University of Phoenix [UOPX] Love this school

I started online classes for my bachelor's degree for accounting in November of 2022. I had no income and actually became homeless. I have been on the deans list since I started and even today I'm barely making it by but the school is so understanding and they email me when I'm doing good and when it seems like Im struggling. They always let me know there is resources available and they are always there for me. I even went on accomodations when I was struggling mentally and I take a LOA when life gets to hard and I need a small break. The financial aid is straight forward and easy to use. My instructors have even let the school know when they seen me struggling and they are super understanding and I like that. My only problem is the Honor society keeps emailing me over and over and I have told them more than once, I can't afford food let alone the fee for the honor society. To pls stop emailing me but they continue. This school is amazing and I recommend it to anyone. Just have common sense and you will be fine.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Financial aid and misinformation

Everything was going fine until I started to ask questions about my disbursement wich I need to pay for my internet and I had the bank notary not check the dated on my student identification form, so I went to the bank and had another one done and took it to the post office right away, second day air with signature and then days later I get a call saying they never recieved it and I tracked it and they did recieve it, someone signed for it so I told her to check into it, then I call to complain because I was told I would get my disbursement on oct 2, by 2 different people, but the 3 rd lady said no, not for 3 more weeks, then I get a call by one of them saying they received it and that they would expedite my disbursement, then I get a call today, october 6th and this gal says they didn't receive it and that all she sees on my account is the old notary, well I know for a fact that I sent the right one because the newer notary had 2 pages and I made dam sure I sent the right one so that I could get my money, so now I have to go to my bank again for the third time to notarize this form again and send it 1st day air with signature again with tracking like last time, if they pull anymore games on me, I will withdraw, they were always very vague on the answers I needed, like how much would my disbursement be and how much I would owe after I graduate and they never told me this but im in a four year degree and they told me it was a 2 year degree, man I dont know what to think of this place, what, do they have teenagers answering these phones? Because the professionals aren't there

Desired outcome: When i send the notarized form i expect it to be processed that day and disbursement expidited into my direct deposit within 3 day! Dam how hard can this be?

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Veteran Benefits

I have contact the school on numerous occasions on how I would finance my classes. I have been dealing with the issue since July of 2023. I have submitted the required chapter 33 benefits twice and each time the paper gets lost. Each person that I talk to always tells me something different. I ask to speak with a supervisor I am told I can't. This last call with the university has been over 2 hours and yet nothing has been resolved. I have been transferred numerous times and had to reverify on majority of the transfers. This unacceptable and not the way your students should be treated!

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Financial aid

I initially signed up for my first class at Pheonix university but had a family emergency come up so I dropped the class. I talked to my academic advisor about what I needed to do so that I wouldn't be charged anything for the dropped class. I was told I withdrew in time that no fee would be charged and no Pell grant money would be used. I signed back up for the same class five weeks later and completed that class with a B+. I officially withdrew from the University of Phoenix after completing the class to return to college in GA. I am a 43 yr old woman from Georgia just trying to change career paths but not have to pay out of pocket. I graduated top of my class in high school and I qualified for the Hope scholarship and the Hope grant which covered all of my tuition and books at several different colleges for a few different diplomas. I did not want to go into debt with loans at my age just to go back to school and further my education. The amount of Pell grant I was granted by far covered the one class I took and finished. I withdrew from the college and took the exit exam for financial aid and talked with the financial advisor making sure I had a balance of $0 before leaving. Everything was good. I owed nothing and had the school return the unused funds back to the government. Now I'm getting daily emails about a $681.80 balance I now owe for what!?!? I feel if there was a $0 balance when I withdrew then I should still have a zero balance. Why would the school not use the federal aid I had to cover that before sending it back? I am completely lost and I have tried to communicate with the school about this and I just get taken in circles with no answer except "it's different" when dealing with tuition and what you owe the school. The class I took basically is no good because it will not transfer due to accreditation.

Desired outcome: My balance to return to $0 like it was when I left the school. I do not feel I owe anything and if I did it should’ve been taken out of the Pell money before the school sent it back.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Warning: Stay Away from University of Phoenix - A Personal Review

This college ain't worth it, man. Like seriously, only 7% of students actually graduate from this place. That's like, crazy low. And if you put this "university" on your resume, you're gonna get laughed at by every employer out there. Trust me, I know. I wasted my money on this scam and I regret it every day. Don't make the same mistake I did, bro. Stay away from University of Phoenix.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Expensive and Disappointing: My Experience at University of Phoenix

I went to the University of Phoenix and it cost me a lot of money. I had to take out a loan for over 55 thousand dollars. I didn't realize how much debt I was getting into when I enrolled in 2013. The people who work at UOP helped me fill out the paperwork for the loan, but now I regret it because I will never be able to buy a house.

The classes at UOP were okay. They were online, so I could do them from home. But sometimes it was hard to stay motivated because I didn't have a teacher in front of me. I had to do everything on my own. The assignments were easy, but they took a lot of time. I had to read a lot of articles and write a lot of papers.

The teachers were nice, but they didn't really help me learn. They just graded my assignments and gave me feedback. I didn't feel like I was getting a real education. I was just going through the motions.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend the University of Phoenix. It's too expensive and the education isn't worth it. If you're thinking about going to UOP, make sure you understand how much debt you'll be getting into. It's not worth it.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] University of Phoenix: A Confusing and Expensive Experience

So, I gotta say, my experience with University of Phoenix (phoenix.edu) wasn't exactly a walk in the park. I mean, don't get me wrong, I was excited to start taking their online courses and get my degree, but it took me almost 2 whole years before I could even get started! And why, you might ask? Well, it's because they kept changing up their site and making it all confusing and stuff. And then, get this, they had the nerve to charge my student loans just to "teach me" how to navigate their site! Can you believe that? I mean, I'm already in debt enough as it is, and now they're just adding to it with their little scam they're running. It's just not right, man.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Underwhelming Accounting Courses at University of Phoenix: A Disappointing Experience

So, I went to University of Phoenix for some accounting classes. I gotta say, I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the courses. They were just kinda meh, you know? And then when I graduated and started looking for jobs, I didn't really get much of a response from employers. It was pretty disappointing, to be honest.

Looking back, I kinda wish I had saved my money and gone to a local college instead. I think I would have gotten a better education and maybe had more success finding a job. But hey, you live and you learn, right?

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Warning: Stay Away from University of Phoenix - A Scam School Only After Your Money

University of Phoenix is not a good school, I had a bad experience and had to withdraw. They only care about your money and will send you to collections if you can't pay. Don't waste your time or money on this scam school. If you do decide to enroll, good luck because you'll need it.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Questionable Marketing Tactics at University of Phoenix

University of Phoenix is a school that I almost went to. They do a lot of marketing stuff that seems a little shady to me. They have these programs where people can get paid to get other people to sign up for classes. That seems kind of weird to me. I don't really trust a school that does stuff like that. It makes me wonder if they're more interested in making money than actually teaching people.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Disappointing Experience with University of Phoenix Online Courses

So, my wife decided to take some courses at the University of Phoenix and I gotta say, it was a pretty bad move. I mean, I don't really trust these online schools to give you much bang for your buck. I don't even know if employers really care about these degrees, ya know? I mean, there's so many free classes online that you could take that would probably be better. And if you really wanna get a degree, why not go to a real school?

University of Phoenix [UOPX] University of Phoenix: A Scam or a Real Deal? My Experience and Review

So, I started this program at University of Phoenix and I gotta say, it wasn't what I was expecting. I mean, I was excited to start and all, but within two days, I knew it wasn't for me. And when I tried to withdraw, they charged me $500! Can you believe that? And they won't even give it back to me because I didn't make "attendance" that week. What a load of crap.

Honestly, I think this whole thing is a scam. The classes and professors just give you busy work to make it seem like you're doing something important. But really, it's just a bunch of nonsense. I mean, I'm not the only one who thinks this. If you read the reviews, you'll see that a lot of other people have had the same experience.

I know, I know. You're probably thinking, "Oh, those are just disgruntled students who didn't try hard enough." But trust me, that's not the case. This is the real deal. So if you're thinking about signing up for University of Phoenix, I would seriously reconsider. It's just not worth it.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Financial aid

I attempted to go to school in 2017 and was told my financial aid would go through. I filed all the necessary paperwork but UofP would not accept my tax paperwork which was filed by a tax professional. I was a military spouse who lived separate from my spouse and they asked me to file additional documents and I was still denied financial aid. The admissions rep, Oscar told me everything would be fine and registered me for classes before my financial aid was cleared. now I owe UofP $1800 that I can not afford to pay. I am in the military and want to complete my education but I can not because this amount is holding me back from going back to school. Please help! I feel scammed.

Desired outcome: I would like the collections forgiven.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] $34000 dollar debt for an unusable two year degree

I enrolled in UOP in hopes to begin a career adulthood that was future based for me and my children. I attended UOP FROM August 2010 through August of 2012, obtaining my so called Associates degree with a 3.78 GPA.. I worked my but off to do well only to be granted a debt of 40000+ in loans, a degree nobody acknowledges, in an industry that is impossible to get hired without previous experience. I was misled from the start of my education to the end of it. Now I see that there are literally lawsuits surrounding my degree, telling me that not only did I get played, I continue to get played as the school knows they used deceptive measures to obtain my enrollment and these loans that I cannot pay off have completely crippled my financial abilities through my credit.

hi this happened to me as well. I took the associates in Business Fundamentals and only 5 of my classes were business related. I know people that took business associates online at other schools and learned everything they needed without extra schooling. They used up almost all my Pell Grant and a good amount of my loans and I am now struggling to finish my Bachleors at a much better school because i am running close to my federal limits. and the school doesnt want to help. i tried contacting the federal DoE and they said i have to fight the school first. haha

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Masters program and misrepresentation

Hello,

When I started my journey back to school it was just to get my associates degree in Accounting. Just turned 40 and wanted to complete my education. Got that certification and was asked about my plans from your representative and was convinced to continue on with my Bachelors. Good decision for that did put me where I wanted to go, so no regrets.

My regrets came later, when I was asked again what my plans were with my Bachelor and I stated was going to start preparing for the CPA exam. That is when I was convinced to continue on with the Master program. For that would prepare me to take the exam, and would have a much greater chance of passing it the first time around if I would go into the masters program. So I did.

My surprise came when I discovered that even through I had a Masters Degree in Accounting, it was basically worthless in the state of Texas. This I learned, when I registered to take the CPA exam. Apparently, in the state of Texas they frown on to much online learning. So I had to go back to school, which I did for a while, but did not complete the required classes needed to sit for the exam.

Now I know you have had some legal issue with your councilors not advising your students as they should, yet reviewing those requirement I do not qualify for this took place prior to those legal actions. But I do believe, my representative steered me in the wrong direction.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] I am complaining about this university scamming students to join their online program

I am filing a complaint regarding my finances. I attended UOPX in 11/2019 up until 04/2021. I was told by multiple faculty members, including the program's Dean that I would be able to obtain licensure in Georgia through their program. I ended up withdrawing from the program because I did not feel like I would be able to join the counseling world with an education from UOPX and the new school I am enrolled in does not accept any of the credits. My frustration is, that I was in school for almost 2 years and none of those credits were good. This was never discussed with me that this is the only program that is not CACREP accredited and they used the school's accreditation to deceive me. They failed to inform me that I would not be able to obtain my license but also that if I were to leave the program the credits were no good. They have informed me that I could still get licensure in Georgia, however if this is the case then why are none of my credits transferrable? I do not feel that it is right for me to owe UOPX especially since the education I received there has no impact whatsoever on my future. It felt like I was scammed. Please help me rectify this issue ASAP.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Axia online college

I was attending Axia online college, I was very excited and keeping up with my courses also my grades were good. But because I had been out of school for more than ten years before returning, I was one semester away from earning my associates degree. I was struggling in my math class so I contacted the advisor and she explain to me what I should do. Then I contacted the professor over the class and explained to her that it had been a while since I was in school and that I was struggling. I explained to her I didn't want to fail the class and ask her if she would give me and incomplete then I would retake the class but not lose my financial aid in the process. She explain she doesn't give incompletes and even if I was to drop her class I would still end up failing. She also said my financial aid was not her concerns. Well after that I talked to my advisor once more to see what other options I could take. Even though they were concern they let me know it was nothing I could do if she continues to give me a failing grade instead of allowing me drop and retake later to keep my financial aid. I must have cried for a whole week, was hurt and disappointed at the same time. I was a semester away from receiving my degree. All I left Axia with was a student loan .

Desired outcome: I wish they would have given me an option to help keep my financial aid ànd also been able to revive my degree.

University of Phoenix [UOPX] Overcharging for a class

I was going to uop online. Everything was going well until I had to retake a class. I dropped it and retook it again the next semester. However the financial aid office said it was going to give me a partial credit in payment since I had already paid for the first class. They were going to charge me $300. Instead they charged me $3000. What? Classes are not even $3000. I tried to resolve this. I called, emailed. I got locked out. I could not continue my education. I have buried this deep and it makes me mad. I am trying to get my transcripts but the website has an outstanding balance - which I cannot even see.

I just want my transcripts. I want them to correct what they did to me.
I am trying to better myself by getting my msn in nursing.
They are holding me back please help
