Good Day, My name is Jess Bradley Parsons and I am making this complaint against Forest River RV because I bought(financing) a 33ft Rockwood signature ultralite travel trailer through one of there RV dealers in Langley BC.The dealership that I financed the trailer from is Travel home RV at 20383 Langley Bypass Langley BC V3R5E8.The trailer was brand new when I bought it on February 16, 2008.I am paying for it in monthly payments for the next 60 months which in the end of the 25 year period I will have paid $ 64, 277, 36 which I had no problem with at the time of purchase, but once I brought it home the nightmares began. For a new trailer I could not believe the poor quality that was put in building this trailer. They must have built it on a Friday or a Monday.Anyways From day one I was noticing that the pipes that go to the bathroom sink and bathtub/shower were leaking and needed to be fixed.I notified Travel home RV, and eventually they came and fixed the pipes and do to water damage had to replace the closet and cupboards wood paneling. Then the built in entertainment center stereo was replaced twice and when it screwed up again I myself had somebody fix it outside of travel home and it has worked great ever since. Then I had to replace the kitchen counters they became warped because the faucet leaks and now it sprays water everywhere.I had to have the toilet fixed already due to it separating from the floor. It was repaired but has once again did the same thing. It still is not fixed.Lucky me, I noticed the floor by the bathroom was getting very soft and that concerned me, but it doesn't stop there .Now I notice that the hot water tank was not working right and was leaking. So once again I contacted travel home and told them of the hot water tank problem and like in the past they took there sweet time fixing the tank, "or so I thought", silly me.The first time they thought they fixed it they replaced some valve and when I called to let them no that there repair job was a bust and that it was still leaking the guy had the nerve to say "Oh Don't Worry Its Normal", ya right. So call after call I finally got a response back. There was no hot water in the trailer for a few months and things just seemed to be getting worse. Now the floors from the entrance to the trailer, and the kitchen and of course the bathroom are now very soft and was becoming a concern. The kitchen floor became so bad that I temporary removable floor so that it would not get worse or somebody gets hurt.I have tried to explain that none of this was right and could somebody PLEASE come look at it.I have spent the past three years stressing out over this and it is becoming to much.It is effecting my job and personal life big time.Just recently my girlfriend pointed out to me that the ceiling is now starting to separate from the walls by the bathroom and the above cabinets are also doing the same.I do not no what else to do.I wanted to buy a trailer so that when I come up to retiring in twelve years I could retire and have the trailer to live in and do some traveling in.What is really stressing me is instead of helping my fiance plan our wedding that is supposed to be this July, I am worried about if I am going to be stuck paying close to $70, 000.00 for a trailer that at three years old is rappidly falling apart.I do not feel that I should be pushed aside and treated like I do not even exsist which brings me to the last visit I made to langley travel homes in hopes to resolve this.I was talking to Jamie that works in the service department and while we talked he asked me where I purchased the trailer from and I told him that it came from the very lot that we stood on and he seemed to be confused so I asked why and he told me that travel home RV no longer exsisted that it changed hands back in March Of 2008 one month after I got the trailer.Surprised, shocked, and livid I asked why then was the travel home sign still up and better yet why was I not oncie made aware of the chage of ownership.Thats when he told me that I was more than likely screwed.Apperantly all the policies, waranties, and conditions had changed and that the new owners are not liable.I asked why that is concidering the fact that they are still leading people to believe that travel homes does still exsist because they are still advertising like they are.He told me that the new owner hasn't bothered to change the huge sign out front and he said to me, for example:'Lets say that travel home RV was a Ford dealership and Chevy bought ford out, that does not make chevy liable for any ford cars that were sold before Chevy took over"!My reply to that was "Chevy also would not hide behind fords sign three years after it switched hands and would not lead people to believe that they were still dealing with ford not Chevy. All I wanted to do was invest in a trailer that I could live in and have some of it paid off by the time I am 65.A secure home and the ability to just pick up and go where ever me and my future wife want to travel to.Now all I see for our future is me paying for a trailer that I will not have.Lets face it if the trailer is already falling apart after three yeasr I highly doubt it is going to be good to go for traveling and to live in twelve years from now.All I was wanting was for somebody to acknowledge the fact that this is not a problem that was caused by me(which they did do)and to please fix it before it got worse. Now it is to the point of no return. They were nice enough to tell me that if I pay to have it towed to langley and drop the trailer off that they will eventually take alook see which means that I will have no home till they are done and here is the kicker. They tell me that they will have to cut a hole in the floor to see whats up and if it turns out that it is not there problem I will have to pay to have it fixed out of my own pocket and I also will have to pay for all repairs due to them cutting up the floors.I am already paying out the nose and for the price that I will have paid to them at the end of the 60 months I figure is more than enough.I have looked after this trailer with TLC and heart and soul, but now since my retierment dream has turned into a nightmare I no longer hold hope of that dream becomming reality. So all I am asking now is for them to replace this trailer with a new one and NOT another Rockwood or take the trailer back and let me walk from this nightmare free and clear without it damaging my credit.Thank you so very much for taking the time to read my complaint.I will be wwaiting for your reply. You can call me at [protected] or e-mail me at [protected]@hotmail.ca or by mail to # 103 8266 King Goerge blvd Surrey BC Canada V3W5C2.

My rockwood rv (2010) has leaking windows and a ceiling vent. My floor is very soft in my kitchen, as well as my shower floor. I've already had to replace my awning. The original toilet didn't even last 3 years. The surround sound dvd player is worthless, 3 speakers have stopped working. When I press the volume control it may do anything BUT change the volume...sometimes it turns the unit off, sometimes it ejects my cd, it may pause a cd or mute the unit. I never know what to expect from it. I have 1 window shade that is unraveling. The spark igniter on my kitchen stove stopped working before it was 4 years old. The outside gasket around both slide-outs are falling apart. I hope the furnace, water heater, refrigerator, and A/C unit last a little bit longer. This company has no pride in their work.

After only 3 years of use, my Rockwood HW 296 started to leak. The canvas, though cared for, clean, waxed began to leak. As well, the refrigerator just stopped working. I am second owner and spent 10, 000 on this camper for mine and my families retirement after 24 years of military service. I had been away from family for over years total. This was my big purchase for a trip with my family out west. Guess who did not go out west? My family. I contacted Ray Brimmer, and Jacob carter from Rockwood and they told me it was my problem. Even though it was only 3 years old, the fact that I was not original owner voided warranty. TJ Snuggles who manufactures the canvas for Rockwood also would not do anything. The camper I just sold to buy this gem was 11 years old and did not leak ever, not even in a tropical storm in Destin, Florida, but my Rockwood High Wall 296 will soak through if you throw a cup of water on the canvas. Thanks for the great treatment Rockwood, mint is a pleasure serving money hungry, deceiving and miserable people such as yourselves. Do not buy a Rockwood. Trust me.
