Bio-Reference Laboratories Inc. review: It is certainly a very poor billing practice that needs to be stopped 1

Years ago I had a different insurance company, but I now have a new health insurance company, and have been to 3 different physicians who only know of my current health plan and don't know anything about my former plan. Each of the 3 times that BioReference Laboratories was used for testing, the sent me a bill saying that I was not eligible on my date of service. When I call them up, they always tell me that the MD's office entered the insurance plan that I had years ago, when there is no way whatsoever that any of these 3 doctors ever knew about the old plan. Because BioReference labs has my information in their system, I believe they are running my old insurance plan through their system, which they know will result in a denial, in which case I will receive a bill for the balance. In the cases where people actually pay this bill, BioReference Labs will end up making out alot better than they would have by receiving payment from my insurance company. If this isn't a scam altogether, than at the least, it is certainly a very poor billing practice that needs to be stopped.
