Wyndham Vacation Ownership awful customer service

We arrived at Wyndham Riverwalk in Jacksonville for a convention, since the convention was at the hotel, we booked a rate for it for 3 nights, Thursday-Saturday night and we'd leave Sunday afternoon.

Upon arrival we found out there was a $10 charge to park, PER DAY, with no where around to park free.

Our room was small, lights were dim and only got brighter after leaving them on for hours.

THe bathroom was so small we could barely turn around.

After putting my clothes away I found the TV didn't work, so they had to send someone up at 1am. Then, the "breakfast hanger" doortag was filled out by a previous guest!

We went downstairs to the Current's Lounge to eat and they brought my fiance's food but not mine. This happened TWO days in a row. Their food was also outrageously priced. $13 for breakfast?! We consistantly spent $75 to $100 per day on two meals in that hotel and they weren't even decently sized portions! $6 for a slice of cake!

When we did order room service they added a $2 delivery PLUS 20%. Then they left our dishes in the hall ALL NIGHT. We had to call room service to get them to come pick them up!

The following morning I found ants in the bathroom after my shower, I assumed maybe they had come in because of the water, so I cleaned the couple I saw up and let it be since I saw no more.

The next morning, I woke up, took a shower and got bit by 5 ants in the shower. After getting out, I sat in bed to watch tv for a few and found about 20 in the bed and on my clothes. Further inspection found that there were about 50 dead and about 10 live ants on the AC unit.

I talked to the front desk, who sent someone up to spray and offered to move us to another room, we moved to the 5th floor, but we faced the parking lot and the road and monorail, so I was awake all night listening to that nonsense.

They took off ONE night rate for the trouble, but was informed that's all she could do for my days of torture in that *** hole.

Then, today, as we're leaving we go to put our stuff in the truck after 4 days of not being in it and find someone put flyers on the windshield and since it had rained they were stuck and left paper all over the windshield that we will have to have professionally scraped off. The hotel stated it wasn't their problem, yet we paid them $40 total to park our truck in THEIR private lot.

It was a JOKE. We were offered to talk to GM and given his number, but we can't call them until tomorrow.

I am EXTREMELY upset regarding the issues and them not being properly cared for.

They refused to do anything other than comp that one night, yet after sales and city occupancy tax and parking, we ended up paying $300 for two nights!

We spent last Saturday night at a Super 8 Hotel in Clinton, Ia. We had been to the Illinois High School Rodeo 13 miles away in Morrison, Il. No Super 8's there so I got on internet the day before and found this one. Upon checking in we were told the internet rules are different than their rules. (6 hr. cancel without a fine v/s their 4 hr cancel time. The gal was very upset because they never tell them what is going on. She had been there a year and was very frustrated. We went to the room assigned to us to find the room next door (108) had been bashed in with 2 big holes for lock and key. The room was a horrible mess. Almost creepy...Ours was ok. But no frig. I have insulin that has to be cold, so she brought in one for us.(The online ad stated "all rooms have refrigerators")
We got back from rodeo at 10 p.m. to find the air conditioner was on - we had set it for 70 but it was 60 in that room-no heat and it was 39 outside. The gal came to our room and opened up the door to the next room (adjoining) and said we could use the heat from that room to keep warm. She really tried to do the best she could. In the morning, a different gal refused to make de-calf coffee. I think the managers should be warned they are not going to be a part of the Wyndham Hotels if they can't meet standards. We have been in some pretty nice Wyndham Hotels, but this one in Clinton, Iowa and one in St. Petersburg, Fl., are about the worst I've seen.

After reading your trust FTC page, I don't want to leave you with any of my information.

You will usually find that hotels will only comp one night. Not in all cases but most of the time. Because why not check out if the conditions are that terrible?

Wyndham Vacation Ownership scam

I attended a timeshare presentation because we were luered in by promises that we would receive two vacation getaways with a free dinner with each, also they advised that the booking for these was easy, that all we had to do is make a call and then forward the certificate. Once we received the certificate the truth was revealed, there is no phone reservation and in fact you really may not even get to choose the dates! I am attaching the certificate so you can see what a scam it is! I bet very very few people even try to use it...

Now, about the presentation, it took twice what they advertised, we were there 4 hrs. After the initial presentation a guy came to greet us and said he was going to check us out and do a survey and then give us our gifts, well... he spent an other hr trying to sell us an other package...

They will not tell you the truth... these are very good sales people! Be careful listening to them... they do twist the truth!

Wyndham Vacation Ownership time share

Time share,
Just who is dumb enough to be scammed by anyone selling time share? I was!
I am nearly 50 with an medical degree who got taken in by Wyndham Timeshare. I even had a second person in the holiday industry give me a second opinion but as normal I was lied to and cheated. The 3 weeks holiday I was offered turned out to be 2 days a year. Do not ever trust this company. If you look there are pages andpages of complaints against this company on the internet

My husband and I too bought into the Wyndham scam. We had planned a dream anniversary gift to ourselves with a trip to Ireland and France to do some geneology. We had some money save up and would have the rest by the time we were ready to go. When we attended the Wyndham presentation, we were reassured over and over and over again that we had enough points to do the trip including airfare. There is no way under the sun we would have purchased a timeshare without that assurrance. Well, we not only could not do the trip using our timeshare points, but have had to cancel a trip we have been waiting a lifetime to take, thanks to the lying, deceiving theives at Wyndham. Our savings have gone and we can no longer take our trip. When we contacted the corporate office, we were told that a contract is a contract and that we were obligated to pay up. even though they (Wyndham) did not keep their part of the contract. We have not been able to use any points at all for any purpose. They always came up with an excuse. We have stopped making payments; know that it will mess up our credit rating but that's ok. We're not planning on any major purchases in the near future. If anyone knows of a class action suite against Wyndham, we would sure like to know and join in. I think these people should be put out of business.

OMG, Tahiti Village in Vegas just ruined our credit . Yep, 12, 000.$ on each of our Bureau reports. We cancelled the contract within the alotted time and got SCREWED. We feel so stupid, but it was our wedding present to ourselves. We knew better, but why?

Wyndham Vacation Ownership scam

GetUp & Go 2 night vouchers are a scam. My certificates were for 25 destinations, St. Thomas being the most desirable. 7 of the destinations in CA and 2 nearby in Tahoe and Reno for easy weekend getaways for us CA residents.

When I called to make a reservation for St. Thomas, I was told it's no longer available and HA was the substitute. Given that I had recently returned from HA and there are thousands of resorts there, it is not a good substitute. Later I called again to make a reservation in Sonoma, CA, and they told me that they no longer service the entire state of CA and have reduced their destinations to about 5 places, all undesirable to a persona in CA except maybe HA. The rest are places like Las Vegas or on the other side of the U.S. Wyndham does BAD BUSINESS and should not be patronized!

Wyndham Vacation Ownership cheap vacation in exchange for going to presention

DO NOT fall for the "go to a 90 minute timeshare presentation and get a discounted vacation". My daughters and I were at a home and garden show where the Wyndam Vacation Resorts (WVR) had a booth . The lady promised a 2night hotel stay and sea world tickets, plus throw in 2 dinner tickets for $150 and all I have to do is attend a 90 minute presentation. I told her ok, were weren't interested in a timeshare but would go for the deal (ha). We had nothing but hassles in booking a room, would call for dates and call back 2 days later and dates were gone or the could not view that time block anymore. Finally getting a day by the corporate office requesting one due to my frustration. Before leaving for trip and to verify only "90 minutes right" and they were "flexible" with times (joke). Get to the check in point and to and oh they only timea available were when we were departing for our trip. The rude girl at the counter assured me this was flexible, I could attend or be charged $153 ( I already paid $150) so I didnt want to lose $300, so we took the time. Picked up tickets to Sea World SanAntonio and confirmed 90min presention. The next day get there and get a JERK salesperson (that I think had just smoke crack, he could stay awake- this was 10am) We were up front said we just came for vacation deal (ha) and were not intrested and told him the hassles we had. He told us he would give us the "short" version(ha) it took 30minutes to fill out form with him repeating questions over and over. He didnt like my response & would re-ask. (confirming by suspion he smoked crack he didnt seem to remember that I answered him) I getting frusted asked him to go to next question as he promised short version. He continued to stall by repeating stuff. Now I am raising my voice and pointing my finger in his face. Finally to a 10 min video and supposedly to a 10 min tour and then out of there(ha). The saleman almonst tells you this is free resport offer, oh yea you still have to pay airfare/gas by vehicle and food, etc. They make is seem like the money you pay for timeshare pays for everything. After video he continue to tourcher us by more questions. By this time smoke is coming out of my ears. I asked him about the tour he promised so we could go as my child was not feeling good. Again stalling by arguing back at me and playing dumb. I asked for Manager and didnt get one. one hour later, I told him he had 30 more minutes then our duty of the 90min was filled. Well if I didnt cooperate then it would take 120min. At this time I stood up and and told him he was a liar and was leaving and didn't care if I had to pay the whole thing out of pocket. The manger finally comes over after me making a scene for about 30mins. ask about problem told him details. the guy was not moving forward thru presentation, keeps stalling on questions, making me frustrated. He agress to let us go and give voucher to hotel. This could have been more pleseant if the salesman would have just moved on. Moral of story. Pay for trip yourself. The hassel and pressure sales are not worth the stress or few dollar savings and being tied down to the commitment of the presentation.

Same experience but the salesperson was actually sober and pleasant, however many lies were slipped in, the voucher is not worth the paper it's printed on.

Get this, they were trying to sell us a $33, 000 plus package with $1000 yearly maintenance fees plus other exchange RCI fees of $27-75 a night depending what size unit you want.

Its all a scam, do not fall for it, I could have purchased a year of timeshare time and I tell you, it is not a good value. They tried to tell me that over 15 years I would spend 20, 000 but the fact is that their maintenance fees over 15 years would be at least $15, 000, this does not account for the many hidden fees.

The selection of Windham locations is not very good, if you don't stay at one of their resorts there are many other hidden fees to pay.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership slimy business tactics

My husband and I purchased Wyndham timeshare. They use a point system and we purchased several times, brining us to a "VIP Gold" status. On our last purchase CONTRACT, we were given 233, 000 bonus points and temporary Platinum status. We waited and waited for the bonus points to be added to our account. Finally I called Wyndham and was told they could not honor the 233, 000 bonus points because we did not put enough cash down at time of purchase. According to their Owner Relations person (and I use that term loosely) they should never have offered it to us. Several Wyndham people later and several managers later, we were told "sorry, we will not honor your legally binding contract. We will be happy to offer you something else or cancel the contract entirely and refund any money you paid in thus far". They broke the law without so much as a blink of an eye by breaking a contract. Their attitude was that they had the money to pay to cover themselves legally and it would bankrupt me to pursue it so just eat it and shut up. Then they have the audacity to want me to refer people to buy! I'll refer people...to Mariott or any other time share company. DO NOT BUY WYNDHAM. THEY HAVE LIED SO MANY TIMES, IN WRITING AND VERBALLY THAT I HAVE ZERO FAITH IN THEM.

I totally agree. Wyndham cannot be trusted. My parents own 605, 000 points and loved using them for several vacations. But be careful what you sign. They attended a "lets get your maintenance fees down" session on their last stay in March. They were sold 203, 000 more points ($32, 000) and were told that they had 30 days to review it with their children. The contract said 15 days to rescind. A cancellation was faxed to them but it arrived 1 day late...recission denied. They said that if proof was made that it was faxed then they would accept it...Proof submitted. The owner relations department (joke for sure) said that everything was in order and that the recission would need to be rushed through and that the deposit would be refunded. The first payment was taken out of
checking...call was made..Recission denied. They claimed that the son was the one trying to cancel...3 way phone call...owners authorized the son to fax the cancellation...Recission denied...no signatures...The contract sheet with the owners signatures were at the bottom of the page but it was for the original purchase date...talked to owner relations proabably 10 differnent people over 6 weeks...Recission denied...signatures don't match...Match what? I say...NO response...recision denied...
why? Mother called sales department and had no idea that son had cancelled...This is a falsehood that came from the sales department...NO one called them...promised repeatedly that they would call owners...only once called. Collection department begins to call after owners stop electronic withdrawal...we will cancel your points...we will take you entire investment..call early in the morning...RUDE!
Don't buy from Wyndahm...They ARE BAD!

Wyndham Vacation Ownership will not cancel my account

They had called my house lots of time trying to get my wife and me to come down to there presitation, and for comming down there we would get a gift for a vacation of our choice. So I said let's go down there to just cue k it out. We had no idea what this company was about if we did we wouldn't even had gone down there. We went there and they were all nice, and there was a video they had us watch about how this will be great for you. The lady that we were assigned to got us all pumped about the program and how we can go were ever we want with this. And got us to agree when she said the points roll over every month, and the guy got my credit card and ran it for $1, 194.00 and said congratulation. We got out there all happy thinking we made a berry good deal, but later find out the lady lies to us and promised to us something like the point rolling over every month, but instead they roll over every year. I called to cancel but they won't cancel even though I told them I haven't even use the service at all. I am stuck with paying $10, 000 that I don't have.

In April 2016 we notified Worldmark that we would no longer be able to maintain our Ownership. I lost my job and was in the middle of Cancer treatments that are taxing us financially.
It is now mid September and Worldmark has faithfully billed us every single month for payment and late fees. They were calling daily to try to talk us into refinancing until I told them to stop calling. Worldmark has faithfully reported our late payments to the credit reporting agencies so our credit score is so low we can't float a loan to pay for a roof on our house. Worldmark has supposedly sent a Hardship Application several times. I have received one. Their on line link would not work. All the information for the Hardship Application is in their files except proof that I lost my job, and detailed descriptions of the Cancer and the treatments (none of their business).
So no Foreclosure process has been started. No forms sent. Just silence and reporting to credit agencies.
Get out while you can. Absolutely none of the promises made by the salesperson when we went Platinum were true. Worldmark could care less about you as an owner as long as you pay, pay, pay!

Wyndham is a NIGHTMARE. We purchased years ago (Williamsburg, VA ownership) and had a low maintenance fee per year; members of the board went NUTS and took the fee from $650 year to $l699.00 per year. The issue to me is that we cannot SELL the timeshare and we are STUCK and will lose all the money it took to buy it in the first place because we cannot pay that sort of HUGE maintenance fee. How could this sort of punitive rise in fee be LEGAL at all? Is there anyone in POWER at Wyndham to write to = their phone people are USELESS and say "too bad - sell it some way" and they laugh. I pray for all these people and their mean-spirited attitudes - amazing to me. I really pray for these horrible people.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership refusal to comply to my requests

My husband & I entered a contest we belived to be to win a free car. For the past year we have been receiving monthly calls from worldmark by wyndham. They tell us that if we make $50, 000 per year we are qualified to win a prize. We've told them we don't make nearly that much & that we want our names removed from their calling list. That is when they hang up. I've called the number back & requested to talk to a supervisor & they say "sure" and hang up on me! So far, after over a year of being pestered by wyndham's annoying telemarketers, i'm ready to blow a fuse. I want these people to quit calling me! The company is completely unprofessional & ridiculously rude.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership horrible company

The sales rep at the wyndham vacation resort in sevierville, tennesse committed fraud by lying to my husband and I about a timeshare we purchased through them. We were told that we were trading our timeshare from rci to a timeshare through wyndham. The sales rep from sevierville, davis linkous supposedly spoke to his manager and told us that we could sell our timeshare from rci to wyndham and only own with wyndham. When we signed our contract we were told that we would only have one payment through wyndham which was around $50 less than what we were currently paying through rci. After returning home we found out that the transaction did not take place as we were told. Our bank was being charged for both timeshares. After calling rci we found out that this transaction could not be legally performed. We immediately stopped all payments to wyndham and began trying to cancel the timeshare. After many calls and emails, the wyndham company did not cancel as we requested. Now they are sending us letters about a collection agency.

We had a similar experience through Fairfield Glade, TN...we were vacationing there through RCI exchange and had the speel from them, etc...we already have a 'timeshare' through a resort here in Ontario...we told them that we NEITHER WANTED NOR NEEDED a second timeshare...their response...oh don't worry...we'll take care of that for you...we thought that they were going to 'take care' of it for us...how they did it was gave us extra points!...what the f***k are extra points good for if you can't afford to make your payments?!...we thought it was all good until we got our bill for our maintenance fees for our Ontario resort...so here we are...struggling to pay those fees...AND make our Wyndham payments and maintenance fees...we were misled into believing that we'd have only the Wyndham timeshare...their collections department is another story...while I have dealt with maybe one or two pleasant ppl while making payment arrangements...most recently I am soooooooo upset with them...my husband was just hospitalized with a serious illness...that is upsetting and stressful enough...I get a call from collections...I'm blubbering like a fool telling her about my husband and that I can't deal with them right now and making a payment to Wyndham wasn't on my priority list...she had the compassion of a postage stamp...they called again later that day...called the next day...this time I yelled at them and just hung up...they have called almost a dozen times since my hubby has been in the hospital...they can do what they bloody well want with our timeshare...we have been paying into it for almost two years and haven't used it yet...it would be 100% profit for them...I don't give a [censor] anymore.

This same thing happened to us. In August we were told we were converting our fixed week in the Poconos to points with a home base at National Harbor. We were told we would not have the old payment anymore and that it would be put on a Bill Me later plan to pay off.
Now Wyndham is saying that that amount is a downpayment and had nothing to do with the original timeshare. Don't know what to do at this point. I am disabled and money is really tight. This is outrageous

Wyndham Vacation Ownership deceptive business practices and refusal to cancel contract within 6 calendar days

I had to call wyndham hotels regarding a hotel reservation.in the course of the conversation, the reservationist asked me if i'd be interested in a special progarm wyndham was offering since I was a valued customer. He connected me to what I later found out was their wyndham time share unit. They offered me a two night stay in vegas for $150 on the condition I tour their new vacation resort in vegas for two hours. I agreed and was charged the $150. Later I found out that where I was staying was at harrah's casino and I had to not only pay the $150 but also the room taxes. My two night mid-week stay cost more through wyndham than had I simply booked harrah's on my own though their online specials!

I was also promised a certificate for a free night at any wyndham property once I attended the tour as well as some coupons for free car rentals. These I never received even though I asked four times at the end of the presentation where my gifts where. The salesperson said, "we'll get them for you as soon as we're finished here." at the end as I was leaving, I asked on more time and was told "oh those are sent to you later on."

Well it gets worse. We declined the "timeshare deal" but the salesperson did talk us into their discovery package which he kept referring to as a trial offer. I kept responding that I would not agree to anything unless I had ample time to actually receive written materials and have the ability to look them over. I guess you can call me stupid, but the salesperson assured me that after I signed, I had six calendar days to cancel if I didn't like the agreement. It took me less than one day to realize this was a terrible agreement and followed their cancellation requirements to the letter. I sent the materials back via certified mail, tracked the return and return receipt signature. I wrote a detailed cancellation letter and I also faxed them a cancellation — all within one business day. I even made certain I kept a transmission verification of the fax. One week later my credit card was charged and now i'm embroiled in a dispute with wyndham vacations. Don't go anywhere near this company! Don't even accept their tour. Sign nothing with them and don't let them anywhere near your credit card. Visa has gone to bat for me, but the entire situation has been time consuming, frustrating and is still not resolved.

Never trust anything they say to you ORALLY. We discovered all sorts of things in the contract and the Discovery Book that were never revealed. I filed a complaint with Nevada Attorney General -- what a waste of my time. Got back an info pamphlet from them on time share advice for state of Nevada with a form letter saying they would do nothing!

The way I got the swiftest action was to call Visa. Visa was wonderful. The one associate at Visa I talked to indicated he couldn't share with me that this company received tons of complaints but at the same time let me know that they constantly get calls from customers who have been deceived by Wyndham and Visa had no problems placing the amount in dispute and following up with me to insure the contract got cancelled. I also made certain I sent the cancelled contract back to Wyndham with my letter notarized and via certified mail. By having it notarized, I had absolute proof that I cancelled within the time frame of the cancellation clause. Also make certain that BOTH PARTIES whose names appear on the contract have signed the cancellation letter. Wyndham will look for any excuse to say you didn't meet the requirements of the cancellation clause.

It taught me a very valuable lesson. No matter what someone says to you, NEVER EVER SIGN ANYTHING THAT DAY AND NEVER TRUST WHAT THEY SAY TO YOU ORALLY. If they refuse to allow you time to read over materials on your own, and do your own research, just walk out!

Wyndham Resorts evidently instruct their employee's to seek out forums such as this one and blogs to promote Wyndham Resorts as a wonderful way to vacation. They are also instructed to mislead readers as to their actual position with the company. They come on as casual owners of timeshares and tell glowing stories of great success in their purchase. In reality they are 'placed' in various locations throughout the web to get free advertisement for Wyndham Resorts. I have caught two individuals who work for Wyndham doing this. The first one was Ben Galaviz at Wyndham Wisconsin Dells. Now, I have been attacked and labelled a 'Drama Queen' by Mr. Chris Norman a few days ago who works for Wyndham Resorts in Honolulu, Hawaii. His boss is John Gonsalves. Phone number [protected]. john.gonsalves@wyndhamvo.com. Beware of those people who tell glowing stories of time share ownership as there are numerous problems and financial ruin that can occur when buying a $55, 000 unit.

I'm a Wyndham Discovery person. They tell you nothing about the 3 day minimum stay! They also tell you nothing about how nearly impossible it is to cancel as reservation unless you're willing to let it go entirely. Example: I booked a reservation for March 14-18th. I wanted to cancel the first day and extend the last couple of days. Turns out that is was nearly impossible... here's why: "Ma'am, if I cancel the first day (the 14th), I will have to cancel the ENTIRE reservation and rebook it. Because there are none left, it may be picked-up by someone else immediately after I cancel it. I mean, I can try, but you'd be taking a huge risk."... "Yes, you may cancel any reservation 24 hours in advance without penalty, yep, that's our policy." "We're so sorry Ma'am. But you are a Discovery member which means that..." What it means is that I signed up to be hassled for canceling one night of my booking. I informed Wyndham in a very nice way that I did not approve of their bait and switch practices and that I would very likely let all of my friends, internet, et al, know that I am not satisfied with Wyndham and would not ever use them again in the future after this Discovery portion is over. Yep, nope, nothing. Was not able to convince a supervisor to let me cancel the one day without the risk of losing my reservation altogether... in seconds. Seriously?!?

My mother went to a seminar and the woman went back in the back with her credit card and told her she was going to check on a couple of things for her. She came back and told her that her card is now appoved for 14, 000. She gets home and she gets copies of a new time share she had supposedly purchased. The woman had forged her signature and everything. They had charged her card 16, 000 dollars. This has ruined her! She had the best credit ever and now she refuses to pay that amount and told bank of america she did not make the charge. She even sent bank of america papers with the forged signature on it. They will not even help her. When she called bank of america they said that she called and asked them to extend her credit limit and them cahrged this amount. The woman that worked for wyndome did everything. She should get arrested. Till this day they are still calling and this happened in 2007. To the guy who comented too about visa company I wish they would do the same for her but instead it is on her credit for life!

I just posted on another thread about a similar situation I had with them. I too bought the $149.00 package, it was sold to me for Las Vegas, but then I ended up getting something for Wisconson Dells since they didn't have any openings or vacancies in LV at the time, or some other lame excuse. Anyway, I was told two conflicting things: one there is a 2 week money back guarantee, and two, I could cancel within a year and get my money back, since the package is good for a year. After the guy read the terms to me I asked him again if I did have the year to cancel, he assured me I did. The reason I was confused was because of the "2 week money back guarantee" and "cancel at any time" phrases in the terms read to me. Hence, I made sure I asked the guy what the deal was. Today I called to cancel within in my one year, and the customer service rep. said my time to cancel with a refund expired after the first 2 weeks from the sale. I told the lady I would report Wyndham to our attorney general and hung up. At this point, it will probably cost me more to actually go to the AG's office and file a complaint unless I can do everything online. Anyway, this company will never get another dollar from me, they've already gotten $149.00 of my money for nothing.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership Rushed process to buy

I am very angry with Wyndam. We were rushed through a buy talk (even thought it took almost a day out of last year's vacation). They made it all sounds so good and with 0% financing from Bank of America. All we got this year is 150 "stinking points" and that will not go far. We also are paying $40.70 a mo. for "Fair Share fees" that are automatically being deducted from our checking account. Not only that but the 6 mo. with Bank of America cut out this month and we're being asked to pay $420 a mo. vs. the $182 a mo. we were paying before due to $14.90 daily service fees! Outrageous.

We wanted to take a night to sleep on it, but that was out of the question last year and their slick sales people were not going to let us get away and even gave us 2 coupons for RCI resorts worth $275 each, however, they can only be used in a few states and during Jan-Feb. pr Nov. - Dec. They're also charging us if we even make a reservation. This is an outrage. It's true we didn't read all the fine print, but there is no way in God's heaven that we can afford these payments. We are very disapoointed and intend to let Wyndam know directly, as they did not give us enough time to process what we were getting into last year and since we were already on vacation, we put it off until we got home. We are going to make try to resell this little pieceof property and I do mean "little". Even if we have to take a loan, as neither my spouse or I can afford these new outrageous payments.

Beware, if you ever think you're truly getting a deal -- no So!

I paid off our Timeshare with Wydham in September 2008. They gave me the payoff in writing but claimed in October that I owed an additional $299. with an additional $6.99 a day charge each day that it was late. I have contacted them several times since then but they insist that I now owe over $1, 500. The confusing part is I get nowwhere with them and the last 3 statements have coflicting amounts that I owe. Some of the statements are even lower than the previous month and I didn't send them a payment. I don't know where to go regarding this problem. They are very rude when I try to explain that they sent me the payoff price.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership rude people

Three months ago I was contacting by wyndham professionals and they advised me that they had purchased my student loan and demanded that I set up a payment arraangement. I advised the rude rep britney harper that I am on a fixed income and the reason the loan was late was because I did not have the funds to pay. Ms. Harper proceeded to tell me that I was being lazy and that if I didnt set up a payment arrangement, my wages, as wella s my 2009 tax return would be taken to pay for the debt. So I begrudgely set up a arrangement for 150.00 a month. I called back a day later after reviewing my fianances, to advised ms. Harper I would not be able to afford such a high monthly payment. To which she again rudely said I need to keep the arrangement and they are not in the habit of lower arrangements. I asked to speak with her supervisor, to which she declined. I hung up and called back and requested another rep. I then spoke with a margaret collins, who claimed ot be a supervisor, and set up another payment arrangement of $75.00 a month. Which is still higher than I can afford to pay. I have tried to speak with someone else to see about getting this payment lowered and each time I am transferred to rude britney harper. I have since applied to have my loan consoladated by the fereal govt, however while I wait I continue to receive harrassing calls on my home, work and cell phone frmo this company.

Please help,

Regards,

Wyndham Vacation Ownership financial accounting practices

Stuck with a timeshare that we shouldn't have bought — for the amount we use it versus maintenance fees and payments — however; trying to pay it down but can never get a statement which reflects the actual payment we send it. Have sent certified letters to the financial managers but never get responses; have asked for explanation and actual accounting — where is the extra money going — it never shows up on statements. How does one get a response and to what governmental authority do we complain? Thanks

Wyndom uses ex hit men from Vegas for guards at most of the Florida Locations. I know this is true. I worked at the clubs who took profits and invested in family friendly time share companys like Wyndom, RCI. If u Borrrow money from the Mob u will pay forever and so will your children. TimeShares holders will pay and pay, with no way out.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership scammed

Was lied to repeatedly. Was told I could rid myself of timeshare in florida and that my payments would be reduced from almost $400 a month to about $175. Told I would get interest free loan through bank of america through rci. Instead, wyndham applied for a credit card for me, without my knowledge and credit card is 14.99 per cent. The timeshare in florida still stands, and now want me to pay an additional $175 a month.
Representative who lied to me, continued to lie to me afterward for a month, telling me my loan was being processed.

I have friend who is a school librarian in a small Arkansas town. She went with a friend to one of these presentations. They lied to her, telling her that within two years Wyndham would own all the resorts in the RCI book and there would only be one reservation line. They told her they'd help her make money renting out her points. Once she found she'd been lied to, she phoned their "owner relations" people who stood up for the lying salesman and said it was basically her word against his. Then she contacted the folks at advocates against timeshare fraud and with in 3 weeks she had a senior vp of the company calling her to apologize and telling her that the contract had been cancelled and all her money returned. You can reach them at

advocatesatf@gmail.com

They can probably help you out of this contract. It takes about 4 to 6 weeks.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership forced into a contract

My mother owns timeshare with wyndham resort and have owned it for about 10years the maintance fees keep going up and up. A sales person called my mother after running her credit report made her a bunch of promised how she could elimate her maintance fees. My mother is single and about to retire until this deal was done. When she left she owed wyndham 70, 000 dollars to pay over 10 years and the maintance fees are still aattached separate. They also opened a credit card in her name charged a down payment for the 70, 000 debt of 5, 000 dollars and she was told 3 days later from the credit card company thats assoicated with wyndham.
When she tried to cancel this program the sales reps transferred her and avoided her until it was past the time she could cancel which was 15 days. She is now stuck and on the verge of losing her home from there automatic debt. If the wyndam/fairfield call and offer you anything free hang up you will sleep better. The stress from this has left my mother ver sick and now she is hosptialized and suicdal.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership get up & go a fake!!!

While on vacation in san diego I was wrangled into listening to a timeshare pitch for wyndham resorts on the guarantee that I would receive a free vacation to lake tahoe. When I called to make my reservation I was told that they had to make "cut backs" and tahoe was no longer available along with every other one of the over 12 destinations that they guaranteed besides just two which would have had me staying at the comfort inn. Real classy wyndham, real classy.

I too did the whole 1-2 hour time share presentation. I got my certificate and activated it but was not able to travel until now. I called to make a reserveation for one of the distinations listed and they tell me that its not available! So I am SOL because Wyhdham decided to drop the location. What a waste of time! I think that if a location is going to be dropped because Wyndham feels that its a waste of their time in that location then those who have certificates should be advised of the situation. Now I have a useless certificate. The funny thing is the operator wanted to tell me about the other "great destinations" they had. WTF for? I am not going to any of those destinations! I did read what I signed for. It talks about the travel dates but not the location! Everyone has a right to voice...remember Geordie97...freedom of speech.

I work for Wyndham in the GET UP AND GO department! If it's not available- THEN ITS NOT AVAILABLE! We have a hard time as it is trying to book the reservation- THEN WHEN YOU GET ALL UPSET AND ASK FOR THE SUPERVISOR WHO WILL TELL YOU THE SAME THING- you get on sites to complain. Again, please read anything you sign!

Wyndham Vacation Ownership student loan repayment

Wyndham professionals are far from it! They have the most unprofessional process in collecting money for student loans. It is funny that all complaints end up being about the same (lets be nice) lady! Courtney gabbert!

They start by claiming to basically doubling your loan with interest if it isn't paid in full within 48hrs. Then ridicule you like you are the # of the earth for not being able to keep you repayment current regardless of your situation. After killing her with kindness she they immediately call my employer to garnish my wages. Who knows what will happen. I offered to pay $200-$300/month on at $9800 loan and they would not accept anything but full payment or half down and a $1000/month, if I had that I don't think I would be in default! Duh! If you are dealing with them good luck! I don't know where this will end.

My final payment was just made. I told them over the phone that I didn't make enough money to pay the amount they wanted. Gave them my information. My wages were garnished, and it made my life hell until yesterday. How I've survived, I will never know. This process has made my life a living hell. I am thankful that I'm now through with this process. If I were to ever go back to school, I would not get a loan from anyone.

These people called my sister & left a message on her machine stating that they were looking for me regarding a debt I owe. First off, they even aloud to leave a message like that? I called them back saying I don't know this person & asked them why they are leaving personal information on machines like that. She says she isn't the one who called so don't blame her for it. I said regardless what are you doing calling everyone with the same last name as her hoping it's the right number & leaving her private information about debts she may or may not owe for all to hear? Plus that this was a private number listed on the "Do Not Call" list. She said no that that's not what they're doing that they were just trying to locate her & that she must have had this number at one time & that they weren't calling from "any list". I told her that I have owned this number for years & got it when I moved into this house & we're they are getting their information was wrong. She said they could take my number off the list & not call anymore & sorry for the inconvenience. Then I read all the comlaints online & found out that this company is just a scam to collect money from you, wholey s#@*! There are scam artists everywhere, please be warned! And I checked, people/companies like that ARE NOT ALOUD to leave personal information like that on a machine or talking with you, they can only speak to the person they ask for in question about such issues!

I disagree. I defaulted on my Sallie Mae loans which were through the US Department of Education. The loans were sold, which is their legal right, to a collection agency. I avoided that collection agency for over a year. Eventually the loan was sold again to Wyndham Professional Inc. who finally caught up to me. I spoke with them at lengths about the loans, amounts and who they were. I contacted Sallie Mae, my loan originator who confirmed that the loans had been sold. Wyndham works with the US Department of Education and they offer reasonable repayment options. I settled for $195 a month and after 9 months of successful payments they will removed negative/past due reports from my credit report. They also offer early payoffs. Yes this is way more than you would have originally paid but everyone on this forum needs to stop kidding yourselves. These people would never have contacted any of us if we had made good on our loans in the first place. For me Wyndham was a life saver. I have auto-drafted payments monthly and they have always been taken out on time and for the amount stated. I have also read several reviews of people using similar loan rehabilitation programs with great success. They call me occasionally to check in and see how its going.

These people are scam artists. Do not deal with them. They were going to add six thousand dollars on to my loans for them to so called get me out of default. I found a company that is very professional and only charged a small sum. They took care of all the paperwork. Wyndham garnisheed me one payment. They are heartless and get names to from some list. We should take a class action suit out on them. A lot of us are on hard times and that person that said we should have paid our loans doesn't have a clue about this economy and how people get behind. Anyway, do not deal with these people. The government loans shouldn't send these accounts to scam artists. It just puts us through hell.

I found out that my daughter's student loan went into default when Windham Professionals called me. I made arrangements to pay them 65 a month. The first month went fine then the 2nd month they took out 200.00 dollars... they said that they had gotten the accounts mixed up and took money out of my account to pay someone else's account. I waited for my money back for 2 1/2 weeks... they kept saying that they sent a check off. I went to the bank and had a fraud investigation started. Not only did they take out the 200.00 they also took out my 65.00 dollars for that month. Here it is a month later and I never did receive that check. My bank gave me a reversal and I don't know if they ever got that money back and I will never know. I don't know if I should keep paying them or not. I feel like I should contact the student loan companies for my daughter and just see what we can do there. I feel like I am getting ripped off. This month I did get a money card from Walmart and made the payment that way. I just talked to someone at that company and was told it was a 9-12 month program, I believe I heard 6 months. I don't remember. Yeah I think I will talk to the SL companies myself.

Keith Banco from this company calls at the oddest hours and is very arrogant! I was paying $65.00 monthly on a bill i owed Liberty University. I only owed around $900 and me and the school agreed to this amount. Apparently I was late on one of them unknowingly and they sent me to Wyndam Professionals and that is when the jerk Keith Banco begin calling. He said my monthly payment was not good enough and he needed to settle the account immediately. He even accused me of being stupid when I told him to quit harrassing me, calling both my house and cell phone! He said he will call everyday and that I cannot do anything about it...Really unprofessional!

Im pretty sure that if any of you bothered to update your data with your student loan lender no one would need to call family. It is not against the law for them not to accept your arrangements. As debtors, you cannot call the shots. I have a $27k student loan and i am slowly paying it back. There would be no way in hell I would give anyone the excuse to garnish my wages. These comments are as if you never signed an agreement to pay back the student loans. I believe the company is a third party collection agency. Your account would have never gone to a third party collection agency if you were paying in the first play. My student loan went to them when I lost track of who now owned my student loan. They are bought and sold all the time. My grandmother was called and she gave me the message. I didnt hide from them, I simply called them back. I then realized I was no longer in the deferment I set up before. I decided not to go back into deferment and to finally start making my payments back. It was pretty simple, and I'm glad I got the messgae. It is now tax season and If I didnt make arrangements, I wouldnt be getting my much needed tax return.
you cannot file BK on your student loans
you cannot just pay back what ever you feel like
your wages will get garnished
your bank accounts will get levied
your taxes will be garnished

It is against the law for them to refuse any payment. They cannot force you to pay large sums of money in 48 hours, but this is what they are doing to people and they are beyond hostile about it, these people are actually collection terrorists. I'm in the process of finding out anything I can about this company, they need a lawsuit filed against them of mass proportions. they are now harassing my grandmother who just recently had a stroke. They will be sorry if she gets worse because of their harassment when she has NOTHING to do with my financial situation whatsoever. They have even threatened to take everything she has. Hello [censor]s, she's 99 years old, living in a home on medicare and has nothing. I jokingly told her to tell them she has some constipation pills to give them, since I think they are suffering a bad case of it.
