Conduent Education Services / ACS Education cash advance from Cash Advance Usa

Name of caller was Andy Brown - complaint was that I had taken a cash advance of 700 dollars from cash advance usa and had not paid it back.

I have never taken a cash advance from anyone and when i tried to pin him down for any particulars he could not offer any so I suggested he go ahead and serve the papaers and in the meantime I would be contacting the FBI fraud division as I live in a different state. He kept claiming that i could not call any law athourity and that they have no jurisdiction. I then asked for a docket number and file numbeer which he could not supply so I explained my choice to go to the local law and also the fbi with the infromation I had and he hung up.

These are scammers operating out of India. They don't care about US laws or FDCPA rules. All they want is some poor sap to feel threatened and send them money. You can look up Cash Advance America and they use a bunch of other different names. Same method of perpetuating a scam, same names and same phone numbers. You can also contact your state attorney general to file a complaint and file a complaint with the FTC.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Loans

Today i recvd a call 2/8/2011 From a man named David Smith ( NOTE: Heavt Indian Accent ) He was calling because he said that i was being sued for a pay day loan that i got a year ago. NOTE: i been BK for 2 years, not heading in the direction again. Anyhow, I remember the name of the company he said was Cash ADvance USA. This lite up a light bulb. Just last month i got a call from the same talking tone, different number, different company. Same Spiel, i googled the phone number and a list of complaints came up from people that had gotten the same call as i did. I reported them to the FBI, ETC. After I lite up, i thought, Im going to take sail on this boat. So he proceeded with his speech, and i talked over him and asked " Are you proud of what you do? " He said " Mam, what you mean?" I said " Are you proud that you feed your family having a job that consist with scamming people for money. How do you sleep at night?" He said " Whatever Mother f****er!" And hung up on me. My advice, report it every chance you get. Check often on your bank or savings account. Credit check ETC. Say what they will, take me to jail, otherwise stop calling me dude, your wasting my minutes SMH!

I sent a check to pay earlier my unsubsidized loan and they decided to split up the check to apply the amount to the subsidized portion. Even though I specify in the check the amount can only be applied to the unsubsidized portion. I tried calling them twice to fix this problem and they say this will change but it never does. I'm accruing interest that I have to pay for a loan I already pay off. I'm still waiting to see if this changes. Also they never have anybody qualify enough to give you a good answer and keep you on hold while searching for one...

I don't know who your phone provider is, buy you need to call them a complain about the calls and ask if they can give you a code to put a block on your phone to block out that phone number. that is what i also did and I have not heard back from them.

On 1/31/2011 at around 6pm, a man called me claiming his name was Officer Scott Mason calling for Money Cash Advance. He then called me names, cussed and threatened to arrest me the next day if I did not pay him $843.00 for a supposedly a $400 online loan he claims I applied for out online. He knew my social security number, address, full name, email address and last place of employment and said if I didn't pay him the company was going sue me and I would have to pay over $2000 in court charges. Then he had me write down his phone number to call him back which is [protected] and said I had to fax him something in writing stating that I authorize the debit in the amount of $843 from a prepaid card or credit card towards my outstanding amount and I ensure the payment won't get declined and I won't dispute this payment along with the date the money will be sent, the card information, exp date, CVV#, billing address, my signature, and attached photo id and to fax to [protected]. I have since contacted my local police department and filed a report with BBBonline, the FBI, consumer reports online, social security dept., and posted a message to every scam site I could find on the internet.
And since I have received at least 2 emails from individuals stating that the same thing or similar has happened to them. See below:

“ Hi Deborah,

On 2/8/2011 same situation occurred:
Caller claims there is a lawsuit filed against my name and social security #, threatened to black list my social security and file court documents under my name and social security #. Said his name was Alex Scott, his phone number is [protected] but on my caller ID it shows [protected] Syracuse, New York. I immediately phoned the police for whom I previously filed a police report with and added to the report. In addition, I contacted the FTC as well and reported it too.

My dealings with them are a total disaster.
(1).They transferred my servicing in July of 2008 with no permission from me. Since then it has been a total mess.
(2). You must register to see your account and then to register your are forced to accept an agreement to an electronic statement in the place of paper. You also agree not to make check payments.
(3). Their site stated that you can order coupons (NOT!). They totally ignore these and keep badgering you to do an electronic payment.
After all the other incompetent activities I refuse to use their payment system and use my bank's bill pay. At least I can trust them.
(4). I have tried to determine the payments. It is impossible. All that ACS will say it "level". Everything I read says 10 years which means it should be about $50.00 a month but it is now over $80.00.
(5).Do not attempt to write them on Friday or within 72 hours os Friday. Almost every Friday response says :I am sorry but we cannot locate your account". Even though the email you are using is the one you log in to see your account.I guess getting out the door for the weekend is more important than you.

I have demanded that they send my email to a supervisor and they refuse. They state that I must phone their 800 number. I refuse to do this after all of the lies. I want it in writing.

(6). They send you a "Payment Reminder" 2 - 3 weeks before the payment due date every month stating that your payment is "due and payable". That thar be Credit Collection harassment to me. ALso, the email is incorrectly coded as "Content-Type: text/plain" which means that if your email clients does not assume that there is HTML in it you get to see all the nice coding.

Have fun folks.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Trying to force me to pay money

For the past several days my friends and myself have been harrassed by this company who call themselves ACS. A man who identified himself as Scott White and Jeff Williams [protected] have made threats of sueing me and or my friends if I don't authorized them to debit my checking account for $350 today. They claimed there is no paperwork with heavy accents. They said I own money to a company called Advance Cash USA. I don't have any knowledge of this company and how they got my information is scary. I have obtained loans before, but not from this company because I have no record.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education The WORST student loan company

I'm glad to hear I"m not alone with this awful company but am sorry other people have had to deal with them. My biggest complaint is pure stupidity with the customer service representatives. First of all, everything is a huge timeconsuming ordeal. To enroll in automatic payments (Checkmate program) you have to fill out a form with a voided check and wait several months for it to take effect. Most companies offer online services and changes are effective within a month. When I switched bank accounts I called to cancel my automatic payments a week before my payment was due and made a payment through my new bank. Of course ACS didn't cancel the automatic payment and took a payment from my old account, causing overdraft fees and a huge mess. Why would it take over 5-7 business days to cancel a payment? The customer service representatives have always been very rude, hard to understand, or just plain ###ed.

At one point I was unemployed and requested a forbearance on my loan. My federal loan company said no problem, fill out this form, and within a week it was taken care of. With ACS I filled out the form, waited three weeks, finally called and was told they were waiting for the guarantor to respond and I was still responsible for payments. A few weeks later I received a letter saying my request was denied. This company doesn't give a ### about any of its customers. If I could find another company that would offer loans to people out of college I would switch in a heartbeat.

The next issue is the way they apply payments. My monthly due date is the 14th and if I make a payment a week early it will apply the payment but doesn't count towards the minimum due, making your account delinquent. I'm starting to also wonder if my accrued interest isn't being calculated properly. After 2 1/2 years a majority of my payment is still going towards interest and my minimum payment is constantly changing. On a $124 payment, only approximately $30 is going towards principle. Does anyone know how the interest is calculated?

Try this one: for SIX years on a $43, 000 student loan I have paid $21, 606 at 7.35% interest. For all of this time my current pay off balance is $40, 305. So basically $2, 500 of my $21, 606 has gone towards principal. These guys are a bunch of jackholes and I wish I was better at investigating how they determine the accrued interest and capitalized interest and how they apply that to the principal. I'm at my wit's end and so frustrated with this black hole of $300 going to something that it seems like I'll never pay off at the formula they are using.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Fraud

I just received a call today at work from someone claiming he was Steve Jackson. I also talked with someone who said his name was Richard WIlson. The two numbers I was given were [protected] and [protected] This person has an accent of I guess middle eastern or Indian. Very hard to understand. This so called collection agency claims that I owed them 685.00 for a payday loan. I didn't ask when this loan was taken out, but I know I did not take out this so called loan because I never received the funds. There is only one loan I took out a few months ago which is also when I believed this company got my information and started calling me to collect this money. I have only spoken with them just today for the first time and have come to realize it is a scam. I was very close to making the payments but something got me to thinking about a couple of things. One, they wanted a photocopy of my drivers license. This is what made me think because no payday loan I have ever done that was online has ever asked me for my drivers license. I also visited the website for Advance Cash USA to see if maybe I had an account that I didn't know about and could not find anyplace on their site to log in. I called their number and did not get an answer. I have another payday loan that has not been paid yet so I checked to see if maybe their collection agency was calling me and found that their agencies name is AIS and not the one that has been calling me all day today. So the realization has set in with reading other peoples complaints with the same company. I am now confident that this is not something that is my responsibility because this loan never existed.

This company removed funds from my account without my permission. My last log on date on their website was a month ago, so I know I didn't do it and forgot. When I called to tell them about it, the representative could NOT tell me where the transaction took place. She then made it seem as if I set up a bill pay (which I did not) through my bank. I don't even have a transaction number for this payment. I told them that if they do it again I was going to sue them. She then proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't make those accusations. I reiterated again, if that happened again, I would SUE them. Under no circumstances should any company remove funds without my PERMISSION. I did not sign an agreement for them to remove funds at their LEISURE! I am not signed up for automatic bill pay. The only reason they have my banking information is because it was more convenient to pay online than to send a check everyone month. I am sure there are other people who they have done this to, but probably don't know where to turn with this.

Hi,
I stay in milestone apartments. My name is madhavi. Actually i have to pay the apartment by 10th.But on 18th i paid the rent as i was not here. And i am the only one staying in this apartment.
But the apartment people went for legal proceedings and issued legal notice and also
a trial case on 09/10 .I did pay the entire amount on 18th august and on 28th august they sent me a notice that i am still due the total amount.I paid rent 1090$ + water bill 46$ on 18th of august.

Is there anything you can question them?

I am extremely disappointed by what they did.
Every month i have been paying them on time.
And it is not justificable to issue a trial case against me .

Thanks,
Madhavi A.

These guys are horeable. I have been trying to get the online account to work for 6 months. I call every week and I have to go through 15 minutes of the same procedures every time and then they tell me they have to send it to their IT dept. They say I will have an answer in 24 hours, but they never respond or call me back. The next week I call and it happens all over again. I don't know what my balance is or what they have been doing with my money. I need to figure out what to do. Help me.

I just called ACS to find out the status of an IBR that was submitted at the beginning of Dec.09 and was told I would have to be transferred to a different department. I was transferred to a number that announced the number has been changed. I dialed the new number and was patched into a "Free sexline" service. What idiots. It is very hard to find the actual number for ACS...makes one wonder- why are they hiding? Well the IBR was supposed to have been reviewed and decided upon at the beginning of this month and there is no communication from ACS whatsoever...

Same as alomost everyone else that has written about this guy, I receieved the massage will working and could not reeally understand him that well. This Idian speaking man was trying to get me to pay $300 dollars on a $4, 500.00 deliqent loan I owed to cash adavanced. I do what most normal people to and go into defense mode and try to explain to him that I had no idea of tthis loan, as the only thing he could tell me was it was under my scocial security number. I had my family look this ACS company up only to find that BBB rated them as a major scam and google had all this info on them.

Shortly after find out this guy was a a scam I spamed call this number [protected] around 60 to 70 times in two days, acting like someone else from time to time saying rube things to them and laughing at them while I did it. Well lets just say it worked as they cursed me and said rube things back as well. Anyway sure hope nobody pays these people anything, just laugh at them and hang up. Then get all your friends to spam call they and curse them and say rude things to them.

I get a call from Shawn Martin, claiming to be looking for an individual that listed me as a reference. I couldn't tell if it was a male or female that I was talking too. It claimed to be seeking this person as a lawsuit was being filed for a loan. I asked them if they understood what '3rd party disclosure' meant and they had no clue. I asked to speak to an american that spoke fluent english, this dork said they weren't speaking chinese and continued talking. I told him that I'm a private investigator and wanted their business license number and it didn't have a clue what I was asking. I told it that they were full of [censored] and idiots and to stop calling. They use the names: Shawn Martin and Savio. Quite obvious they are descent from 3 world country or indian with a dot. The numbers on caller ID are: [protected] and [protected].

I received a phone call from a foreign guy today telling me that I owed $1000 on a payday loan. I explained to him that I did not have a payday loan. He became very rude and insisted that I pay him. When I started inquiring about the details of this "payday loan" he was not forthcoming. I asked them to send me the information in writing because I did not have a payday loan.

They told me they were going to call me 1000 times a day until I paid him money. I told him that he couldn't do that and he said that he had the NYPD in his back pocket. He then wanted $315.00, then $312.00 to make all of this go away. Then then call me for an entire hour non-stop. When I asked them to stop they laughed. I asked for their address and name and they said they could not give that to me.

These people are scammers who are harrassing people for money and they need to be stopped. The only phone number I got is [protected]. If anyone else has had this happen, please let me know.

I have had the WORST customer service with ACS- I hardly know where to begin. I have spent hours of my time on the phone with them, having people either tell me A) they cannot resolve my complaint (so basically, telling me "too bad"), or B) telling me they have done whatever I'm requesting only to find out later that nothing changed and nothing was done. Their website is not user friendly and their emails are confusing, sometimes contradicting themselves. They have an extremely slow processing time, and the excuse I heard for this from one manager I spoke to on the phone was that "we're a big company". (I work for a large, national company as well and we still have rapid processing times.) One "manager" I spoke to on the phone, Eric Hall, gave me his email address to follow up on something with and has failed to contact me back despite multiple emails. When I have called and asked to speak to him again I am told they can't connect me to him unless I have his direct extension, and then whoever else I'm stuck speaking to, the "manager" for the day, isn't able to help me anymore than he did. I am so frustrated at the amount of time I have to spend on the phone with them or at the fax machine, knowing there will be no compensation for MY time spent navigating their system when the problem is theirs. I could not recommend more strongly to others that they avoid using this company.

They service loans for multiple banks. Mostly Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and JP Morgan Chase it seems. Send them an email or letter asking for a copy of the Promissory Note (the thing you signed in college allowing loans to be made for your education). If they can't furnish you with one then (or it's not your signature) then there is a definite issue. You can also check the Department of Educations Loan Data Base. www.nslds.ed.gov or call them at [protected]

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Phishing Scam

I received a phone call from a friend of mine saying that somebody named "Mac" left a nasty voicemail for me saying that they are trying to get in contact with me because I'm committing fraud with a finance company. They said that I used her name as a reference and that's why they called her work number. The number to call back is [protected] and ask for "Mac". She said that it was from a guy with a really heavy accent and was hard to understand on the voicemail.

8 Nov 10--I called the phone number above and got a male with heavy accent. He asked for my name and phone number as reference. I asked him what ACS stood for twice and on the third time he gave me the full name. As he was trying to tell me what the "debt" was for I looked the name up on the internet. I then asked him if he was aware that this company has been flagged as a web/phishing scam and he said really quickly "this is done by people like you who don't want to pay your debts". So I humored him and asked what my debt was and with whom. Apparently back in February of 2010 I requested a payday loan from CashnetUSA in the amount of $300.00. So then I said "there should be a deposit in my account in February for the amount of $300.00?" and he said yes and then he started talking to someone else in the background. When I told him I was logging on to my bank account to verify the funds deposited HE HUNG UP! I am calling my bank and of course alerting the MILITARY community. DO NOT FALL PREY TO THEIR SCHEMES!

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Lost Payments

I received a late payment notice in the mail on 10/28/10. I called ACS and they said they never received the payment. On 10/16/10 I received a letter from ACS informing me that the address for mailed payments has changed, the letter was dated 10/6/10, I updated the payee information with my bank on 10/18/10. However, the payment for October was mailed on 9/28/10 from my bank as the bill is due on the 14th of the month. Since the loans were transferred to ACS in 2007 I have had my bank sending the check to ACS on the 1st of the month. (The bank mails the payment two days ahead of time) The bill is due on the 14th of the month. Checking on my payment history I noticed that up until 2010 the payment was credited to my account on the last day of the month before the month it is due. Starting in 2010 the payment was being credited on the 2 and as of June 2010 it is all over the place from a week after it is mail to the actual due date, except of course for Octobers which is still missing. The customer service representatives say they can not see my payment history and so can not tell me why that is happening. After a long conversation trying to explain that there was no way for me to know the address was changing before my payment was due, they ACS agreed to wave the late fee on my account. They could not tell me what the plan was to handle the payments that would show up at the old address.

To those interested in filing a Class Action Lawsuit against ACS - Affiliated Computer Services, a student loan servicing company,

I've formed a Complaints Board Group to inform and coordinate people who believe they are victims of ACS's deceptive and fraudulent practices.

Have you noticed that your principle doesn't decrease as it should? That every year you pay more interest than that appropriate for your interest rate? That ACS has misapplied your payments? Have you received phone calls and letters that your payment wasn't received only to look at your bank statement that ACS cashed the check? Do you have to supply proof for months only for ACS to deny having received the proof? Have you noticed that ACS holds your payment checks and deposits them on the date that most benefits ACSI? Did you know that for some people, if their check is not received and cashed on the EXACT date that the payment is due, the vast majority, if not all of the payment will go towards interest and therefore never be applied to pay down your principle?

I'm currently in touch with lawyer who successfully argued and opened the door for a Class Action Lawsuit against ACS.

See the lawsuit here:
http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-2nd-circuit/1531053.html

And a summary of it here:
http://studentlendinganalytics.typepad.com/student_lending_analytics/2009/03/recent-case-over-misapplied-student-loan-payments-opens-door-for-possible-class-action-lawsuit.html

Please join and help to document this company's practices. This is going to take a group effort.

The group is titled ACS - Class Action Lawsuit for fraudulent and deceptive practices.

ThiaC,
This is exactly what ACS does all the time. Please join our group. They are applying your payments at random times because they are maximizing the interest they are getting and YOUR principle is NOT going down as it should. Currently i have a 4.14% interest rate...I pay $1400 a month and less than 400 should go towards interest and the extra $1000 should be put towards paying down principle. Because of their deceptive way of applying payments, my principle has HARDLY budged in 8 years. There's a possible class action lawsuit - i've contacted Orin Kurtz who represented the plaintiff in the case. Their case opened the way for a class action lawsuit. Now we need documentation. Please join the group and let's get moving on this. There are thousands of us out there, completely at the mercy of these greedy ###. I feel for you.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education predatory lending

So many people have contacted me about an ACS lawsuit getting off the ground. Does anyone know how to start a chat group? I have not been able to focus on getting this thing together but I think if we're able to chat directly in a forum centered exclusively on this issue, something good may come of it. If you guys want to know about the previous lawsuit won against ACS, this is the info: Joshua G. Fensterstock vs. Education Finance Partners and ACS. He was represented by Alan & Sash of McLaughlin &Stern. The CEo of ACS is lynn.[protected]@acs.com. I believe ACS has a F rating with the BBB.
WE ARE ALL VICTIMS OF PREDATORY LENDING BY ACS! EVEN IF WE ARE SCATTERED AROUND THE U.S., WE CAN STILL MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN. I have a folder in my e-mail account with many of your e-mail addresses. Please expect contact soon.

Have an EXTREME issue with ACS not accepting my bankruptcy. I went to UOP and had a tuition loan and a school grant. The UOP portion of the loan was dismissed in FEDERAL bankruptcy court. ACS claims to "not acknowledge" the bankruptcy dismissal! Not only that I over paid and ACS owes me around $500! Instead, ACS issued a forebearance to "investigate" to see if the bankruptcy claim is even true. Some of their agents acknowledge receiving the bankruptcy dismissal HOWEVER don't acknowledge its standing?! ACS to this day is attaching late fees and penalties because of their forebearance and refuses to resolve the situation. FYI the forebearance fees are almost as much as they owe me, coincidental, huh?! And that after only six months! I have turned them into the BBB before as they acted as a collection agency for a different matter and did the same thing - deceptive trade practices. Would love for some advice/assistance in my matter from anyone! My contact is rmd812@consolidated.net Regina is my name. Subject should be ACS disputes! Thank you everyone for letting me vent!

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education - Possible Class Action Lawsuit

ACS - CHECK YOUR AMORTIZATION SCHEDULE!!! I've been dealing with ACS since our loans were transfered to them in January, 2006. At least once a year they lose a payment, attributed it to one loan and not the other, and in both cases charge me late fees and contact the credit agencies. We pay our monthly payment directly through our bank on the same date...

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education ACS Sends Incorrect Reports to the Credit Bureau On Your Account

ACS will report you to the credit bureau when they are not supposed to!

I have never worked with anyone as horrible as ACS - if you ever get a loan with them pay it off or go with someone else. If you're a student, you may unknowingly accept an ACS loan. Every Rep I spoke with never had any idea of how to help or answer the most simple of questions.

They told me that you DON'T need to make payments while you are in school, but constantly send letters in the mail for ways to pay (invoices dated while you're in school). Over the summers they say you are required to make payments, but if you dont want to, all you have to do is send a form in once the next school year starts. Every year they'd send my "missed' payments between the school years to the CREDIT BUREAU without waiting for that paper. I called each year and they fixed it except for the summer before my last year. Now I have a 60 day late mark on my credit, and they wont fix this last summer!?! I HATE ACS. I hope someone gets rid of this company as they have horrible business practices.

I have read several stories of people having the exact same problem. My issue is a little different and I was wondering if anyone might be able to help.

I took out a student loan through EFP/ACS. I had to stop going to school for 2 years and during this period I tried to deffer my payments several times. Every time I sent the paper work EFC/ACS claimed they never got the paper work. Eventually they sent me to collections. I've tried contacting both EFC and ACS, but apparently EFc filed for bankruptcy and ACS claims I am no where to be found in there system. At this point I have no idea who hold my loan.

If anyone is experiencing the same problem and has any additional info on this matter any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Brenna

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Customer service misadvising

ACS phone representatives misadvised in ways that significantly inconvenienced and stressed me, and it's possible that their incompetence will result in an unfavorable mark on my credit history.

A representative advised me to fill out a Hardship Deferment application and to attach proof that I had been granted an Unemployment Deferment by Direct Loans (a government lender). I did so, and my application was rejected.

I was told that no supporting documentation had accompanied my application. So I resubmitted (thinking the attached doc had gotten misplace the first time), and again I was told the same thing.

When I called and spoke with a different representative, she informed me that no supporting documentation had been included with my application. When I protested that that was not so, and explained that I had enclosed a copy of the Direct Loans deferment, she said that that was not valid. Ugh! (So to ACS, insufficient=none.)

This second representative then misadvised me. She told me to submit a different application--the ACS Unemployment form and attach a copy of the Direct Loans deferment and the deferment will be granted. However, the form she directed me to does not indicate that a Direct Loans deferment is acceptable documentation.

In fairness to these two representatives, it is not entirely a poor customer support issue. ACS's forms appear poorly designed. The Hardship Deferment does indicate that proof from Direct Loans is adequate support (but apparently it cannot be based on "unemployment") and the Unemployment Deferment does *not* allow for such documentation.

I'm FAXing the ACS Unemployment deferment today, and including the documentation that Direct Loans granted an unemployment deferment just for good measure. I sure hope ACS doesn't reject my application this time, as that would mean my account could be reported as delinquent (or whatever the language they use is).

Yours truly,

Very frustrated (unnecessarily)

I've been dealing off and on with ACS for 4 years. Here are some survivor tips. 1) When they ask you to fax something. Fax it everyday for like 10 days straight. It works and I do have an at home fax machine. 2) When you want to pay more than the balance due. Have it ach through your bank. Don't have your bank send a check. I learned the hard way. A check ACS can claim they hadn't received it, when they have it, they can gain more interest before cashing it. I played around with my banking system and once I kept the payment under $850, they sent it electronically (anything more than that prompted a paper check). Now I wanted to send in $8000, so I had to setup 10 payments of different amounts (different by a penny - i.e 800.00, 800.01, 800.02 etc, . to total $8000) to get my bank to not send a check. I guess if you set up a large amount to pay through online bill pay - ACS can request that it get sent in the check form. Also, they changed my account number, when I used the new number a paper check gets sent by my bank I canceled the request and put in my old account number - it was sent ach. Since I wasn't formally notified that the account number has changed, I'm ignoring it for now. I just assume when they send a new payment booklet for next year it will be updated with the new account number. I hope to have the entire loan paid off by 12/31. I hope this helps someone out there, because ACS is sneaky and pesty. But we should just up our game too. Also, ach they can't deny they received, with a check- they can deny they received. I would never use their system to pay a bill. They will only pull on your due date - more interest for them.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Fraudulent banking practices

For the second time this institution has repeatedly made attempts to withdraw money from my bank account with authorization. I made a payment on my student loan online. ACS then repeatedly attempted to withdraw money from the account three weeks in a row, causing overdraft fees. This is the second time this institution accessed my bank account without my permission on multiple weeks in a row.

At this point I am afraid to even attempt to pay the loan by check. What a supervisor told me this morning is that they will only collect on a check once, however, they will utilize an ATM card for multiple collections. No where, and I have printed out all of the documentation from their website this morning, no where do they say they will make repeated withdraws from your bank account when you are submitting a one time monthly payment.

I am turning them into anyone I can. I do not see any difference between someone stealing my ATM card and accessing my account and ACS accessing my account on multiple occasions without authorization.

ACS (College Loan Corp.) are thieves, They fall under the same catagory as Apollo Group and University of Phoenix. I was told that grants would cover my ENTIRE education. Upon receiving notification from ACS stating I had student loans, I immediately withdrew from UOP. I should have never been approved for any student loans nor did I authorize (via e-signature) for these loans.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education I merely transferred, I did not leave school

I have merely transferred schools, I did not leave nor graduate. I believe Kaplan University turned this loan over to this unscrupulous lender thinking that I would just give up after being forced out due to their financial wrongdoing. Kaplan maxed out my loans and kept them, as well as my Pell Grants, for over 9 months collecting interest on every penny. I have transferred my Direct loans as well as my FAFSA. I cannot begin until October due to the way they locked me into their fiscal year system. I have been accepted as a student and now am in the process of filing suit against Kaplan University for libel and wrongful use of my government loans and grants.
I will repay my student loans, in full, when I finish my education. I will consolidate with Direct Loans.

I have found that ACS recorded the amount of the payment I made in December of 2017 for less than the amount I actually paid. Trying to get a credit to my account has proven to be a not so easy thing to do. So, everyone out there who has a loan repayment financed through ACS, keep an eye on your account.

I have a student loan with them and have been trying to get on the 2 yr interest only program because I can't afford the payments now because I am unemployed. This was the only option I was given. They will not allow me to clam economic hardship or even give any advise on what I can do. I had to pay up to less than 60 days past due or they wouldn't implement the 2 year interest only loan. I have payed up and applied 4 times now since January and they conveniently have lost my emails or by the time they "went to process" my payment is was once again past 60 days. I have documents of all my emails sent to them and the responses. Not only that they call me everyday more than once. I am sick of being harassed and mistreated by them. I don't know what I can do! I have other student loan providers and none of them have ever harassed me this much and left no options. Every time I try to jump through hoops to make sure I am in good standing they keep finding ways to make it impossible.

I'm glad to see someone taking action. I have sent, re-sent, and sent again paperwork that they claim they have never received. I have spoke with people who claim that action has not been taken, only to be transferred to a supervisor who tells me down to the second when paper work was processed. The customer service of this company is the worst I have ever seen or encountered. After reading the complaints that are posted, I am scared to death to deal with this people.

Amen and amen again. Words cannot even express the contempt I have for ACS Education, and this is coming from a person who is not spiteful or vindictive. After 11 months of trying to get them to change my status back to in-school deferment, I still have no resolve. Typical situation. I sit on hold for 30 minutes and then finally get someone on the line who denies ever receiving the hard copy of the deferment in the mail, via fax, and email. It is systemic across the entire ACS system and their so-called customer support has infuriated me on so many occasions that I lost count. Class action suit? While I admit I am not "sue-happy", this is one situation that has well and truly pushed me past my breaking point. I will look for your group and join. Thank you!

ACS is a scam syndicate and a disorganized institution of harassers. I'm a victim of IDENTITY THEFT that actually took place through a different bank via the internet four years ago. ACS bought that loan from the bank a year and a half ago, and have been sending me bills every since. As of today, I've had to request my THIRD fraudulent loan affidavit form to prove I do NOT owe them any money, and ACS claims the first form I filled out never made it back to them. The second form I requested (after finding out MONTHS after sending the first affidavit back to them) was never sent it to me! It's like they don't want to admit they bought a loan from a bank that was stupid enough to give away money to any 'ol crook with a stolen SSN and the dexterity in their hands to click on an "I agree that I am who I claim to be" e-signiture button on their online master promissory note web page. So I get the feeling I'll never see this third affidavit form I requested because ACS doesn't want to deal with it, and this identity theft will NEVER be solved. Hell, the original culprit will probably get away with the whole thing even if I do prove my case. Meanwhile, these ACS loan sharks will continue to harass me for the money that I don't owe, all because they're is too ###ed or purposefully trying to lose paperwork... especially their affidavit forms that could make them forfeit their precious interest! I'm refuse to pay for a loan I never took out. But at the same time, I'm tired of this run-around.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Defferment

I have been on disability for over a year due to an accident at work and ACS has honored my defferments due to that fact, now they are trying to say they no longer accept the fact that being disabled qualifies for a defferment. I can't work because i'm on disability so in essence I can't pay them, but do you think they care? then when I tried to go on their website to contact them all you get is a big runaround, this is one of those companys that dictate the rules as they go along to benefit themselves.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education ACS is terrible

Hi all! I just found out the CEO and owner.. and found their email addresses! :)
I sent off a "nice" little email to our friends out there in their cushy little homes explaining how terrible their company is... I doubt it'll do anything but hopefully it'll rock their boat a bit that one of the "pee-ons" was able to get their private emails! haha! :)
below is my email:

Dear Mr. Leafstedt and Mr. Atkinson,
I am writing to you in regards to some problems I have encountered with your company, ACS. I have a college education loan with the company that in May was bought from Chase and ever since there have been nothing but problems. I am not one to complain but this has to be brought to your attention.
As soon as my loan went to your company, I paid my bill ON TIME through Electronic Transfer with my bank, it was paid and accepted by ACS on time, BEFORE the due date. However, I got a phone call that I never paid my bill and that I was being sent to collections. After hours of dealing with terrible customer service and trying to speak with managers but clearly just being handed off from person to person and never really getting the manager I asked to speak with, we were finally able to prove this was ACS's mistake. We faxed over proof THREE TIMES that our payment was made on time.. this was done by both my husband and I, as well as our bank itself. Finally, it was dealt with and we thought maybe the worst of it was over. In the meantime, my husband and I did, however, do our research on your company and found out we are not the only ones who have encountered these issues. And not just similar issues but the EXACT same ones. My husband and I hoped we would make it a month or so before we would have to deal with another situation like this again, but we were wrong. Just this morning (6/22/10), I got a phone call that I was "late" on my payment. However, the payment was made and accepted through our bank's Electronic Transfer on June 3rd and accepted on June 4th, but once again, never applied to my account. This is outrageous! I called again and was told there was a problem on our bank's end but this is not the case. This was a flat out lie that was made up by your customer service team to cover up the fact that they are making mistakes left and right. It seems your company has a tendency to "lose" payments and just not apply them to accounts. This is absolutely absurd! You can not have a company who does this! I understand the economic times are tough and you need to save money in order to make money.. but you've got to hire capable, competent accountants who do their job appropriately! Something here must change! I'm begging you.. I understand you guys are making tons of money and that's probably all you really care about but in order to truly have a successful company you've got to care a little bit and do business the right way. This is NOT the right way. Your employees are lying and cheating and pretty much incompetent.

Thank you,
Kelly

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Not counting payments made a year ago

In 2007, I took out a loan for $3, 500.

Last year, I paid $2, 595 (in May of 2009) and another $50 (in December of 2009). I have receipts for both. Wachovia had my total amount due listed at about $855.

Now, when ACS took my loan, some funny things happened. ACS listed this on their website:

ORIGINAL LOAN AMOUNT $3, 500.00
LAST AMOUNT PAID $2, 595.00
OUTSTANDING BALANCE $3, 461.30

When I click on the $2, 595, all they show is the more recent $50 payment.

Any suggestions for how to deal with this incompetent loan service? I sent them an e-mail; it's Memorial Day today. I'll call them tomorrow.

Forgot to say that since this is a school loan, there should be no interest until I graduate.

On 4/19/12, I paid off my entire student loan in the amount of $6, 379.00. The next morning 4/20/12, I checked the DL Loans/ACS web site but no payment had been registered to my account. The company had reported issues with their web site and so I submitted the payment again. I was charged again, in the amount of $6, 380.17, which completely drained my bank account, leaving me overdrawn and without any money of my own. ACS representatives have told me there is a 4-7 week process to get the money returned to me through the Department of Education. ACS claims they have no power whatsoever to return my money. What can I do? Thank you for any advice. -Mark Norby, Minneapolis

That's exactly their MO. They apply the payments on the dates that benefit them the most. Write to them and ask for a complete history of your account. This company is disgraceful.

I just recently discovered ACS failed to credit one of my payments properly (and not just the waiting to process payments to gain more interest way.) On October 6, 2010, according to their own website I had an outstanding principal balance of 18, 294.09 for one of my student loan accounts. I made a payment in November which they processed November 5. According to their website, they applied $10.73 to principal. This should have decreased my outstanding principal balance to $18, 283.36. I then made a payment in December, which they applied $34.64 to principal. This should have decreased my outstanding principal balance to 18, 248.72. However, their website claims that my outstanding principal balance is $18, 259.45, which is a $10.73 difference in favor of them. When I contacted them regarding this, they claimed they were right, and mentioned the amount applied to interest and principal depends on the day the payment is received. I wasn't complaining about them applying a lot to interest. I was complaining about them claiming to apply a payment to principal but failing to actually do so, and this is the one I caught. I have to wonder how many times they have done this and I and others haven't caught them.

This isn't just incompetent service. This is fraud - and very purposeful. There are thousands of us who are dealing with the same exact situation. Believe me, I've been dealing with ACS for 8 years now and I've BARELY paid down my principle even though i pay three times what the monthly interest is! And my principle does not go down! They misapply your payments in their best interest - but it's not in your promissory not that they can do that - it's flat our fraud and they've been getting away with it for almost a decade with me!

Please join the group I formed.

Bridgette

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education unacceptable ignorance

I received a letter in the mail, May 20, 2010. I called to inquire what letter was about. Chase has been sold to ACS Education Loan Services. I had established months a go to reduce payments, which would be $91.23 a month. I spoke with the rudest, most arrogant person ever. I felt like I killed someone. She said I was behind, would not reduce my payment and when I insisted on speaking with supervisor, put me on hold for many minutes. Supervisor was worse than the other person. Would not help/assist me, answers appeared to be programmed. I am paying for my education and realize it is my responsibility to pay back, but not at the amount they insist on. I never had a problem with Chase and they went above and beyond the call of duty to help me. I understand about repayind debt, however, no one is going to speak like that to me and get away with it. I am a legal citizen, served my country 21 years in military, put myself through school, and this is the way I am treated. I DO NOT THINK SO.

wow - all of a sudden ACS can't figure out how to post a payment, they post it as rounded off numbers, so if your payment is say $120.95, they post the $120.00 & then send you a statement that say your .95 past due! HELLO, MY NAME IS PEGGIE!

IBR will hurt you more than help you. Every year you're on it, it takes away one year that you're allowed to repay it. So if you had a 10 yr repayment plan and signed up for IBR, you would only have 9 years left when it was over. IBR lasts one year at at time.

And Roy301, interest accrues daily, not yearly. And if it isn't fixed, then that's why you are still paying on this loan.

THEY ARE RUDE AND DON"T GIVE A DAMN>>> LOAN SHARKS HAVE BETTER RATES

If your main problem is that you would like to reduce your monthly student loan payment, you can do so by contacting ACS and if you have federal loans (government-backed) sign up for Income-Based Repayment, which caps your your student loan payment at a maximum of 15% of your discretionary income (and less if you have dependents). For more information about Income-Based Repayment visit www.ibrinfo.org.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education school loan

My husband and I are trying to get his school loan paid off. This has been a thorn in our side for the last 10 years. We're finally able to pay extra each month. According to ACS, we can only pay on principle 3 days out of the month. So if we want to pay anything extra it HAS to be on these 3 certain days. It makes no sense to me. They are automatically taking $ out each month to go towards the loan. Why can't we pay extra ANYTIME through the month to go towards the principle? Chase just sold our loan to ACS. So for the past 2 months nothing was taken out. I made a $350 payment in April, thinking it would go to the principle--only $80 some went to principle, the rest to interest. It makes me SICK! These loan companies don't want to do anything to help the average American. My husband is a math teacher so we have a very average salary. I'm ready to take this to a much higher level!

on student loans, interest accrues on a daily basis. Any payment you make, interest is going to come out 1st. Anything that is left over is applied to the principle. So, if you want to try to pay the loan off faster, you just need to send in more than your fixed payment amount, and no it DOES NOT have to be on a certain 3 days out of the month.
