promise of payment not received
A representative from Omega Meats called to say that if I signed a letter clearing up complaint lodged with Better Business Bureau, I would receive a check for $149 as settlement to clear up complaint. I signed letter "in good faith" but I have not received the promised check. Would someone please check into this for me.

Not paying there employee's
I went in filled out an application and was hired to drive, they told me I would make $40-$50 a day driving. The next day went to work and worked a full 10 hours. The other person working with me gave me $10 dollars to shut me up about pay, went in to talk to the manager he said when I come to work tomorrow they would pay me. Got to work the next day and they refused to pay me, they had six other employee's beat me to a pulp.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
My boyfriend encountered the same problem.. went and worked a full 11 hrs and was promised pay at the end of the day and to no avail didn't get paid a dime. That company is a complete rip off.

omega meats have fraudulently used my our ebt card number. we have been a customer for the last 7 months and have ordered meat through and independent contractor name johnny. it is a long story and would like some help with this. they have taken $275 worth of food out of my childrens mouth, we was told when we called about this first they said they didnt...

About 30 minutes ago 2 gentlemen from Omega Meats came to the house. The one who came to the door smelled so bad from beer ! The gentlemen who was sitting in the van. opened the door and poured the rest of his beer out in my driveway. What a disgusting smell! I am a stay at home mom with my 4 children and I do not need to drunks coming to my house at 2' o'clock in the afternoon! I called the company and she said she has really no way of telling who they where.

You should have gotten the license plate number and turned them in.
Aggressive Salesman
He asked if i was a meat eater, i said no. He told me it wasnt working for me, and that i should start jogging more often. Not to mention he was selling meat out of his van.

I purchased steaks from Randall Schams (Omega Meats) on June 16, 2010. Randall gave me the same lies that others have already posted. Randall seemed like a nice guy so I trusted him at his word, BIG MISTAKE. Just a few hours after I purchased the steaks I decided to look at them and found that two of my boxes were short one steak each. I called Randall that evening to let him know of the problem, he never returned any of my calls.
I signed on line to see what I could find out about Omega Meats, I was fortunate enough to find all of the comsumer complaints posted. The complaints posted were exactly the stuff that Randall had told me, "these steaks are just like Omaha Steaks", "I was selling to a lady just down the road", "if you are not toally pleased I will come back and retrieve the steaks" on and on... Every word was a lie.
The next morning I contacted Omega Meats in Greensbro and Charlotte, I never got an answear at the Charlotte office but I did speak to a woman in Greensboro. I was promised that customer service would call me right back, they never did.
At this point I knew Omega Meats was just a scam company and notified my bank.
A lady named Kim did eventually speak with me and was of assistance. I told Kim i wanted a refund and she told me to return my steaks to Concord. I wrote Kim and told her I refused to do that, this was a "door to door" sale and I expected them to come and pick up the steaks. I also called the North Carolina Attorney Gererals Office and they were very helpful with lots of information. see below
THE NORTH CRIMINAL CODE STATES THAT IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMPANY TO COME AND PICK UP THE PRODUCT FROM YOU AND THAT YOU HAVE THREE BUSINESS DAYS TO CANCEL YOUR ORDER FOR ANY REASON.
YOU SHOULD REFERENCE 14-401.13 IN THE CRIMINAL CODE. OMEGA MEATS IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ...IF YOU NEED TO CALL THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

To all of the others out there that have been scamed just like me you can beat Omega at there own game.
I did receive a full refund and they did come and pick the meat up, although it was a mightmare dealing with them.
I never did find out where the meat comes from, I would never let my family put anything into there body that came from this company. The boxes say nothing about where the beef is from so you can only guess. The meat is processed in Florida, How many people think of Florida as a meat producer? We have no idea that this meat is even from this country, when something is cheap there is normally a reason. You might want to also reference the internet... the USDA Grade A Stamp on meat means nothing at all. You can find video and stuff confirming this.
I would just say be very careful and Don't belive a word anyone at Omega Meats tells you .

I sold meat for 13 years door to door. All of you are idiots. There really is a sucker born every minute. End of story.
we just had 2 guys come here trying to sell to us, neither one had any type of company badge on, the van was white and was labeled American gold label on it, the one guy was in the yard and he asked if he could come onto the screened in porch and I said no, we went outside and he was kind of begging us claiming he was in need of selling today for his bonus, I said no thank you, the brochure he handed us, is all wrinkled up and old, beware, one never knows who is who or what is what, i put the number on brochure into goggle and it brought me here, so I see name changing is a pattern

the meat sucks. the salesmen suck. the company sucks. they are rude, arrogant, selfish, conceited people who care nothing about the people they serve. they only want to sit on their fat a** and get paid. I have been calling for 6 days now to try and get someone back out here to pick up this disgusting crap and no one answers...they tell me to call back...they hang up...they're rude...or they tell me that they will call me right back. i'm sick of playing their belligerent games. if i don't get my money back...the company will see me in court cause that's my next step. And for those saying that their rating is A+ on BBB...it ain't no more. they now have a BIG FAT F just like they deserve and yes this same complaint has been filed on the BBB website. OMEGA MEATS...YOU SUCK.
well, well so sorry to all of you because i have been a long long time customer who has always been completely SATISFIED my MEAT was terrific.
Like many others before me I just got scammed they said I could make payments to them and the next thing that happened is my check went through the bank. I called the sales man and he won't answer his phone. They got there money and I got crap meat in my freezer. I found that i may still have a chance to retrieve my money but that does not help me right now being short the money. The state of NC has a law that is written and it is 14-401.13 that can protect you if your still within the 3 day rule. So I will go to the BBB and post my complaint and ruin the rating so maybe someone else can find the written word and hopefully not make this mistake.
I bought meat from a door to door salesman from omega meats the cost was 54.49 but when i received my bank statement i noticed that they had charged me twice for the one pkg i had bought. so it cost me 108.98 for eight pieces of chicken and to top it off they were horrible! now I cant find how to contact them for a refund of the double dip that they took from me.
Reported to the NC Attorney General Even and they would not do anything. System is either over loaded or they just do not care!
For all that are complaining about the company should have done so on the BBB website b/c they have an A+ rating there due to all complaints not being reported to them.
Well I can tell you from personal experience EVERYTHING they tell you is a lie. They are trained in all the tricks to get your attention from "I have an order that was cancelled because the customers check bounced and my boss said sell it at a loss to not have to restock", "I have to sell this last case to get my bonus so I am just giving it away", " buy 2 get one free", "we have a shipment coming in tomorrow and must get this sold because we do not have the space in our freezers", "gourmet, free range, hormone free chicken at bulk prices", "I just delivered to your neighbors and had some time so I stopped buy to see if you would like the same deal they got from ordering online", " if any of the food has any problem or you do not like for any reason will refund your money or replace the food", etc etc, etc... I have watched all these techniques being taught BY THEIR CORPORATE TRAINERS! These are not rouge employees/contractors like they would lead you to believe but rather people just following through with what they have been taught in order to survive in this organization. Top to bottom there is NO INTEGRITY but it COMES from the top..
bad quality
Salesmen came to my home in Rocky Mount with an unmarked truck and freezer strapped in back. They said "high quality" meat for fraction of grocery store price. Fast talkers yes they were. The meat had good color so I decided to try it. Worst meat I have ever bought. Grocery store meat beats it by far and the price was not that great. I'm sure they won't be back but if they do I will be ready. I plan to tell them exactly what I think about their meat before they get a chance to get out of the truck! Wasted my money for sure. I usually don't fall for this kind of crap but was hoping it really would be a good deal for feeding my family! Meat is full of grissle and shrinks up to half it's size when it's cooked! The "steak" burgers did not taste has good as a cheap hamburger and were paper thin. They shrunk to barely bun size. Hope I can save someone from making the same mistake I did.

I have eaten the omega meats and honestly I would have to disagree, the hamburger steaks I got were great! I have yet to try the steaks but I will be sire to return and let you know how they were. as far as the above agree comment (sounds like a upset employee to me) U should'nt bash a company just because you got fired. Aint nothin wrong with chicken liver or gizzards, if its edible then why not...
i agree on that. i worked for omega meats in apex nc for about 3 weeks and not only do they screw the customers but the employees aswell. 5 of the 6 people that i worked with did drugs and pills not to mention allmost everyone else. but please dont tell me you ate the chicken because its basicly the blogna of chicken, which is chicken feet, gizzerd, liver, and everything edible on the chicken, shrink wrapped into the shape of a normal sized chicken breast.thats why you can stick your finger all the way through it when it thaws out(not normal).
Refused to Refund
Here is my complaint I made to BBB. Omega Meats is no longer a member of the BBB:
My husband and I purchased meat from you on Friday January 16, 2009. We tried the meat on Sunday January 18, 2009 and the meat did not meet the expectations you had set. I called you on Monday January 19, 2009 and you did not return my phone call. I finally was able to get in contact with you on Thursday January 22, 2009 and you informed me that Customer Service would contact me that day or on Friday January 23, 2009. Customer service never contacted me. I spoke with a person from your office on Friday and was informed that I would be able to receive a full refund as I contacted you within the 3 days. I am looking to you to take care of this situation soon as you are the representative for your company.
On January 29, 2009 Omega Meats' representative, Mike Tosi left me a detailed message (which I have saved) stating he was going to provide me with a refund on February 3, 2009. Omega Meats' representative, Mike Tosi never came to my house to honor the cash refund of $150 nor has he responded to the numerous voicemails my husband and I have left.
On February 24, 2009 I spoke with Omega Meats' customer service and they were not sure if Mike Tosi still worked for them Omega Meats and they felt they were not responsible for their representatives.
My husband and I have attempted to resolve this issue on our own and it was only when we were met with contempt that we decided to request the Better Business Bureau's assistance.

We bought some meat from Omega Meats about 15 years ago and didn't like it. A salesman came buy today said the company had changed. I just wanted to buy one piece, so I could cook it and check it out. He rolled his eyes and said some kind of junk. I came so close to buying some meat, and I did gave him the 3 degree, because I know how salesman's are. He said he didn't have any more meat or chicken, but had fish. I don't like fish, and asked if I could looked in the freezer on his truck to see if he was telling me the truth. He didn't have any more meat or chicken, but a pack of fish, so he did tell the truth on that. I called my hubby at work and he said since we were going to the beach in 6 day, see if he can come back in a month. The salesman got very upset at what I said, and fussed at me for wasting his time! I guess the company never has did changed! The meat box looked very distressed and worn out and melted. I recommend DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Your better off to buy from Walmart, and I don't like Walmart meats! lol. Harris Teeter is expensive, but check the sales, they have really good meats! If you can find a really goof OLD COUNTRY STORE, they have GREAT MEATS TOO!
Do not purchase any meats from this company. They are con artists and duke you for your money. They don't care, meat is not FDA it is disgusting and terrible low quality. You can get better meats with ROAD KILL! The driver/ salesmen are fast talking ### artists We bought the steak box and he told us not to say anything for the price of the seafood box which was hundreds less, the steaks were uneatable, and tough as hell. So we complained to BBB well we got humiliated by the woman who supposedly cares about customers, they do not refund, drag their feet and are rip offs! This is outrageous and unacceptable. Businesses that care about people dont treat them this way, but I wouldnt expect the people that are befitting from ripping off hard working people to care. Beware I wil never allow any of these crooks on our property! Hope they rot in HELL!
I just recently bought food from omega meats an to my astonishment the food was very good an I feel I got a fair price I will continue to do business with them . Maybe not all of them I mean you can tell if they r on drugs or not my represenitive was very respectable an I look forward to doing business with him again . I had one enter my home uninvited and they saw the end of my shotgun where they knew it was a good idea to leave. When I called their main office I could not believe when I told her he entered my home with out being asked to come in... KIM had the nerve to ask me well if I didnt want them to enter my home, do I have a no trespass sign. I could not believe how stupid she was.
Omega meats is not to be trusted! I had some people come to my house that claimed to be with Omega Meats. I did not buy anything from them, but the regret I do have is going to the door. They were rude and asked questions that were none of their business. The man asked questions such as if I were married, what I did, my age, and tried to hit on me the whole time, he went as far as to try to get me number and asked if I wanted a boyfriend. I was disgusted! Not only did I feel uneasy but when I told him I was not interested and that those questions were none of his business, he continued to talk and wouldn't leave immediately. I have heard others say that the food they sale is very poor quality and has even made them sick. I would never buy from them, and I will never go to the door for them again. They were rude and intrusive to me and made me feel threatened and unsafe. Bottom line, DO NOT TRUST THEM!

What I noticed were some good people...and some hard partying as well.
Seems like alot of pain pills are swallowed to get the nerve to go knocking on so many doors each and every day. I just stayed in the truck and let the ex-con, (6 years), do all the talking.
If I saw one of their [censor] trucks roll-up...hell no i'm not answering.
And as far as the quality of the meat goes...well...if the BBB gives them an F rating...how good can the meat be?

i had a guy named dwayne or dawayne from omega meets come to my door about a month ago. he sold me some of the disgusting meet for over 150.00! it made my family very sick and sleepless at night with stomach aches. the next day i called this dwayne back to "buy some more". when he showed i gave him a piece of my mine. my court date is next month. it has been continued twice. (: i believe that is how these situations need to start being handled.
Omega Meats is known to sell their products without a copy of their business license and / or without a valid solicitiors permit in certain cities. Several of their "meat men" have been jailed in my city due to failure to comply with soliciting requirements. They just dont get the hint.
I recently purchased meat from dawayne of omega meats. he kept coming around begging so i finally gave in.he told me to call him if i wasn`t satisfied with something and he would give me something else.the meat is horrible..every last thing i`ve tried is bad.so i call him yesterday to tell him and he has his girlfriend call me back & curse me out. how professional is that. he should be fired.if he comes to your door dont open it...that place is a joke!
I will never buy meat from Omega Meats again their representative A.B. was very dishonest in his position in the company. The cost of the products. He told us he own the company than his story changed a lot. Gave me numbers to where I couldn't get up with him. but he left with a 200.00 check and another one post dated. (400.00 total). It was a mess then threaten to call the police on me because I wouldn't give him another 260.oo check. That was a intimidation tactic to get more money out of me. I told him I acknowledge that I owe the product but it was not the quality he stated and he dint exchange any foods for better as He had stated before . This entire deal was fishy from the beginning. IF OMEGA MEATS COME TO YOUR DOOR DON'T ANSWER.
THEY MAY HAVE SOME HONEST PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM BUT THE REP WE HAD ISN'T
.I WILL PAY FOR THIS PURCHASE BUT WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY FROM THEM. ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT PAY WITH FOOD STAMPS YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO THE GROCERY STORE AND GET GROCERIES.
this deal was bunch of malarky. Please do BBB check on this company before you buy. They have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau.
