Zone Fitness Not getting what I'm paying for

I am writing this email with a sore heart and a big hole through my wallet, my pocket also.

I am a member of zone fitness, I have not been given the service that I am paying for.  The problem is, I work from 07:30 to 16:00, by the time I go to the gym

Which will be around  about 17:45, there will be a long line for people to enter the gym,   waiting for the ones inside to come out.

The problem is the is no way that people are being monitored on how long they are inside the gym so that all of us can be accommodated. The is gym members who

Come to the gym and by 5 pm they are still there, those whole hours they have spent there some of us could have entered inside.  As a gym member you for more than 30min

Just to go inside.

My gym time is from 5 to 6, what the point of me going inside if I have to spent because I still need to go home.

My suggestion please can management implement a new strategy to monitor people who are inside not to spend more than an hour, so that people like me can also have a chance in the gym.

Another issue why can't management open other classes, instead off the morning and the 5 o clock class, we need at least a 3 to 4, 4 to 5 and 6 to 7, so that we are also accommodated.

Keep in mind while I don't get the chance to gym the premiums are being deducted from my bank.  We all understand it tough times, Covid is still a problem but I am  paying for the gym that I cannot access.

Paying or the service that I cannot get is not a joke. Another problem your fitness instructors cannot refuse to conduct a class because we are paying for the service for them to tell us as gym members they cant

Carry on with or give us lame excuses it not on (this happened T Phillipi zonefitness on the 26.01.2021)  even if there 5 members who came for the class they have no right to refuse to conduct the lass because there Is less people.

My whole experience with zone is not  pleasant and I feel zone staff members need to keep in mind we are paying customer, management also needs with new ways to accommodate us.

Another suggestion maybe open a communication where members can say that please freeze my membership for the month and no deductions must go through, or a month to month contract.

I am looking forward to get a response from the management of zone.

Zone Fitness Service

Zone tried to debit a 50% in july when legally the gyms were not open I then recalled that payment, the gym then only opened the 24th of august where as with the agreement we pay at the end of the month to cover the months use of the gym but it only opened the end of the month, I then noticed they were not debuting my account at all and the bank confirmed that they have not cancelled the direct debit I called in and 1 girl told me my account has been sent to debt collectors and I need to pay the full amount I then called a week later to discuss my bill and the new girl I spoke to said the previous one lied to me and I still have a few months to pay the account was not sent to debt collectors and gave a totally different amount to pay this is zone fitness in Parow I'm disgusted by the service and up till today I have not had a proper conversation with any accountant to sort out this amount owing, seems like the disaster management act does not apply to zone but every other company

Zone Fitness Not very professional

Good morning. On the 18.01.2021... Your manageress. Christine. At Parowcentre kicked out my son while he was waiting on us out of reception.
She said hey can't look after children in the reception because he might get stolen and put him out where he could get stolen.
Please look into the matter cause now the other day a small girl was in the same space and she was allowed.

Zone Fitness Not adhering to covid-19 safety guidelines

To whom this may concern:

It is unfortunate for me to write this letter as I have been a member of Zone Fitness Brighton on and off for almost 4 years with almost no complaints.

I have tried a few months ago to find out the protocols for me to cancel my gym membership because I was feeling unsafe at the gym, and decided to not follow through because Zone Fitness were following safety guidelines that put me a little more at ease. I felt like it was safe enough to continue.

Today, 14/12/2020. I walked in the gym and found members not wearing any masks in the cardio section, glanced over at the weight section and also saw a few members not following the safety guidelines. This was very disturbing to witness as my father spoke to the HOD for Western Cape Health Department, Dr Keith Cloete, personally- as he explained that most Covid-19 cases were caused by it being mostly airborne and that the Western Cape area still require EVERYONE to wear masks in a closed space.

I tried to explain to the manager on duty that it is not proper guidelines to deal safely with this pandemic with a second wave that's raging worse then the first one, and she responded by saying some "article in the Gazette" said you need to wear a mask if you are training vigorously, which is true and is exactly what I saw when a member was in the cardio section sweating without a mask on.

I asked her in my upset state to help me cancel my gym contract because this is clearly a situation that contradicts ALL HEALTH GUIDELINES and her knowledge about Covid-19 were scary ignorant, but she responded by making it clear that I will need to pay penalty fees- which I in turn responded that this gym is compromising my health and that I feel that I don't have to pay ANY cancelation fees. She was getting impatient and clearly not paying attention to anything I was saying and I responded with "this is [censored]".. As I went to get my bags to leave gym, I saw her gathering with other staff members discussing me. That was very unprofessional. She did not even have the decency to wait till I left. I don't know her name but I can describe her as a short Indian/Coloured with black hair that's a bit overweight.

As I got home I phoned Dr. Keith Cloete personally, with him advising me to first write this letter, and if unsuccessful, I should contact him again so that he can send someone from the health department to personally come and inspect Zone Fitness Kraaifontein because the incident I described was a clear violation of the Covid-19 safety guidelines. This is a threat that I am willing to follow through on because I pay a contract and I have older people who lives with me that has comorbidities.

I hope someone will answer this letter with more professionalism then what I received at the gym today, because I really prefer Zone Fitness Kraaifontein because its the closest gym to me.

Please get back to me as soon as possible. Its December month and I want to get fit and healthier without my gym trying to sabotage my health.

Thank you

Zone Fitness Cancellation of a membership

I phoned zone fitness in Middestad Pretoria to cancel my membership because I have relocated from Cape Town to Pretoria and where I stay there are no centers near by. I have to travel to town to access the gym which does not cater my needs anymore and my safety is compromised because I use public transport.

I was told to phone the center that I initially joined at which is Zonefitness in St George's mall. I did phone them and I was told to complete the form on their website.

After some time I received an email stating that my membership will be cancelled after the contract expire in August 2021. I replied that I want cancellation with immediate effect due to reason stated above and to date I have not received any communication.

There is no email on their website to escalate the matter. Phone calls are a waste of time because they refer you from one center to another.

Please assist. COVID-19 happened to all of us and financial situations have changed hence my move from Cape Town to Pretoria. Zonefitness must stop being self centered and tell us about the contract which they do not train their staff to explain to their customers when they stop us on the road and convince us to join their gym.

Zone Fitness Gym contract cancelation

I wanted to end my contract during lockdown because they wanted to take 50% whilst we weren't aloud to use the gyms at all. Then when the gyms opened I wasn't aloud to use the equipment or private room but still had to pay the full amount every month. I had to stand in a long line because only 50 people was aloud in the gym. I still had to pay the full amount when I wasn't getting the service I agreed to in the contract. I asked in person at the gym to cancel my contract but they said I must phone head office. I filed my complaints via email but nothing. I told head office I want to cancel but they ignored me. Then this Tuesday 2nd december I got a message saying my debit order failed to zone fitness. I phoned them wanting to clear it up immediately and pay the same day but then they said I must pay a penalty on top of the normal fee which I wasn't late with payment and I asked for banking details and they still haven't given it to me. I then phoned to cancel my contract. They said the can only help me Monday which is ridiculous. Finally another of their debtors named Elizabeth phoned me yesterday morning saying I need to pay R2025 to end my contract and that she will put it on email right away with banking details. I am still waiting for that email of the amount she said I have to pay and the banking details to end my contract permanently with Zone Fitness gym. Please help me. I have been paying every month never late and I want to end the contract once and for all because I am not getting what I agreed upon in the contract I signed.

zone fitness has a pathetic service ever, i opted to use zone fitness as its a bigger gym than my workplace, i was surprised as well that they will be sending 50% of debit orders while we not using their facilities, went to the zone fitness where i used to train before lockdown and the manager couldn't assist to my satisfaction sent them email of complaint they only gave me a reference number till date they have not yet responded to me, i asked my fellow colleagues that i have recruited to join zone fitness if they did receive an sms that they are owin to my suprise we all owing the same amount and to hell with them, we decided to approach our own lawyers and ombudsman as they have no right to bill us while we were not using the facilities

Zone Fitness Unethical behaviour - harassment

Good day,
I made my final payment of R758 on Saturday, the 14/11/2020 as requested by Sue Duimpies with email address: [protected]@zonefitness.co.za. However, I am suddenly getting SMS messages and phone calls from Norman Bisset Attorneys. But Sue from ZoneFitness indicated in an email that these messages and phone calls would stop but this is not happening. Furthermore, Sue from Zonefitness indicated that I must refer any calls, back to Zonefitness. This however has not prevented the harassment calls and SMS from stopping. ZoneFitness must sort this out. Please Assist.

Zone Fitness Watergate - bookings

Good day

I am not happy with the booking system for the fitness classes.

Firstly your need to book 24 hours in advance, and when you trying making a booking the classes is always booked out.

I make my way to the gym every night just to ensure for space, and always find that the classes is not fully booked.

How do they regulate, do they keep track of people that book and never pitch.

Why don't they alternate classes that is schedule twice in one week and swop times around, you never get to go to a class of your choice due to the time not suitable for all.

Same people book classes everyday and others never get the opportunity to join in.

Complaint was lodge with Covid 19 Manager but seems to me he also don't have control over the situation.

If am strongly considering to cancel my 2 contracts, I'm totally livid and tired of complaining and fighting just to do fitness,

Virgin active can over me something better and there measures are all put in place.

Zone Fitness Rude calls

My name is Yaaseen Moose I joined zone fitness in this year due to change of ownership, due covid 19 I was unable to go to the gym but they still deducted my money but I was okay with that, I haven't used the gym since covid started then I got calls from a lady named Sacha from zone fitness she is the most heartless woman I have ever met, I told her due to covid I wasn't able to pay and would like to close my account, she without any sympathy told me I had to pay my arrears amount of R682 and a cancelation fee of R960 are you serious? Not even a I'm sorry let me see what I can do for you, and on top of that she wants me to pay it in one lump sum, no mercy no acknowledgement whatsoever I'm completely disappointed with how she dealt with the issue, she didn't care what my situation is she just said I need to pay or it will be handed over to the attorneys, how cruel can you be Sacha? Do you not have a family? Do you not have feelings? I will not be joining zone fitness any longer, and will never join them again, a disgusting company full of heartless people. If someone can call me to help me out that will be really helpful as I'm taking care of my elderly mother please anyone who can ease my burden will be highly appreciated.

Zone Fitness Account cancelled yet still being charged

I requested for cancellation of gym membership for my son early this year. It was a 24months contract. The account was up to date and not in arears when the request for cancellation was done. I had to wait 1 month notice period. Still to my surprise monthly debit orders were running from my bank account. Thereafter, I went in person to the gym with my son and who filled in a cancellation form and signed it as we were told that it was required that we sign this cancellation form. We were assured that the cancellation would be effective immediately. It has been 9 months since then and to my surprise again I received an SMS stating that my account has been handed over to Zonefitness lawyers due to an outstanding amount for October 2020. My son received another SMS indicating an additional amount outstanding.

I called Zonefitness to query this because I cancelled the account long ago. I was told that their records do not show that I requested for cancellation of the account. I then spoke to the Sharon, the branch manager at the Pretoria CBD branch. She also said that their records do not show that the account was cancelled and she wanted more information about email confirmation which I do not have as I did not receive an email to that effect. My son called then called them and spoke to the Sharon the manager again who now gave a contradictory version of accounts. She now said that their records show that the cancellation was going to be effected in March 2020 but due to an outstanding amount of R248.00 it was declined. According to me there is no outstanding amount as they used to debit my account monthly and it was up to date when I requested that they cancel the account.

Firstly, the contract had long lapsed. Secondly, I went in person on 3 occassions to request that the account be terminated as it had lapsed. I did not want to use to renew the contract. Thirdly, I filled in a cancellation form which the staff at the reception of Zonefitness provided me with. Fourthly, my son had to sign the cancellation form.

I reiterate that I do not owe Zonefitness any money and the account was not in arrears when I cancelled it. I would appreciate your intervention in resolving this matter. I need confirmation from Zonefitness that the account was cancelled and that I am not liable for any outstanding fees whatsoever.

Thank you.

Zone Fitness Extension of contract without permission / agreement

Hi

My contract is coming to end September 2020. Upon enquiring to cancel the contract, (28.08.20 by my partner) he was informed that contracts have been extended to December 2020. I need to come to the branch in person as my account is debited which I did and yet there was no admin staff to assist me.
I called the branch on 01st and 02nd September 2020 and my calls was bounced around and no manager was available to take my calls

I also do not want to go on a month to month contract either. Due to covid pandemic I am unemployed

Zone Fitness Demands for money an account that was previously settled.

Recently I (Ierafaan Samuels) received a phone call from zone fitness. They claim I owe them money. I had a problem with them 2years ago when my company was liquidated but I still paid them. I went to their office in promenade mall Mitchell's plain and they assured me if I settle the balance the account would be closed which I did. I even asked them for a reference number as proof that the balance was settled but they said it wasn't necessary it will be closed automatically. Now they phone me everyday demanding that I must pay. Why should I pay them when I settled my balance in full? This is unfair and unjust. I would like to have this matter resolved and my name cleared. Contact number [protected]
