On 24/10/2014 we were returning, my wife and me, from a touristic visit at Dubai to Beirut, with the Emirates Airlines (Flight EK 953). The flight was scheduled at 14:55 p.m. We were at Dubai airport at 12:00 p.m. and we finished all the boarding formalities in half an hour. The boarding gate was number 14 and we were around the gate one hour before the boarding time. Emirates airline is known to be a world class airline which promotes high quality standard in fleet, airport and services. However, disappointment hits you when you reach the airport terminal 3 in Dubai. At first glance, it is very luxurious spacious and modern. Once checked in, I tried to access the business lounge with my priority pass. It was not accepted as they have only allocated ''Marhaba' lounge for non business tickets holders. I travelled from London Heathrow to Lahore on 03 June 2014. Upon arrival in Lahore, Pakistan I discovered that my luggage locks were broken, suit cases badly damaged and stuff missing.
I had used travel locks to secure my luggage but obviously, Emirates wasn't able to protect my luggage. As passengers, we trust the airline when we hand over our luggage to them at the check in counter. I have got an upgrade offer through email and I overlooked that it's just for one leg and paid for the offer (AED 1300 ~ $350) !! After getting the confirmation email, I realized it's just for one leg and I called them immediately to cancel my upgrade. They said they cannot cancel it and its a non-refundable offer. Recently I have canceled a flight from Seattle to Amman through Emirates.com due to health reasons.
Since I had extra luggage I didn't mind paying the extra fee of $122 for 1 extra luggage. I have online using my credit card.
When I canceled the flight I have called customer service at Emirates Air and they told me since I did not buy insurance on my ticket I will charged $200 cancellation fee. I thought to lose $200 is better than loosing $1600.

I would like to share my experience with Emirates Airlines.

Normally we go to Pakistan by PIA but we tried Emirates this time for first and last time. I was having a return flight from Peshawar to Dubai at 10:30 am 6 April 2013. Due to huge traffic outside Peshawar Airport and inside it took us 1:30 hour to reach the counter.
