Zumiez Returning Items - RUDE AND THEY TAKE YOUR PII OR YOU CAN'T RETURN ITEMS

5/1/2022 - Zumiez in the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Maryland. Even with a receipt and the credit card to which the sale was charged, I was required to provide my driver's license (with my address, birth date, license #), email, and phone number for entry into their system. The sales woman had no reason other than saying, it's required - even though NOTHING on the receipt indicated I would be required to give all my personal information, including my driver's license, to return an item when I have the receipt and credit card. The receipt only indicates that I must have the receipt. When I asked them how my personal information from my driver's license was protected in their POS, she just laughed and kept going. When I was almost out of the store, and not realizing I was with someone else, they started laughing at me in front of the other customers, after which the person I was with yelled at them to cut it out.

Desired outcome: No more taking personal information, requiring your driver's license, email, and telephone to return items if you have a receipt and the credit card.

Zumiez Terrible manager

I have been a customer of the Hamilton Town Center Zumiez (Noblesville, IN) for many years, enjoy the clothes and often visit the store. In the past several months I have noticed that every time I have visited this specific store the manager (his first name is Joba, last name Jackson I think) has aggressively berated his young teenage employees for some minor issue in full view of very uncomfortable customers. A couple times this resulted in customers (myself included) actually walking out of the store.
The last time I saw this (just this past week) I witnessed said manager yelling at a young girl employee resulting in tears, and then he walked up to the other girl employee and openly mocked the crying girl right in front of her. That was the last straw. I don't think I can stomach visiting this store anymore if this is the type of culture that is fostered. I don't know about the other stores, but the culture in this particular store is sickening. I feel awful for anyone who has to work with someone who is so clearly a bully to impressionable young employees. Please do something about this.

Desired outcome: please fire terrible manager who bullies kids

Zumiez Fire this aggressive employee

I went in to Zumiez with my 70 year old mother and an employee of the store who would NOT release his name came up speaking super loudly so I asked if he could not yell. He immediately became aggressive and and relentless in furthering this conversation with me, refusing to complete a simple return until he confronted me! It's like just do your job dude! He was speaking to me so aggressively I genuinely thought the man was seconds away from a physical altercation. As my mother and I both just pleases for him to finish the transaction he refused until I left the store... which felt unsafe to be honest. I have many friends who work with in Zumiez corporate and have agreed this behavior is not acceptable. As he refused to release his name I took a photo after which he told me was illegal? lol. So after he finally finished the return and we were going to leave he FOLLOWED my mother out of the store to ask me if I "had any beef with him" like what? Was he trying to accomplish? Absolutely abhorrent behavior. Will NEVER go back to this store. I've included a photo since he wouldn't give up his name.

Desired outcome: TERMINATE THIS EMPLOYEE

Zumiez Deceiving sale sign and rude employee

My daughters picked out two $40 sets of pads and we're excited they were on sale as they were spending there own money. The pads and sign were on a top shelf requiring a ladder. They were charged full price and told the sale didn't apply due to fine print no one could ever see. Then the female employee who identified as asst manager rudely repeated, "my bad" and admitted the sign was misleading But refused to help. I paid the full price but feel cheated and mislead by the lack of information at the time of the sale. Deptford mall Zumiez in NJ. Customer service training is in dire need at this location.

Zumiez the service I had is why i'm complaining.

When I walked into the Zumiez store at Washington Square mall I had a hard time finding the shirts I wanted. The employees kept staring at me while I walked around I didn't think about it to much until they stopped me from buying three shirt that I obviously had money to pay for, to ask me about where some orange hoodie or shirt they saw me looking at. I told her I have no idea where that item is I've been walking around the store for about an hour looking for the right shirts I wouldn't know where I put have the other shirts I looked at. She kept accusing me of stealing the shirts. She than said she would gladly call the security and the cops if she couldn't find it. Me and my boyfriend had nothing to do with taking this shirt there were other people in the store as well while we were in there. I left because I was done with the employees I was not about to buy from them if they are about to accuse me for stealing a shirt I obviously didn't want to buy because I put it down somewhere. This employees name was Bobby, Female this happened at the Washington Square Mall in Portland Oregon.

Zumiez advertisement

Me and my wife were walking through the Shoppes at Bel air mall in Mobile AL today, I will have you know the advertising material was absolutely atrocious. We as people can't display anything to do with God but your store has a picture of the devil saying aloha from hell see you there. This is absolutely offensive to me and my family. Beyond this matter I will be filing a lawsuit for my 5 year old having to see this as she attends a Christian private school. Who ever is over the advertisment department may find this funny but it is flat out wrong.

Zumiez skateboard grip tape application

I was at the Zumiez at the Simon mall in rockingham new Hampshire getting my griptape applied. Once the procedure was finished. I saw that there was a big ring of green (the color of the top of my deck) around the griptape. Seeing that the griptape was a sunset color, it was very obvious. I am disappointed with the service I have gotten lately.

Zumiez wrongful/ harmful workplace

I was the store manager at carolina place mall in charlotte nc. For almost 10 months. I was not only wrongfully fired march of 2019. I was never trained for my position (but still able to start the year making my store number 1 in our district and keeping it a solid 2nd or 3rd for the duration of the time), punched in the face over merchandise several times (submitted incident reports that were never handled) and the entire district is a joke (considering the fact that the new dm is an older store manager who placed all of his managers throughout the stores in the district, which was expected after he was promoted). I felt as through I was wrongfully fired considering the fact that I honestly don't understand entirely why I was fired in the first place. I asked multiple times to be retrained and given the equal opportunity to succeed just like any other manager should be. Instead, to resolve the problem of my superiors not having to do so, the district manager and regional manager decided to promote a second assistant from the dms old store (who had only been with the company for about 6 months prior to receiving the store managers position) and letting me go. I was never treated fairly or given the support to go far with the company because of the team I was given. As a company, I loved working for zumiez. I had met the owner and a lot of the vendors which, for them, I stood with the company because I cared about the product and their upcoming. I genuinely am dissatisfied and not happy with the entire nc/sc division and it has refrained me from stepping foot into the stores in nc and sc again. Several times, I had found weapons in my old store and received abuse from clients and the employers did absolutely nothing about it. I called hr immediately after I was let go and left a message but heard no response which made me lose hope in ever getting the justice from which any zumiez employee should be entitled to especially in the district I was in. I have several incident reports from which were not handled at all correctly, which allows me to continue to fight for my justice until I feel as though something is resolved. Zumiez nc/ sc district can care less about their employees especially because the perception I have of the district is based off lies, favoritism and racism. If anyone cares at all to know what I was fired for, it was because customers stole constantly (due to lack of cameras in stores), I would use our security as advised and customers called me a "racist white [censored]" for it. I have seen racist zumiez employees in action. A shoplifter can be anyone of any race. I am a hispanic female with fair skin, green eyes and curly hair that doesn't make me racist or not racist. It makes me human. The company fired me so they wouldn't have to deal with the "negative comments" about racism because the company themselves thought I was caucasian. It wasn't until I addressed the regional manager about the situation and told him I was not white (after my superiors assuming I was and saying that "they" get customers like that all the time because of the industry we are in). I felt as though that, that was inaccurate so I had asked them to help me several times because I was tired, myself, of racial profiling from both parties (the customers and the company). Instead of support I was neglected and fired because they didn't care for what's right, just for what kept zumiez under the radar from those who are actually getting away with being racist. I have a lot more to say but I will leave that for the press. I have plenty of evidence, screen shots, pictures of accurate police reports and incident reports along with witnesses based on the fact that the work environment I was in was unhealthy, unsafe and unbearable because I was living in fear everyday at work and no one from zumiez inc. Was willing to help. I hope this helps someone face their fears and not stay quiet like I had been for month.

Zumiez terrible customer service

i was accused of stealing a back pack because i had it in my hands when i went to a dressing room to try on clothes. i was told not to take it in so i gave it to the guy, and then came out and was asked if i was trying to steal the bag. i said no and he kept accusing me. it was on april 25, 2019. He had blonde hair and it was later in the day. He was very rude. Not good customer service at all.

Zumiez customer service

I currently went to Zumiez at Town East Mall in Mesquite, Texas. I was searching for a shirt while I over heard the cashier and her MANAGER talking about me. As an adult that is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. Personal problems or opinions should not be applied at work. Not only were they rude but they did not even come and help me or offered to help. When I decided to ignore the fact that they were being rude I went to go look for them so I could get help but they were gone and out of sight. I am NEVER going back there and I will make sure to let my acquaintances know their customer service is TERRIBLE and their manager doesn't even act like the mature adult he should be.

Zumiez Clothing

I have ordered a skirt and shorts first I was never told that I had to pau 40$ duty I have always ordered from the us and never had this problem my order is 82$ + 19$ shipping + 40 duties. Around 150$ for a skirt and shorts I told a rep I didnt want my order since I feel im beeing ripped off he said if you dont take it no refunds what a service! And now I received my order and the shorts are ripped! Unbelievable I am extremtly frusttrated I never had an experience as bad as this one. I feel lie too and treated like a clown.

Zumiez one of your employees by name of krystal lombardo.

I was denied service and escorted out of store because she said I was concealing a hat under a t-shirt that I wanted to try on and purchase I handed her both iteams before I went into the dressing room and she said I could not take the hat in with me which was fine I only wanted to see it on in the mirror. After I came out I asked her where the hat was and she said rite here and showed it to me then told me to get the [censored] out of her store that she didn't want a thief in there. I asked why what are you saying? I want to buy both iteams rite now, I pulled out more than enough money for them and she told me that security is on the way to escort me out. I asked again could I please buy them before I leave and she again said to me to get the hell out. I was very upset and embarrassed by her actions because I have done a lot of business in that store and and she knows me from past business I gave her no reason to think I was stealing what so ever and she cursed at me 3 times in front of other customers and was way out of line. I would really like to see something get done about this matter because I spend a lot of money with your store and when I go back in there I'd really like to not see her there if I do then an apology would be great and maybe even the shirt and hat for free since I was embarrassed and denied service for no reason and after showing her over $3000 from my pocket the last thing I am is a thief. Please handle this matter ASAP. Her name is Krystal Lombardo. She works at the 5th avenue mall in anchorage Alaska. Thank you very much.

Zumiez extremely disappointed

That was a very disappointing experience. I ordered 8 items 400 dollars in total. Several days later they canceled half of my order and shipped only 3 out of 8 items. No one informed me. I found it out when I was checking the order status on the website. Willing to know all of the details I called them and asked why they did it. They answered that those 5 items were just out of stock and they sent what they had just to make me wait. Ok, how about a refund? You know, I honestly think if I hadn't noticed this thing, they would have never refunded...

Zumiez horrible service!!!

Today after work l decided to go to Victoria Gardens Mall in Rancho Cucamonga because l wanted to exchange a couple of stuff that didn't fit me. I did a little bit of shopping. I noticed my son's favorite store Zumies where I have spend a lot of money on my son. I walked inside the store called my son to asked him about the shirts he wanted. A young man working at the store asked if I need it helped. I showed him a shirt my son sent me that he liked. He was able to helped. I had around 4 to 5 shirts on my hands when he asked do u want me to put the shirts in the front o said yes please. Than a young lady working there asked me wow you have a couple of shirts in the front and u are buying more how old is your son? I said almost 15. Is it his birthday that u are buying clothes? I said no he is my only child. She replied you must be a good Mom. She kept looking at me while l was looking at the sizes. At the moment l wanted to walked out because l felt that she thought l was trying to steal shirts since I had two bags on my hands since I was shopping before l went in their store.
But l said no if I walked out they will say l was there to steal. So l went ahead and paid for the shirts. I didn't pay with a credit card I paid with my debit to prove a point. My total went over $200. I asked the girl who was looking at me while shopping before leaving
What is your name she said Jordan. I asked her did you think l couldn't afford the clothes for my son? Did you think l was going to steal the clothes? Oh no she said. Her replied was so fake. Tomorrow l'm returning my son's shirts I will not spend one more dime on this store ever who only judge you. I haven't never experienced something like this. And the only reason I went ahead and bought the shirts was to show those people l had money maybe they thought my card was going to be rejected. I have spent so much money in this store after today l am done returning the shirts. They made me feel so bad there were other people shopping but they Target me. Sad very sad.

Zumiez sweatshirt "primitive" black, sleeves grey mens small sweatshirt

We purchased a grey hoodie Primative sweatshirt for my son for his 8th grade graduation present. Was the only gift he asked for. He wore the sweatshirt ONCE and when walking home from a friends house, he tied the sweatshirt around his waist. When he got home, the inside of the hoods lining that was red, bled through onto his clothes AND ruined the brand new sweatshirt. This sweatshirt was worn for 2 hours! the red piping inside the hood bled through from the heat. We didn't wash or dry it, just wore it. We buy clothes from Zumies ALL the time. I have two skaters that love your clothes. Both he and I are very disappointed in this product. See attached photo's.

It was my first time shopping at zumiez in the kitsap mall. As I walk in I was trying to find a adidas hoodie that my daughter wants for christmas. No acknowledge by a salesperson. I had to ask a clerk if she worked there because, she just looked at me and continued folding the clothes. No hi or anything. I ask her a question and said she was going to see if they had on line which it was out of stock, but suggest something else that was in the store. So I said okay thank u. When I was done she had put my item on the counter and she said he (the cashier will be right with me. So when he was done with the customer he was ringing up, it was my turn. I didn't know where the lines was. I just waited where the girl told me. Another customer showed up so I said " I believe I was waiting", the guy cashier said " well the lines starts here". So I said well the clerk told me to wait here. He was so rude as he rung my item, had an attitude as he told me my total, he threw my change in my hand that my coins fell and he didn't even care to say thank you. I am going to return the item that I bought and I will tell all the people that I know not to shop there. No need the attitude especially when working in retail.

Zumiez Don't order

Don't order anything from online from www.zumiez.com because they are terrible, highly unprofessional and I guarantee you'll regret that. I have purchased a pair of shoes and when I received them and tried them on I realized shoes were too big. So I contacted customer service and after that sent my shoes back hoping to get a replacement. Several weeks later I received another pair and it was the same huge size! These people gave me nothing but headache and I will never buy anything from them again!

Zumiez Highly unprofessional

I have ordered two pairs of shoes from www.zumiez.com. One pair was for me and another one was for my boyfriend. When I finally received my order I was very disappointed because they sent me two pairs of men's shoes. I contacted customer service and explained what happened and they suggested me to keep the shoes. I said that I want to get my pair but they refused to replace. Then I said that we are sending one pair back and asked for a partial refund but received no as an answer.
Very poor customer service, they are highly unprofessional and customer unfriendly.

Zumiez Disappointing experience

I have ordered a pair of shoes from Zumiez store and when I received them I was happy because the quality seemed fine. I wore them only for about a day and they stared to fell apart. Then I checked them carefully again and it appeared that the workmanship was terrible and material was rubbish. Contacted Zumiez support and asked if there was a way to return the shoes. They said that I can send them back at my own expense, but the most possible that I will not get a refund, since I already used the shoes. I was super disappointed.

Zumiez Online purchase of a reflex multi skate tool

Ordered 3 Reflex Multi Skate Tools on 4/9/2016. Received notice on 4/10/2016 That one of my items been shipped. On 4/11/2016 I receive this email
"Thank you for your order with Zumiez.com! In the process of fulfilling your order, we have discovered we are out of stock on one or more of the items. The item(s) below have been canceled from your order:

• 2.00 x Reflex Utili-Tool Skateboard Tool

If there were additional items on your order you should receive them very soon. "
On 4/15/2016 I contact Zumiez customer support via a phone call about not receiving my refund of $32.41 for the 2 items as well as why my other has not been shipped. Response was to reissue of refund and send item out in next day shipping. That the reason for cancel of other 2 items was they were out of stock of grey that all they had was pink. I told NO PINK.
On 4/22/2016 I had to contact Zumiez customer support again. That I still did not receive my $32.41 refund and the Reflex Ital-Tool Skateboard Tool
that was sent was not grey as ordered but PINK. I told them I will keep the PINK one but I was unhappy, also I have not received refund. They said that it has not been cleared by paypal. So I went to my paypal account and there was a refund from Zumiez for only $16.20 not the full amount. I had to open a dispute with paypal. That I did not receive a refund for 2 of the 3 items ordered. That I only received 1 item, refunded for a second, but have not received any refund for the third item. I explained this clearly to customer support. That Zumiez did not refund me the correct amount. That they still owe me $16.21. But paypal screwed it up again. And said.

"Our investigation into your claim is complete. As stated in our User
Agreement, the claims process only applies to the shipment of goods. It
does not apply to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods
received. Therefore, we are unable to reverse this transaction or issue a
refund."

They never shipped the item, I want a refund. Well I never received a refund as of yet for the Item I did not RECEIVE from ZUMIEZ for $16.21 and do not expect it. Do not buy anything on line from ZUMIEZ and Dealing with both Paypal and Zumiez is a joke. Zumiez just ripped me off for $16.21 and paypal let them do it because they have no clue what they are doing.

Just so you know I contacted Zumiez once again on 4/22 about the remaining $16.21 Refund via phone and they said they refund it again, and sent this email to me "Good morning, sir!
I apologize again for everything that you've had to go through in regards to this order. That isn't how we intend to do business and that certainly isn't how we treat our customers. I am, however, happy to report that we applied the other half of your discount successfully. You will see that reflect on your statement in 3-5 business days. Again, I am so sorry for any frustration that this process may have caused you. I hope that I was able to help but please let me know if there is anything else that you need. I'll do my best to assist!
