT BIDCACTUS IS THE BEST AND I WILL STICK WITH IT. THEY GIVE FREE BIDS WHEN YOU POST YOUR WINNING ON VIDEO ON YOU TUBE. I DID JUST THAT. YOU CAN SEE ME SHOWING OFF MY WINS ON YOU TUBE UNDER BIDCACTUS DEALS. JUST TYPE MY USER NAME "GOSTRONG26" IM THE GUY WITH THE HAT SINGING A BIDCACTUS SONG I MADE JUST FOR THE VIDEO. IT WON ME 25 BIDS. IF YOU WANT TO WIN ON BID CACTUS YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR TIME. OBSERVE AND OBSERVE. STAY AWAY FROM POWER PLAYERS, TAKE NOTES USUALLY AFTER 30 WINS IN A MONTH YOU CANOT PLAY. PLAY WHEN POWER PLAYERS HAVE REACHED THEIR LIMIT. DONT GET INTO BIDDING WARS. YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT. IF THEIR IS A STRONG PLAYER, LET HIM GET HIS 3 WINS WHICH IS THE LIMIT PER DAY AND WAIT FOR YOUR CHANCE. IT TAKES A STRATEGY TO WIN. YOUR ODDS ARE BETTER WHEN YOU HAVE A STRATEGY. DONT BID ON MORE THAN ONE ITEM AT A TIME FOR IT SHOWS WEAKNESS AND POWER PLAYERS WILL REMEMBER YOU AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. I HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL TO YOU.

WELL--I HAVE TO SAY THE 1ST TIME I LOST BECAUSE I BID LIKE A FOOL! I REALLY REALLY CAN NOT SAY THIS SITE IS A SCAM. I WENT BACK AND THEY DO HAVE BEGINNER'S AUCTIONS WHERE ONLY NEW PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER WON CAN WIN FAIRLY EZ. 1 TIME OPPURTUNITY! I BOUGHT THE 25 BID PACK AND GOT A $50 BESTBUY GIFT CARD DELIVERED TO ME UPS 2ND DAY AIR. VERY EXCITED! I ALSO WENT FOR IT LAST NIGHT AND STAYED BACK AND WATCHED 4 A WHILE BEFORE BIDDING AND I WON A $100 TARGET GIFT CARD. THEY ARE PAYPAL VERIFIED WHICH BASICALLY MEANS THEY CAN NOT SELL YOU AN ITEM AND NEVER SEND IT TO YOU OR PAYPAL WOULD NOT ACCEPT THEIR PAYMENTS! ALSO-THE PERSON THAT SAYS THEY BOUGHT TVS AND COMPUTERS AND NEVER RECEIVED THEM HAS TO BE A FLAT OUT LIE. DUH-DUH-DUH! IF YOU PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD OR ANY TYPE OF PAYMENT THEY ACCEPT YOU CAN OBVIOUSLY FILE A CLAIM WITH YOUR COMPANY TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK. SORRY IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT! BUT-I HAVE HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A BUNCH OF SORE LOSERS TO ME! I ALSO GO TO A MUCH-MUCH SLOWER PACED AUCTION SITE THAT I LOVE! AND THEIR CHIPS ARE ONLY .60 EACH AND U CAN PURCHASE BIDPACKS AS LOW AS 10 AT A TIME FOR $6. CHECK IT OUT--$6 IS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT MOST OF YOU SAID YOU HAVE LOST. THEY DO TAKE UP TO 2 WEEKS TO SHIP BUT U WILL GET YOUR ITEM. WWW.LUCKYCHIC.COM/USERS/REGISTER/DAISYSMAMACITA. THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY FOR BEGINNERS. I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS ADVICE--ANY AUCTION SITE WILL HAVE LOSERS AND WINNERS AND IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD THE RISK-KEEP YOUR MONEY:)

It seems that you all have very bad experiences with this site. You can try a new site brugle.com, it has not been launched yet. It’s true that once you enter a room to join an online bidding process, every single roommate becomes your competitor. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be at each other’s throat, pushing and pulling (of course, not literally) for the prize, as it often is the case, in most of the penny auction sites. Shopping here will be fun.

I completely disagree, BidCactus is not a scam site. I do think there are plenty of penny auction scam sites out there, but BidCactus is not one of them. I do agree with "idonwanna", there is a lot of learning involved with a site like this, and yes there is a risk. But it is extremely important to watch the auctions before you even consider buying bids and using them. I watched BidCactus auctions for a week before even buying bids and then for another week after buying some.

I'll admit I have lost bids and at times gotten frustrated. HOWEVER, just because I lost and certain "bully bidders" or "power bidders" are scoring some of the big merchandise, that does not make the site a scam. Just because you're bitter that you lost money because you didn't know what you were doing, does not make BidCactus a scam. There are also no bots or autobids on BidCactus.

I learned from my mistakes, and have won plenty of items since then (saving a ton of money). One other point (or tip) is don't waste your time bidding on bidpacks. Those really are a waste of time, not because it's a scam, but because they are such popular items. Just buy your bids and focus on other items.

Here is a list of the items I have won on BidCactus (and I have received EVERYTHING). I had one problem with an item, I contacted BidCactus Customer Support (who are extremely helpful), they sent the item right away, plus refunded me my bids for that particular item because it was late. Anyway, the list of EVERYTHING I have won AND RECEIVED since I started bidding back in November 09. Talk about a good Christmas!

I agree with some of the coments maid above. but I also have to disagree. I became a member at bitcactus 8 days ago and bought the 25 bid pack for $18.75 and on my 14th bid I won a motorola droid unlocked smart phone valued at $714.99 my final price for shipping, 14 bids and final price of auction totaled $29.17. I was so excited that I bought the 250 bid pack for $187.50 and won several bid packs a 3m professional micro projector for a total of $47.66 (40 bids plus shipping) Ive been playing for 8 days now and have won 14 products that include a 32 inch sony vaio, a lenova note book 3 nintendo dsi a canon rebel xs eos and several more items. with that being said I had to purchase several more bid packs, but im still ahead in the game by about $1, 200.00 and if you go crazy bidding you can loose it all. I dont know, but maybe its time for me to quit while im ahead or maybe ill just take my chances until im on the loosing side. thats just me.

bidcactus is a scam. I wish I had read the reviews before I spent 75.00 on bid package and recieved nothing in return. I thought I was to savvy to get stung like this but obviously not. This was an expensive lesson and one I will not forget soon. I will be filing a complaint with the attorney generals office and with my credit card company. If everyone who has been taken by this scam would do the same perhaps we could get at least this cite shut down.

BIDCACTUS WILL ROB YOUR MONEY I WAS LEAD THERE BY PENNY AUCTION WATCH OR PENNYAUCTIONWATCH.COM ANY WEBSITE THAT IS BRAND NEW WILL ROB YOUR MONEY

ALL THESE PENNY AUCTION WEBSITES THAT CAME OUT IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS ARE SCAMS, PENNY AUCTION WATCH GIVES BIRTH TO THEM THEN PROMOTES THEM TO STEAL YOUR MONEY IF A PENNY AUCTION IS FEATURED THERE... ITS OWNED BY THEM AND ITS A SCAM...WHAT EVER THEY TELL YOU I WOULD THINK THE EXACT OPPOSITE CAUSE THEY PUT OUT ### REPORTS

THEY SAY THAT SWOOPO A PENNY AUCTION OPEN FOR YEARS IS A SCAM BUT SOME BRAND NEW PENNY AUCTION THATS BEEN OPEN 3 WEEKS IS THE SAFE AND A LEGIT ONE, AND THATS WERE YOU SHOULD SPEND YOUR MONEY?...SOUNDS LIKE ### TO MEE... THE ONLY SCAM IS PENNY AUCTION WATCH OR ANY WEBSITE GIVING RATINGS TO PENNY AUCTIONS I WOULD ONLY TRUST SITES THAT GIVE YOU A LIST AND NO OPINION.

Hello "taken by pennyauctionwatch"

I did not say that Bidcactus was safe, only that users on pennyauctionwatch.com have received items from them, which they have, like any penny auction website you must do your homework and know that when you go into buying bids you may not win an item.

Kind wishes to all of you and remember to spend your money wisely and take caution when bidding on any penny auction site.

Thanks

I am married to a great guy, which might be hard to believe after reading this, but he really is. A few weeks ago UPS delivered an envelope to my door, inside was a $50.00 Sears gift card. I called my husband to ask where it came from and he told me about a website called BIDCACTUS, and that he had won the card for very little money. That night he came home and we did a little bidding together, and I have to admit it was fun. Yesteday I got a notice from our bank that we were overdrawn which I knew couldn't be true. I looked up out account only to find out that my husband had spent almost $800.00 in a three and a half week period on the BIDCACTUS site. Yes, I said $800.00! He was afraid to tell me about it out of shame and embarrassment. Out of that money we recieved the Sears card, and the other items he had won have never shown up. Of coarse it is a scam. And although I am furious I know the kind of person my husband is and believe BIDCACTUS is very good at sucking people in. I immediately got on the internet to look the site up...only to find many, many similar stories. Haven't heard of anyone that lost as much as fast as he did, but I would like to make people aware of what can happen on these sites.

I recently tried the whole Bid Cactus thing and I totally agree it was a scam. They suckered me in for 37.50 and it vanished very quickly. I even tried their suggestion to bid at the off hours... and to my surprise the same people were bidding at 6PM and at 6AM.
I feel sorry for the people getting caught up with this scam and I hope the news papers and other consumer protection agencies get the word out about these scammers!

I whole heartedly agree this site is a complete scam! I did not go crazy with the amount I spent when I tried it ($20), however was floored when it kept looking like I won things but somehow the things it said I was the highest bidder on NEVER registered as me winning a damn thing! The ones where it was obvious that I didn't win were the same damn person EVERY time which seemed to bid immediately after I hit the button. You would think it was just bad luck but it was amazing how that same name could win EVERYTHING so religiously. I think it should be classified as false advertisement for them to be able to call themselves an auction as opposed to gambling! I have never heard of an auction where you pay the money you bid weather you win or loose...and you will loose. Even if they were labeling themselves as gambling they would still be a scam! You would not stand a chance! It's more like the carnival game where the ball is just enough bigger than the hole you are supposed to throw it into where it would never go in but just close enough that from where you are standing it looks legit.

As for the jerk who works for them trying to convince people that they are not a scam and are harmless... Karma always gives you what you deserve and you sir have some terrible karma headed your way for the lying and scamming that you do to people and of course you would justify it... it made you rich. You may think you are invincible because there are so many people who have access to the internet and it would be impossible for everyone to be informed of your shamefulness before they waste money that they could be using on actually getting an item. However, Karma isn't something you can hide from or buy your way out of so you are screwed!

Truly I am surprised no one has gone to the media about this to warn everyone what they are really about. People are so hard up for a break these days and basically this company takes advantage of that. People get on hoping to get something for some awesome deal (I was attempting to get Christmas for my family because it seemed like I could do something better for them this way). Again... Karma will get you!

I am the owner of a website that will be open soon, based on the idea bidrival and other similar websites, if we see the downside of this betting system are seeing the downside of all types of gambling games, we are talking about casinos of Las Vegas, Miccosukee, Seminole Casino Immokalee, all these game systems are based on the luck you have, to bet money that may be lost, all these games are governed by the same rules. If we calculate the price of the bids, what can see us? We see that we are sitting in a casino machine that 5 CTVS is equivalent to 1 dollar for each bid, so, where is the difference? if you disagree with these types of web site simplemtente not go.

PennyauctionWatch.com does not own any penny auction sites. The members who subscribe to the forum range from penny auction site owners, and penny auction site bidders. The sites mentioned as being in the owned by PennyAuctionWatch.com are members of the pennyauctionwatch forum community by choice. The main reason they choose to be a member is that bidders have a chance to review other bidder's experiences with various sites. It also centralizes a location where PA owners can get a "voice of the bidder" to gauge how their experiences are at the site. If you don't understand the concept of the penny auction, you will lose almost every time. I'm a casual bidder who hasn't spent hundreds of $$, but have come out about even on wins. Mostly I've won GiftCards, and at one site have won a PS3. Do I expect that I'll win every time I buy bids.. No.. There is not guarantee, and chances of winning depend on the size of the site, and the types of bidders at the site. Newer sites are easier to win at as their user base is fairly small. The trouble with newer site is that they haven't proved themselves and you don't know how good customer service will be. PennyAuctionWatch.com provides you a location to gain this knowledge based on other bidders experiences. Penny Auctions do seem like a scam, but people do win, and yes more people will lose than will win. Lastly, not all PA owners are raking it in. A site like Swoopo or BidCactus have hundreds of thousands of members and do make a lot of money. A newer site such as Live2Bid, or PennyJersey, have a much smaller user base, and may not be making a profit and/or may be losing money. Most newer sites lose money in their first 3-4 month until they can prove their legitimacy, prove that they deliver on customer service and products.

I believe bidcactus is a legit site. I found them using www.pennystats.com which lists all the popular penny auction sites and shows you all the auctions they have ending right now. The reviews on there as well as PAW seem to lead me to believe this is a good site.

Hello,

To all of you who have negative feelings with Bidcactus, I hate to be the one to rain on your parade, but you are very mistaken about Bidcactus.com! I have been registered with them since June of last year and I consider myself a person who takes much pride in integrity and in defense of Bidcactus, I have come away from bidding in their auctions through the course of several months winning wonderful merchandise at steal prices, for example: (1) Panasonic Viera 32" LCD/HDTV 1080p Retail:$849.99 /Final Price: $0.73; (3) That's right "three" Sony Bravia's 26" LCD/TV Retail: $499.99 ea/ Final Auction Price: $3.14 / $5.36 /$6.50; (1) Panasonic 32" LCD/HDTV Retail: $499.99/Final Price: $1.16; (1)Canon Pixma Printer Retail: $79.99/Final Price: $$0.32
(1)Several $100 American Express Gift Cards Retail: $100 ea/Final Price; "all" under $0.50 ;
(2) Nikon Cool Pix s220 Digital Cameras Retail: $149.99/Final Pirce: $$0.55 and $2.21; (1) Olympus Stylus Digital Camera; (2) Canon EOS Rebel SLR Digital Cameras; (2) Nintendo DS Lite; (1) Nintendo Wii Console; (2) JVC 32" 1080p LCD/HDTV's ; and too many more to mention!

I don't mean to show off, but only want those of you feeling negative about this Penny Auction site BIDCACTUS, to cut it some slack, for they are LEGIT! And, I do understand how you feel, I used to feel like you, but I hung in there and I observed from those who would bully me right out of the auction with their ways of bidding, but you got to "hang tuff" and hold your ground and not let anyone intimidate you, NO MATTER WHAT, even if you spend more than you wanted, the point you're making is that, you will not be run off any auction by any bidder and you can play hard ball with the best of them! Sit back awhile watch how the bidding is going, each bidder has their own technique of bidding and some use it to run you off or have you use up your bids, leaving you no time to re-up bids and so the auction most like will go to that person, not always, but I have lost many this way, so keep a close eye on the number of bids you have left and if you have time to re-up do it while there are other bidders bidding for the same auction, chances are you will return with more ammo /bullets and still in the hunt for the win. Never give up on yourself, LEAVE IT YES, but don't let anyone run you out! After awhile you will learn when to walk away from an auction. And, most important, Don't let you EGO's get the better of you which will find you in a bidding war driving the auction price higher while others sit on the sideline waiting till one of you gives up, or runs out of bids and then those on the side will come after the one remaining, knowing he/she has to run out of bids soon, or has spent over the item's value and will quit, but not always. Some think they have already spent a great deal and would be better to hang on and win the item and come out of it with something versus losing everything. Don't get into bidding wars, if you can walk away and take the loss, do so, for to hang in there sometimes will cost you dearly and this is because our EGO's get the best of us. Bidders after awhile become like DRUG ADDICTS, needing their daily dose of bidding, sometimes winning and sometimes losing, so it's wise to bid a little but know your limitations, don't want to end up spending kids milk & cereal money nor the phone bill, electric bill, cable bill, it can happen real easily, so don't get sucked in, to the point you become addicted, and it will happen trust me, you can take this one to the bank! LOL

Just take your time and obeserve auctions before you jump right into them, know who's bidding. After awhile when bidding against the same people it seems, you get to know how they bid, their techniques and also, when not to enter the auction with them, for some are Very Seasoned PROS and have the funds to back them. Penny Auctions for some bidders has become a way of life, their bread & butter, for they win these auctions to re sell the merchandise won cheap, to make a good enough profit. This can be seen when you see the same bidders going after all the "high-end" merchandise which would bring in a bigger profit for them. They are not like you, who is wanting to win that Laptop for school or for your son /daughter, it's their business and winning is everything to them. Bidcactus auctions are not for the fearful nor for those with a tight budget, you are better off going to Swoopo.com. I have won many wonderful things from Swoopo, like (3) Apple MacBook Pro's 13.3 Laptops, ; Nikon Cameras, HDTV"S 46" SamSung's; Apple iPhones 3 GS unlocked and many more. So don't think all Penny Auctions are scams and are using shills /bots. robots, whatever because some are legit, like Bidcactus and Swoopo!

The only thing I don't care for about Bidcactus is that they auction 500, 350 and 250 Free Bid Packs, and the bidders who are lucky to win these can really kill you in the auctions, but these Bid Pack auctions are a big money maker for them, so just be careful and bid wisely. There are plenty Free Bid Pack Auctions that come out regularly and bidders do not have to get greedy and win everything they can, give others a shot at winning a few auctions, these auctions were not meant to become a bidders lively hood and source of income, so get a job for those of you who use auctions for these reasons. You are making money from the rest of us when you drive the auction price higher because you can afford to, hoping to drive other bidders out so you can dominate the auction and win and re sell the item for a profit. Many of us, bid for fun and hope to get lucky enough to win that Laptop needing for school and not to re sell.

We are the one's who can take these auctions for very little, if we all bid smart, respect other bidders, help each other win their auctions by not stealing it from them, STOP driving the Auction Prices Higher, because you are impatient and must be the name on top, and let the clock count down to the last ten seconds before bidding, this will keep the cost down for everyone bidding, if you see that someone has spent a lot bidding for an auction, "cut them some slack" don't go jumping in looking to steal it away from them because you have a fresh load of bids and hoping to run that bidder out of bids leaving them no time to re-up, this is rude and selfish. What if it were you, you surely would not like someone doing that to you. We can control these auctions if we pull together, because without us they have nothing! So stop making them rich by fighting each other for auctions, give in now and then, share auctions, once everyone gets on the same page, more of you will come away smiling and with merchandise for very little cost. Just think about it... Good luck to all bidders and please stop the greed and support each other instead of the auctions sites...

Thank you...

I tape recorded the website on catusbid and it was not in sync, I spent over 180.00 and all of a sudden when a 50.00 gidt certificate that I wanted ususally does not go over 25.00 then when i bid its like 50, oo yes and we seen the repetetive names but was interesting was evertime I pushed buy, i thought I won but it said GONE and I jave proof that I taped it and the item was off by 10 -15 seconds . I feel cheated and I even wrote then and wanted to send them the tape of my two computers side by side being taped... for instance the target for 100, oo it says 09 seconds left and on another computer it says going going and then resets... well they did not even feel the need to comprimise and reinburse me for my points that I played several hours and days... cyazalina@ yahoo.com

I am VERY unhappy with bidcatus. I watched this site for weeks getting a good idea on how it worked and watching how much items basily auctioned off for. I was ready! I bought enough bids to feel like I could win a bid pack made sense right? Use your bids to get more bids to be armed with enough to really get what you want. So here I am bidding on a bid pack and their are a couple very persistant bidders who had either unlimited bids or were working for this site. The bid pack went for over $40 in bids come on here that is alot of bids when they are a penny a bid. I kept up for awhile, was obviously useless, I spent over $200 just trying to get a bid pack, this has got to be a scam. I watched this site and not once did I see any bid packs come remotely close to that. Evidently other people were smart enough to stop bidding before they spent so much. I've got to say wish I had seen this site and read the comments before wasting a good chunk of money and such a scam!
